Now that's a pretty damn sad state of affairs...
G unit aint doin shit for the west coast. 50 helped Game but Dre is the man behind it all and on top of that the west is not "back" becayse Game went plat. Xzibit went plat without g unit, nobody givin Columbia credit for bringin the west back so why would g unit get any credit just because a west coast rapper they worked with went platinum? As far as the other west coast "rappers" signed to g unit, so what? None of those guys will ever release an album, so what is it really doing for the west coast to have cali rappers tied down releasing nothing and unable to release anything through any other company? Not to mention 50 is trying to represent cali by using the worst rapper on earth (spider) and is tries to use the same tired 15 year old cali stereotypes that barely even exist anymore. OK so maybe g unit is doin more for cali, but the things they are doing are not positive things. I'd rather we just have our own guys doin nothin instead of lettin an outsider do negative shit.

I can't say G-Unit bruoght the west back. All the West Coast cats on G-Unit aren't going to realse an album or they're going to flop. As far as Game goes, if 50 didn't agree to work with game, then he probably would have never released an album. So I'll give 50 props for that. But that's not enough to say G-Unit has done more for the west since death row, because Dre released 2001 and the documentry on Aftermath. So despite Aftermath doing relitivaly little for the west, imma have to go with Aftermath, not G-Uint.
Yeah, I'm probably gonna catch some flack for posting this one, but just read the post first before some of you decide to put me on blast. Firstly, think back to when The Game was first signed to Aftermath. Sure, he had a buzz around him but, as I said in the article on Game that I wrote for DubCNN, it was only when he was signed by 50 that he was opened to a much larger audience, as a result became such a force on the mixtapes and his name really started growing on a global scale. I'm sure many would agree with me on that point. When he was riding solo with the Doc, his name was well known on the internet fan sites like this, but when the G-Unit affiliation came he started getting those magazine covers and radio appearances well in advance of "The Documentary" dropping. Finally on The Game side of things, and this is speculation but still, if you believe 50 than The Game's debut was stuck in Aftermath limbo before he became involved and got "the wheels moving", as I remember him putting it. If you believe that, and even if you don't, it's hard to deny that 50 had a pivotal role in the resurrection of the West Coast commercially that was achieved by "The Documentary".Now, look at G-Unit currently. They are giving up-and-coming acts from the West Coast, rappers like 40 Glocc, Spider and, if the rumours prove to be true, Jayo Felony, the chance to be part of a commercial juggernaut that can guarantee them the kind of exposure many aspiring artists could only dream of. The same rule applies to producers - how many other A-List rappers from the East Coast have you seen work with DJ Khalil, Jelly Roll, and Fredwreck? Exactly - no-one. I can't thing of a single non-West rapper that has shown the West Coast so much love in recent times. And for the record, I am NOT attempting to dick ride 50 here. Anyone who knows me will tell you that I'm far from one of 50's biggest fans, and the only Unit albums in my possession are "Get Rich..." and "The Documentary". That doesn't mean, however, that I'm about to ignore all that 50 has done for the West Coast rap scene.People can say "G-Unot" all they want - the fact is that valuable West Coast players like Snoop, Dre (no CONFIRMED feuding between them on Dre's part), Nate and Fred aren't going to go out of their way to distance themselves from G-Unit because, even if the empire has shown unavoidable signs of crumbling (they're on the downfall for sure), they probably recognize what 50 Cent has done for the West's music scene. That, and 50 personally still sells by the bucket load...Look at it like this: "Aftermath" is supposed to be the go-to label on the West Coast, yet they only have two West Coast acts in Bishop and The Game. G-Unit has three: Spider, 40, Game (50 claimed he's still co-contracted, even if he's not in the faction) and maybe even Jayo. Now that's a pretty damn sad state of affairs...

Actually if you wanna get technical JT The Bigga Figga gave Game his buzz. If it wasn't for JT Dre wouldnt even know who Game is.
