Manny almost traded to the Dodgers yesterday

Manny Ramiez was alomst traded to the Dodgers in a 3 team deal that also involved the Phillies. The Dodgers would've gotten Manny, the Phillies would've gotten Trot Nixon & Derek Lowe, & the Red Sox would've gotten Bobby Abreau. The deal obviously fell threw cause I think Boston realized that they were getting the worse part of the deal & the Phillies also weren't exactly replacing the offence of Abreau if the had gotten Nixon.

I heard about it, sounded tragic, lol!  I have not been following negotiations closely - aren't they keeping (or trying to keep) Damon?

Anyone read Bill Simmons on Page 2 here?  I used to read him a lot, but since the Sox won it has not been the same.  I like his book a lot though, good old school stuff.  He still comes out with some great stuff now and again though.

They're trying to resign Damon, but Damon wants a 7-10 year contract & the Sox would be stupid to give Damon that kind of contract

Damon's agent is a prick too.  I put this in here before, but I think the Sox would be better to look down for the "next Damon", rather than pay the real one a shite ton of $$$.

I need to catch up on the team, after that dissapointing post season I signed off for a bit.  moved from Boston to DC, so I get much less info on the fly like I used to...  Then all you needed to do was look at the cover of the Herald to see what the hecks was going on!

Red Sox acquired Loretta to play 2B.  He's gonna hit like crazy there. 
They also acquired one of the best 3B prospects out there if not the best, Andy Marte.  (Sorry anton, even though u wanted this deal to go through lol)
