After The Heat Lost too the Pistons shaq said he wasn't happy with The offence and that He wouldn't mind having Pat Riley as his Coach.

Damn,I feel sorry for Van Gundy,Pat Riley & Shaq Fucked him ,,,Pat gave'em the Team 2 years ago...Pat was all washed up,gave that crap team too VAn Gundy,And all of a Sudden he gets Shaq and he want's too come back & try too win a Championship :tosser:

And the whole "Steps down for Family reasons" is bullshit.

A team official, speaking on condition of anonymity because the decision had not been made public, told The Associated Press that Van Gundy's resignation would be announced later Monday.

The team called a news conference for 11 a.m. EST, saying Van Gundy, team president and former coach Pat Riley and Heat owner Micky Arison would appear.

It was not immediately clear who would replace Van Gundy, but indications were Riley, who chose him as his successor a little more than two years ago, could return to the sideline.

Van Gundy's job status has been the subject of speculation in South Florida for months, starting when Riley — his mentor — said shortly after the Heat's 2005 playoff run ended that he decide to take a larger role in the team's day-to-day operations.

That comment, which seemed innocuous at the time, set off a storm of speculation that Riley was planning to dismiss Van Gundy and take over a team with two of the NBA's biggest stars, Shaquille O'Neal and Dwyane Wade.

Riley and Van Gundy eventually met for nearly four hours in mid-July. Van Gundy emerged from that session saying he was assured that he'd remain Heat coach.

But the team has struggled in its first 21 games, going only 11-10 - albeit without O'Neal for 18 of them while the 12-time All-Star nursed a sprained right ankle. Still, it wasn't the start anybody expected from a team built to contend for an NBA championship.

Van Gundy got punked, but that's the game.

On a side note, what's even more fucked up: How Artest wants to get traded now. LMAO. Bird kept him despite his 1 season absence and could have traded him for Marbury or some shit so he the Pacers would be able to achieve something in last years playoffs. But he decided to keep him cause he trusted him and shit. Now this. LMAO...
It's gon be hard to get something good for Artest also, cause he's underpaid

this team is built around shaq o neal, they should let van gundy stay to see what he could do with shaq back in the line up

i  never liked antawn walker, they need to get him out of there, trade him for Ron Artest, or get Eddie Jones back, atleast eddie can play d and is a slasher, Walker's game is wild and sloppy

Stan Gundy is getting fucked with no vaseline. That's just wrong. They let Van Gundy take over the team when they suck and now this.

if this isnt any cover-up and actually is total truth (i.e. Van Gundy resigned to spend time with his family), then i got more respect for him cause u dun see many family sorta ppl

however, there is alwayz more to every story.....so if he was forced to resign cause of Shaq's commentz, i lose respect for Shaq and gain respect for Van Gundy cause he helped the Heat a great deal

Of course he was forced, it's always the same. They tell coaches to fuck off and then give them the chance to leave mutually ;D

If they want Van Gundy you think they gon let em leave for this crap? He's got a contract still... Imagine a coach that brings you mad wins telling you he's going to resign because he wants to be with his family more. You tell him to shut the fuck up.

^^^Exactly.  Lakers fans won't admit that Kobe is also a cancer who got what he wanted...to be the leader of the team and not make the playoffs for the next few years..

Shaq is the reason they won those three titles, but ask any Laker's fan/Shaq hater, and it was all because of Kobe.

Hold on tight my friend, you and I are about to get flamed!

LMAO. Please!!!!!!!! Who's the fool who really thinks a guy who spent 3/4 of his life to be in the position he was till a week ago, with a team considered by everybody (but me) the 2nd best one of the NBA, with a lot of chances to win a ring, can really all of a sudden retire to spend some time with his family? In the middle of the season? C'mon..

The fact he was a great basketball player (MVP calyber, no doubt) doesn't mean he wasn't/isn't a bastard. He was uncoachable (i'm quoting Jackson and Winter), jealous, arrogant and childish. But the fact he was the MVP forced Lakers to tolerate all the negative things. Now that he's no longer an MVP type of player, it's even dumber to let him act this way. Hey, but Miami almost sold the arena to give him a full extension, so they did the right thing firigin Van Gundy to make Shaq happy. They put Miami in his hands. Good luck winning a ring, Heat. lol.

^^^Exactly.  Lakers fans won't admit that Kobe is also a cancer who got what he wanted...to be the leader of the team and not make the playoffs for the next few years..

Facts: Kobe Bryant was a free agent. How can a free agent be so important to choose the staff, the teammates and the coach? C'mon.
Shaq: demandend the trade after Buss refused to give him an extention max contract. But he asked for it, so he wanted to stay in L.A.
Phil: Buss traded Shaq and chosed to totally change the playing style of the Lakers by restoring the showtime and by having a run&gun type of play. So he fired Phil ("triangle was boring"), signing Rudy T. Plus the fact Phil asked too much didn't help.

Now Buss signed Phil again cause Rudy T failed, accepting 10m per year.
And Kobe accepted Phil no matter the fact Phil wrote that book against him.

Kobe is far from being the real cancer.

Phil acted extremely immature by calling him out on a book, and then returning to coach the Lakers.
Shaq acted like usual very immature by saying Kobe was the reason he left, while Kobe was a Free Agent and while it was been Buss to refuse him max contract, after Shaq asked for it.

Now i don't wanna say Kobe is perfect. Kobe did thousands of mistakes. But no more than Phil and Shaq.

Shaq is the reason they won those three titles, but ask any Laker's fan/Shaq hater, and it was all because of Kobe.

Both the things are pretty childish. The reasons were multiple, including Shaq and Kobe. The reasons were Horry too. And Fox, and Fisher, and Harper, and Shaw, and Lue, and Phil Jackson, and Tex Winter, and everybody. It was a perfect TEAM. In fact Shaq, in other teams not perfect like them Lakers, never won a ring and never will.

Sorry, you are retarded...I hate idiots like you who don't know what the fuck they're saying. Shaq wanted an EXTREME amount of money. Look at what state Shaq is in right now and ask yourself if the extension he was demanding was logical? If Buss woulda' been insane enough to give Shaq that extension, the Lakers woulda been fucked financially for the next few years, they wouldn't have been able to re-sign Kobe or get any other good players for that matter...Shaq fucked LA in the ass. Shaq is a fucking snake and he's doing it again...I'm almost positive Shaq is behind the shit that's going on in Miami as well...With that being said, Kobe is the furthest thing from being a cancer. He is a hard-worker, willing to excel, always giving it his all...A true champion...People who think like you are a disgrace to basketball... ::)

I guess I mistook your comment and thought you were addressing Pat Riley...Shaq is not a cancer, but he fucked LA in the ass with his demands for a kings salary and his need to be in control with decisions etc...He was a great player and I appreciate the effort he put forth in the 3peat era before he started showing up to training camp overweight, out of shape, and on the verge of getting injured his last few seasons in LA...Then he demanded a trade and called the city of LA "fake"...That's what did it for us Laker fans... he was as quick to turn his back and shit on this organization as he was to help it reach the top...
