The problem with the new west is not a lack of talent, its just that there is no support coming from the west to show love to these new artists. For instance my fav. rapper is Kurupt, and i love the dpgc, but for 5 years they have been dropping trash(with the exception Bad Azz & Nate) but yet they get more support than the new line of artists that have double the talent and double the respect for their fans.

The reason no new west coast acts are blowing up is down to the fact these big labels will not invest in you without a solid fanbase, and it seems that the west coast is stuck in a time warp, the only new artist moving units on the west was game, the only other artists that managed to move 40k + were Quik, Mack 10, Snoop.

My advice is let the past go until these artists get their mind right, stop supporting their half assed attempt at a quick buck releases

Sly Boogy, Tha Young Hoggs, G. Malone, Eastwood & S.M.A, Tech & D.C ...they are the ones that need the support

Those 2 sentences are smarter then anything I've heard in this thread so far. (except for my post ;D)

The problem is the new cats aren't even really in a position to be supported, and mixtapes don't count. If you don't drop any albums, how can you get supported? A big reason why Game was successful was because he put in the work necessary in order to blow up. Are the new cats putting in the work necessary to come up? I don't know. I would love to be able to purchase a real album at a store from one of these artists instead of paying album prices for mixtapes that are next to impossible to find.
Being a LAKER is a privilige. Unfortunately some "Lakers" have forgotten that.

The only NEW west rapper that has a shot at being "classic" is Crooked I. Reason is, look at Shady/Aftermath/G-Unit...

When it was just Dr. Dre, D-12, and G-Unit, they were on top, and were gonna stay there. Now all these new cats wanna shot at this fame and glory, but you know as well as I do that they can't provide for everyone. Obie Trice, Stat Quo, Robbin Thicke, Game, Olivia, Mobb Deep, 40 Glocc, Mase, Spider Loc, Bishop Lamont, MOP, Busta Rhymes, Eve, and probably some I forgot. These are ALL new artists (well, new to the label) within the past 2 years. Aftermath launched in 96. In 6 years, they signed G-Unit and D-12. It should have stayed like that (well maybe Obie, too). Nothing classic will come from this label (minus Dr. Dre), or any other artists that are strongly affiliated with them.

Game still has a shot at being "classic", but don't depend on it. My guess, if anyone at all, would be Crooked I.

Yeah I know, but every song he's released so far has been above average. Every single one. I haven't liked an artist this much overall since The DOC, or possibly Dre. He said he was droppin' an album in October, and I'm 99% sure he didn't. Otherwise I'm blind.

Anyone know when he's dropping his debut album?

I still don't see one artist that will really bring something to the table that is ground breaking. imo best bets are as follow. g.malone, scipio, bloc runnaz, & planet asia and even then I'm sure half of that list might not make the cut.

I think it would be dope if all the "New West" artists should just come together and do something like a "New West" compilation album or whatever.

I already stated the answer to this in my first post, until they get support shown from the west no labels will invest in their albums. Its not even about buying their mixtapes, DC, Eastwood and Selfmade, Young Hootie all have had free mixtapes up for download in the last month....support them and download it!

The reason why the west doesnt get love from the east and the south is because these artists are putting out trash! Snoop hasnt put out a decent record in damn near 10 years, Dogg Pound new shit is weak, they will not put up with weak attempts...they will let those have been artists fall into the back and let some new artist get shine, where as on the west coast they are embraced, thats where the problem lies...
