Cassano To Real Almost Done

According to the Spanish sports newspaper, Marca, the Italian forward will be joining the Merengues in the coming days.

An agreement has been reached between Antonio Cassano and Real Madrid, with the go-ahead being given by the new Technical Director of the club, Benito Floro.

The final step for the operation to be completed is for Roma to accept the offer made by Real Madrid, who are expecting to have the player already by the 6th of January, in time for the Copa del Rey.

Cassano will substitute Raul in Real’s forward line, as the Spanish captain will be out for almost the entire season.

In Italy they say the same thing, now. Juventus had an option on him, but they didn't sign him.

i hope that you rate zalayeta highly coz surely you can't mean that the other 2 are both better than Antonio Cassano.

Juventus made the right choice, they don't need Cassano.

Sorry but i didn't understand this comment at all.

Trezeguet and Ibrahimovic are our starters. Mutu, Del Piero and Zalayeta are our reserves. Do you really think a team with this roster needs Cassano too? To play when? In the Italian Cup? lol.

You can't help but laugh at Real Madrid's buying policy. They think they can field like six forwards/attacking midfielders in the same team or something?

they don't necessarily need him but he certainly wouldn't be sitting ranked 6th below those other 5.

that was my point.

The real problem is Del Piero. When you have him in the bench it's already a problem, since he's the history of this club (it's like moving Raul to the bench, or Maldini). He recently scored his 182nd goal with Juventus, tying Boniperti's record for the most goals scored with Juventus ever. And he's a bench player, who just plays 15-20 mins a game. If he plays. You can't add another man in the rotation before him. They'll go with Del Piero until he'll retire. Probably in 2 years.
