Detox Iz Not Active

Every time a new west rapper is about to drop we all think he's about to drop some classic shit like Snoop did back in 94'.  But these new rappers from the west just aren't that good homey.  Game dropped a good album but it was anything but westcoast album.  Lil Eazy has to be one of the worst rappers of all time.  Now Eazy E was never had the best flow or anyhing but his son needs to find someone else to write his shit and teach him how to flow.  At least he's got some decent beats.  Bishop isn't bad but nothing great, nothing that made you think he was going to be the next best thing, I can already expect how wack the gues list will be on his album(50, yayo, busta, spider loc.....

Niggas like Ras kass will never move then 10,000 units and will always have the weakest beats to hold him back from dropping an classic.

Muthafuckas say westcoast niggas are living in the past because they all still bumpin the same niggas for the past 10-12 years, well that's because no one new has dropped the classic material since

Guess who back in the motherfuckin house

naww dude, i think glasses and bishop got a good thing going that we haven't seen in a long time -- daz and kurupt and all of them are cool, but i think these new dudes that are starting to generate a buzz are a lot different than what we've seen before.  i was never hoping for 213 or westside connection to "bring the west back" -- i care more about the music than anything else.  i think bishop and glasses are situated in places where they can create classic albums, they have the talent (bishop's "i'm a soldier" and glasses mixtape), and most importantly they've clearly got a committment to bringing their friends to the forefront instead of having them write their lyrics and keep them out of sight (*cough*Mack10*cough*).

Game did drop classic shit though (even though i like his mixtapes better) but thats how it is nowadays, if you want to sell the album cant be just westcoast based

i think bishop has more potential than the game, u heard his mixtapes? they are crazy

i think bishop already ruined his chances. he had too many guest appearancces already that were pretty wack. and its not building a strong hype.

I don't like Game and Lil Eazy that much, but Bishop's track "I'm A Warrior" was straight fire.  I haven't heard any of his guest appearances, but I've always thought he was pretty dope.  I can certainly see what Dre and Eminem saw in him.

Muthafuckas say westcoast niggas are living in the past because they all still bumpin the same niggas for the past 10-12 years, well that's because no one new has dropped the classic material since

West Coast niggas are living in the past because they all they wanna hear is just G-Funk, G-Funk, G-Funk, the same shit Dre and ATL pioneered almost 15 years ago now, and any rapper who diverges from G-Funk gets labeled a sellout or "too East Coast-sounding".  It's kinda funny you're a Quik fan, cuz I remember when he dropped the "Balance + Options" back in 2000, and many people I knew were like, "What the fuck?  He changed his beats, and they sound so wack now."  That was basically when Quik followed Dre's lead and expanded past G-Funk.  You gotta move on.  Cats need to realize that the G-Funk era is over and needs to stay dead.  I liked G-Funk as much as every other last muthafucka out there, but I got tired of it.  Shit, I even stopped listening to the West Coast for many years...even tho I'm not a fan or anything, it was Game's "Documentary" album that made me want to dig up all my old Dogg Pound and Warren G tapes again.

I agree with the thread starter, but I NEVER expect a new artist to drop some classic shit. True I will compare it to the dayz of 92-96, but I'll never let the past determine how good the new cats are. If anything I'd rather hear some fresh stuff then old niggaz like Mack 10, DPG, Quik (although for some reason I'm still into Snoop Dogg), etc. drop some new shit regardless of how good it is. I'm honstly just waiting for some young gun to emerge from the underground, and so far I see G-Malone doing just that. Bishop remains to be seen IMO. Honestly, I'm getting tired of old school shit being played over and over again. I'm ready for some new shit, and a couple of cats have impressed me.
But seriosusly, forget the past. It's like some people don't even like West Coast Rap, but still expect people to drop some classic shit, then get mad when it's nothing less the perfect.
Malone, lil E, Bishop, Game, all of them. Imma support them. If cats stop bullshiting and actually drop an album, why shouldn't I?

i think of lil eazy has a jim jones/ master p / j prince type of figure, more like master p in a sense that he does the rap thing, i think he's doing it different then the other artists because hes trying to start his kings of la movement, bring compton back, put his fathers name and let people recognize who the godfather of gangsta rap really is & just bring back that classic 88 gangsta shit

the problem is exactly what you said...game's album isnt west coast. IT IS WEST COAST. its not G-Funk, but yall niggas need to let that go. no album is gonna come out with production from Dre, Quik, Daz, Battlecat, Fred Wreck, and Warren G. if thats what yall waitin for then...

Bishop, Game, Smigg Dirtee (watch out for this dude!), etc all got a more mainstream style so I expect them to do good...just not in Cali cuz cats out here is stuck in 94

The problem is it's next to impossible for a new cat to get to the level mainstream love when your not even liked in your own state.

Now if the new cats would actually drop albums, then we'd be heading somewhere. When is Sly or Crooked going to drop a real album? Is Bishop actually going to drop a real album? We know Glasses actually got a deal hopefully we'll see an album from him soon.

The new cats have talent but they need to get real albums out there, not just mixtapes. It's up to the new cats to step up and take control.

i also kinda take issue with how narrowly "west coast" is defined... i think blackalicious is just as much west coast as a lot of the shit from the g-funk era, by defining west coast so stringently we're narrowing down what we accept and enjoy.  good music can be universal in a way that everybody relates to.

and with game, talkin about lowriders and beach cruisers and gangbanging isn't west coast?  aside from his album being exec produced by the man that has defined the west coast sound to the masses more than any other, he had a lot of shit repping the west on there.

I really dont know why people hate on Lil Eazy, the guy is hella talented, the guy brings nothing but heat, We should support the guy, here is a guy that is steps away from blowing up the westcoast, and people are hating on him, We have been trying to find the right person to blow up the west, and here he is and people hating on him, fuck he is not biggie or jay-z, fuck he is a gangsta rapper, just like his pops.  the guy will bring back the west, just watch and see.
