good to see someone is up on the IMP  ^^ . Rip Cougnut, one of the best ever from SF imo.

today i got some good shit:
Nike "Better Than Ive Ever Been" - Kanye Nas KRS 1 Rakim PROMO VINYL 12" (only 1000 made)
Az - Doe or Die 12" (including rza remixes) with promo sticker
Above the Law - Black Superman 12" with sticker on cover (2nd copy)
Mystic - Cuts for Luck Scars for Freedom ( my 2nd copy) 3LP
DJ Quik - Balance and Options LP (also 2nd copy)
DJ Shadow and Cut Chemist - Product Placement 2LP. offiicial.

Amoebas is still fairly good for vinyl shopping considering its one of the only stores still left in LA.

Also are you connected with some "famous" people or something?

Wu-Tang - 36 Chambers
Ludacris Presents Disturbing Tha Peace
I will believe Detox when I hear a single for it and have the album in my hands.
but what if you loose your hands before Detox drops?

I think he does interviews for websites and stuff. He knows some cats.

and I've always seen it as a way for hip hoppers to get more into the art of it. Vinyl is more inherently artistic because the packaging art is much more elaborate and complete.

yeah, I dont DJ, but i do like to collect.. its just way cooler to have vinyl than cds. like CDs, yeah you got a lot of them and you store them on some cd racks, everyone has that... but when you got a lot of vinyl.. just seeing like an entire bookshelf case filled with vinyl, gives a whole different feeling.

and yeah like Tanj said, just having the artwork on such a larger scale, liek the size of 4 regular cd covers, is a lot better too.

I just like the way vinyl sounds. It gives a "warmer" feeling. I'm sure youve heard someone say that before. It doesnt really apply to new hip hop records or anything like that. But if you listen to older records, and you hear the static, the pops and scratches from the wear of the record, it kinda just takes you back in time. Im comparing this to like the CD format, which is often remastered. So I believe that since the original artists recorded it with low cost/primitive equipment, thats the context that it should be played and listened to.

I've only started collecting vinyl since like a year ago. but since i was already a very avid cd collector before that, i knew what i was doing in terms of getting first prints and originals, so i didnt really waste too much time with getting like re-issues and stuff like that. my collection is probably 200 records deep only, but i got a lot of rare records.
