After strutting her stuff down in old "Moulin Rouge" for the past year, Lil' Kim has refocused on her solo career and is recording the follow-up to 2000's The Notorious K.I.M.

Not that the album won't find her in more superstar collaborations. Kim said at the Grammys that her "Lady Marmalade" partners — Christina Aguilera, Mya, Pink and Missy Elliott (see "Video Is A Cabaret For Aguilera, Pink, Mya, Lil' Kim") — have talked about working together again, though for her still-untitled third album she's after some of hip-hop's leading men.

"I want to work with Eminem, 'cause I just love him," Kim said Saturday at the ESPN Action Sports and Music Awards. "He's f---ing crazy. Excuse my language, but I love him. Actually, I've been talking to Dre a lot. And Dre and I are talking about possibly doing some collaborations. He's a cool cat. I love Dre. Our chemistry in the studio was just like, cool. We've been working, you know, trying to cook up some things. And I've been having some talks with Timbaland. There's a lot of producers that are out there that I like. Of course, you know, the Neptunes."

The popularity of a potential collaborator isn't what's important to Kim, however. "I'm not the type of person that whatever's supposed to be hot at that moment, that's what I have to run to," she explained. "The kid from building C down the block could come up to me with a dope-ass track and I'm taking it."


"I'm actually having a lot of fun with this album," Kim said. "I think that it's something that we need back in hip-hop, a lot of fun, you know. I'm really happy with it."

and i've heard that many ppl callin lil' kim all kinds of thangz on this board...includin meself...but i bet any1 a tenna that if dre or em ends up workin wit her she will all of a sudden be the shit and the main talk of the board....any1 i bet a fuckin tenna...

whether she has dre production or not she is still gonna be lil' kim to me....and i hate her music!

She is only surpassed by Eve, Lady of Rage, and possibly Rah Digga.

I think Kim appeared on the Dre unreleased song, "Fuck You Too" with Truth and Ms. Toi if that's what she means by working with Dre in the past.  Cause I can't remember them doing anything besides that.  "Fuck You Too" was the response to "Fuck You" if you didn't know.  They mentioned this song is a previous Truth song, it was like her first time singing over a Dre track.  

Dam I wanna hear this song.

rage is rugh rugged and raw best female artists... rips up the mic man! seriously everybody here should have her album!

LoL, I said that there's worse female rappers than Lil Kim, but there's also 3-5 better ones. Rage & Eve is by far the best female rappers out there.

hmm...funny that dude shud mention eve and rage cos they r the only 2 female 'rappaz' i like. i like many others who r affiliated on rap albums more than any others....but non i would class as a straight up rappa like eve and rage!

There's plenty o' tighter femcee's than L'il Kim out there, including Rage, Eve, Mystic, Jean Grae, Rah Digga, Lauryn Hill...to name a few. Personally I don't like L'il Kim's music & I wouldn't really like to see Dre working with here in the future  :P
