it takes ALOT and i mean ALOT to impress me musically anymore these days, it's gotten to the point here now where i got friends making bets behind my back to see who can get me into one of their favorite bands/rappers first....fuckin my chemcial romance, webbie, young jeezy, story of the year, nickleback, hawthorn heights, chris brown, ect. all that gay shit that's out right now...

anyways  my cousin was blasting some bad in his car when i had him pick me up from the stereo shop (new system for the mustang!) and alli hear is rapid fast solos, dueling harmonized guitars, shred shred shred and more shred mixed with a little pop punk .....im thinking to myself, is this some 80's band that i overlooked or don't know about yet? all the way back home i'm thinking , whatever...i probably have this  cd already i'm just too tired to remember who this is....then all the sudden a familiar song comes on......it's the song from madden 06! wait it's a new band!!!! holy crap no new band plays like this.........so i go home put in madden and lookup who it is.....AVENGED SEVENFOLD, i download some songs and really love em, buy the cd "city of evil" and love it!  then i go to the mall today and see that they have two more cd's buy them and love them even more than city of evil......i don't know but i havn't heard a rock band like this in FOREVER...anyone else feelin them?

Avenged Sevenfold are too hard for my taste in rock music.

"Sugar Were Going Down" by Fall Out Boy is one of the best rock singles ive heard in a couple of years. It kind of reminds me of Foo Fighters "Hero".

Yeah it definetly isnt the only one. All those you mentioned are good but i haven't took a listen to the Arctic Monkeys yet.

Franz Ferdinand and Queens Of The Stone Age are a couple of the best rock bands that have blown up in the mainstream in the last couple of years too.

Avenged Sevenfold is retarded, sure they have talented musicians, the two guitarists are phenomenal but I cant stand the wordplay and delivery of their front man.  they would shine as an 80s hair band but as an 06 pop-punk jock rock band they are mediocre at best.

^they're more of a throwback metal band than a jock rock band....mediocre LOL , musically who's better then, you'd have to go to the real 80's metal bands or the mars volta
