Funny thing about it is that I remember Quik sayin that Balance n Options was meant to be a "bad" CD, because it was mostly throwaway songs, and he just wanted to throw the shit together and make it bad on purpose because he wanted to get dropped, or somethin along those lines. Somebody else in here probably knows what I am talking about. So it's like damm, how the hell can you "try" to make a bad CD and then it ends up bein dope as hell? Makes no sense...

Yeah B&O was made to be a bad cd. He did it so Arista could drop him from his contract...Doesnt sound like a bad cd at all. Blows all the shit coming out today by a mile.

first it was rhythm-al-ism for me but it changed within the last years.
now its safe + sound. balance & options is hella tight too.

thats the same with me, firstly i like rhythmalism the most, with b&o... until i copped a copy of safe and sound, and OG, listened to it front to back probably atleast 30x... i havent turned back since then....

and i dont think quik was trying to make a hlaf ass album... but he put a whole bunch of skits on it... if quik wanted to make a shit album, he could have done worse than that... think quarterbackin remix...

Quik always speaks a lot of bullshit about his previous albums. He always says they're crap because the label blablabla and that the new one is the good one.

He always tries to make a banging album, no matter what he says later, when it doesn't sell shit. And he always succeeds.

About B&O being made to be a bad CD. That's bullshit. I know he said that in interviews and shit, but he talked shit about ALL of his albums at one point or another. Quik is always contradicting himself in interviews if you pay close attention. I seriously doubt he tried making B&O bad because he did a horrible job at making it bad if he did lol. If he tried to make any album bad it was Under the Influence, whose mastering sounded like me taking a shit. Some good songs though. Just my 2 cents.

I find that hard to believe that B&O was made to be bad. Shit I made a whole lot of my friends, who aren't even into hip hop DJ Quik fans because of that album. If Quik said that, it's just him being bitter about something.

B&O, Rhythmalism and Trauma, depending on what day of the week it is, I don't know which one I like more. Then it's Safe and Sound and Quik is the name, then Way 2 Fonky and Under the Inlfuence.

Depends on my mood, but I can definitely say 'safe and sound' is my favorite quik album.  I believe it is best followed by rhythmalism. Those two albums are masterpieces.
