So Who Is Going To Win The World Championship Football 2006 In Germany?

I think holland, because they have a great coach, Marco Van Basten.
And you have to watch brasil to cuz they have the best players in the world.

On The Edge of Insanity

Well its just called the World Cup, but I think Argentina will win it.

Well its just called the World Cup, but I think Argentina will win it.

i applaud your honesty

but i won't be voting in this "official" poll while there are english people out there blind to the fact that they do this every single time before every single tournament

and what i mean by "this" is: prediciting england to win the competition at hand.  the same happens before every major competition

1998 - beaten by ARGENTINA
2002 - beaten by BRAZIL
2004 - beaten by PORTUGAL

before AND during each of these competitions you were picking yourselves out as potential winners, blindly stating "WE CAN WIN IT" and "WE ARE GOOD ENOUGH" while the rest of the world laughed.

a few questions to anyone who actually thinks they believe england can win it:

1 - Do you believe you have the best squad in the competition? (if the answer to this is yes, then think of dida, carlos, lucio, robinho, ronaldinho, ronaldo, denilson, kaka, emerson, etc, etc, etc and think again)

2 - Do you believe that despite NOT having the best squad in the competition you have the mentality to beat a team who actually has a chance of winning the competition such as Brazil, Argentina or Holland?

3 - Even if your team was to outplay the opposition for a full 90 minutes, do you have a world class (or even half decent) goalkeeper to keep a clean sheet at the other end?

4 - And finally, if you were to lose (either through injury or suspension) lampard, gerrard and rooney (or even just one of the 3) do you really believe the other sub-standard 8 players have the class and experience and ability and heart to be and outfit such as the 3 mentioned earlier.

The answer to all 4 of these questions are, no.

good luck to england and if they win it, fair enough.

but i and the rest of the world will be shocked.

england are not favourites, maybe top 5 favourites.

but by blindly backing them all you are doing (which you ALWAYS do) is setting yourself up for disappointment.

if you were to say, "yeah we could get to the quarters, maybe the semis" then there would be no big deal WHEN (not if) they get dumped out.

but it has happened yet again like it always does and no doubt i will be saying this same thing again in 3 years for Euro2008.

come on England, SURPRISE ME!!  MAKE ME EAT MY WORDS!!!

i agree with everything you wrote Mac 10

for me, you can never go past the heavyweights in Brazil and Argentina

i still think France will be hard to beat despite tanking at the last WC and Holland looked to finally have a true 'team'

Argentina has many injured players no?

I picked Holland btw...it just seems that they are the strongest.  My top 3 picks are Holland, Brazil, and Czech Republic

About Mexico, I just hope they make the quarters  ;D

Few teams have the chance to win it, but i think Brazil will prob go all the way.. they may not be able to defend too well at times, but no denying they will just score goal after goal. << best attacking team in the world.

I'd like to believe Italy, they have a fine coach in Mister Lippi.

Honestly though, I never back Brazil before a WC, but this time round I think I there favourites at this point of time.

However, there's a long time until the championships and you never know with injuries e.t.c, right up until the last moment.
