How Come Nobody Is Talking About This?!
« on: January 04, 2006, 03:28:35 PM »
Detroit Pistons are on their way to being the 2nd team in NBA history to win 70+ games.

Although it doesn't seem realistic in some minds, I believe the Pistons will get close to 70, but won't better the 72 wins put up by the 95'-96' bulls...they have veteran players that know what it takes to win. With the best starting 5 in the NBA (HANDS DOWN), the Detroit Pistons are the favorites to win the O'Brien Trophy once again. It's not clear yetl if they will make it to 70 since we're only past the 1/3 marker of the season, but I have a feeling the players want to get to 70..No question in my mind that they will win more than 60, but 70...it won't be easy, even for the best team in the NBA. The 95'-96' Bulls were something else, they had a certain mystique about them..it was truely magic to watch them play during that season.. I don't get the same feeling when I see the Pistons play, but unless the competition steps it up, I predict the Pistons to finish 68-14

They're not gunna reach 70, I mean, they're tough and all, but they're gunna lose some more games soon...I still say San Antonio has the better chance at the title...

It's way too early to start talkin about that. It's like when they were sayin "Indy might go undefeated" after they were 6-0....at least let it get to 65, 70% of the season bein over before gettin hyped over that kinda stuff

I think they rather slow down a little and lose a game here and there rather than being washed up come playoff-time.. with the Bulls it was another story, they had the title on lock. The Wallaces are rather aged too. They got Nr1 in the East on lock anyways. As a coach/owner/player I wouldn't see the purpose in giving 110% just to claim an awesome regular season. 65 would be well enough for me. The last game of the season should be won, that's what it's all about, no matter if you have 48 or 78 wins in the regular season.

LOL. so they ain't THAT good after all, are they? Losing 4 of their last 8 games. You can't do that if you're tryna reach 70 wins...:-X

plus, everyone agrees that SA hasnt been playin great ball the first half of the season. Their coach and team are all unhappy with how theyve played. Detroit has all this "one of the greatest teams of all time" hype...but take a look, theyre only up 1 game on the Spurs. I say we have a better shot at 70 wins then them. We're only one back, with only a decent first half of the season. With that bein said tho, i dont think either one of us would reach 70.  Im guessin more between 65-67.

Well Detroit had the hype a couple weeks ago when they only lost like 5 games. Now with their recent 4 losses, including back-to-back losses, their hype is gone I suppose.
Also, Spurs rarely win big. They hardly ever destroy weaker opponents. Plus Duncan averages less than 20 points  :o

thats what i mean about SA not playing well this year so far. They havent been dominate yet and theyre still #1 in the West with a 40-10 record. Anybody who watches the Spurs year after year knows. They tend to start really slow, and streak in the second half of the season. Bill Walton ALWAYS seems to mention that. They usually enter the playoffs hot. So for a team who hasnt been playing well, to still be 40-10 means they could go on a nice run the second half of the season. I think theyve been winning on talent and just cruising. Once the chemistry (with the newer players) kicks in, theyll be pretty dominant. lol@ u throwin in Duncans point per game as if its relavent to this topic in any way LOL. Poor Dirk....not starting in the All Star game  :loser:

that lay-up was the most gangsta shit ive seen in a whole fucking while. because it was so spontanous, not planned to show off, but he HAD to do it to even do it, nah mean? that shit was straight up mafia. receivin a horrible alley oop pass, no ground control, almost no ball control. then doing that. wade's from the hood im tellin.
