WWE releases Christy Hemme
December 5, 2005

WWE and Diva Christy Hemme have come to terms on her release. WWE.com will have more details as they become available.

__________
This news has apparently shocked most of the WWE lockerroom. I can't believe how the WWE can release a diva who is training to become a wrestling, but keep giving TV time to divas like Candice & Maria who are both just a waste of a roster spot.

Man, what the HELL.  This has to be Christy's request, there's no way the WWE wanted to get rid of her.  My favorite divas are Torrie, Mickie, Trish, Ashley, Christy, and of course the beautiful Stacy.

No it wasn't Christy's request as she was looking forward to heading down to OVW in a couple of weeks & increasing her wrestling skills. Apparently the WWE called her up this morning & told her that she wouldn't be going on the overseas promotion tour since she was released from her contract.

That's really weird. She had great energy. The crowd likes her. I don't know her personally, but in character, it's pretty hard to dislike her. That's why I think something backstage went down. It doesn't even make sense.

She was very well liked back stage as well. Trish & Victoria loved her work ethic & her wanting to be better in the ring.

Christy makes about $250,000 a year so maybe that had something to do with it

Source: PWInsider.com

The presently unexplained release of Christy Hemme caught a number of wrestlers off-guard Monday, as the diva was known for having a strong will to improve her wrestling ability.

Sources say that Hemme was notified of her release early Monday; the belief is that the typical 90-day no-compete clause will attach.

Hemme was scheduled to start full-time with Ohio Valley Wrestling after returning from an overseas promotional tour with Batista this week. That trip was reportedly cancelled late last week, with Hemme learning of her outright release today.

ChristyHemme.com has not yet reported the release.

Partial Source: PWInsider.com

Christy follows a long line of WWE Diva's that have suffered from "The Playboy Curse" where they pose for Playboy and within a year were released from WWE. Many assume that WWE didn't want to continue paying her $250,000 a year to stay with WWE with other Diva's and most wrestlers making a lot less.

The word making the rounds is that she was notified earlier today that she was being released. The decision to release her was done by WWE and not her as she had planned to train hard and really wanted to succeed. She was scheduled to go on the overseas tour and had worked for OVW this past week. She arrived early to the show and was said to be really hyped up about her debut later that night. No word on if she will finish up with them like Daniel Puder did when he was released. This definitely caught a number of people off guard as she was very well liked backstage and always wanted to improve.

It's interesting to note that she posted the following on her website (ChristyHemme.com) this past weekend. "Hello everyone! It's been a while since the last update and I am so sorry! You all mean the world to me and I appreciate the support! I want everyone to know that I am serious about becoming a better wrestler and to really do that, I need to focus on training. With that said, I am going to take a break from traveling with Smackdown to train in Louisville, Kentucky at the Ohio Valley Wrestling School. I am going to stay ther for as long as it takes to come back and kick some ass!!! I have one goal in sight and that is to grow at this craft that I have fallen in love with. Thank you so much to everyone who is supporting me. I promise I will make you proud! Remember to keep watching Smackdown on Friday nights at 8pm on UPN!!"

Christy's bio on WWE.com has been removed as have all her photos. She will have a 90 day no compete clause as well.

Stay tuned as more becomes available

-- There is a 90-day no compete clause preventing Christy Hemme from working with any other wrestling company for the next 90 days. However, it’s likely she will show up in TNA or continue wrestling in some form as she had been training hard and really wants to succeed in wrestling now. Before being fired, she was liked by both Trish Stratus and Victoria for her work ethic and desire to improve.

If I were her, I'd hightail it out of the wrestling business and try to cross over into something else.  She looks phenomenal and has a really great personality.  If she's not going to be in the WWE, she won't make any money at TNA and everywhere else will just be worse... but opportunities elsewhere she could make millions.

But she wants to be a wrestler, so she'll end up being in TNA most likely & also taking Indy work as well

She should stick to modeling. Screw wrestling. She's beautiful, why risk taking bumps?

Cause she wants to be a wrestler, so she'll take the bumps because she loves being involved in wrestling

She doesn't want to be a wrestler.  She wanted to be the best at what she was doing.  So she was going to go all out to make the best of the job she had.

TNA doesn't pay crap.  Indy work doesn't pay crap.  She's got a lot of charisma, she could make a fortune doing something else on television.

Actually she wanted to be a wrestler, that was one of the reasons she entered the diva search was to get an in into the wrestling business.

Like it's been said before she'll probably end up in another wrestling company, most likely TNA. She's made enough money over the last year that she can afford to work for less in TNA as well as taking Indy dates & all of that kind of stuff
