Bishop Lamont Says " Detox Is No Where Near Finished"

Well yesterday I posted a video of some dude named DJ Quik talking about how he heard Detox and it already has over 400 songs for it, in short hyping the album. Well today in an interview when asked about the Detox album Bishop Lamont said "Will it happen this year? I don't think so." He also talks some real stuff like how with every year that passes the higher expectations will get its kind of self defeating, he also talks features on Dre's album, read some of the interview below.
Q: Alright, so let's talk Detox. Rumor has it you're supposed to be the Snoop on the project or so your Wikipedia would have me believe. Then again, it also says you're supposed to be the new Hittman, which might not be the ideal scenario for you.
A: That's wikipedia for you. Bless y'all for giving me a Wikipedia page, I've never talked to the guys who made it, but God bless them. Hell, I didn't even know I had a Wikipedia page. As for Detox, it's been a long arduous task. It's the unicorn of albums, Bigfoot, the Loch Ness monster, at times you feel like you're in a lake trying to catch the loch ness. I've got pictures of his fins, he's come up from the water a couple times... What can I say really?
We got a lot of records, Dre isn't satisfied with what he has and the direction. His thing is, where do I fit into the scheme of things. He's 43 now, going to be 44 and it's been eight or nine years waiting. It's like waiting on another Guns N' Roses album, Snoop is on the record. I'd love to be like Hittman, he was on more records than anyone else on Chronic 2001. My position in it is more on the writing side and getting my features. For me, my story doesn't come from Detox, it comes from the Reformation. I'm on the basketball team doing what I gotta' do.
As far as the album goes, its been a serious difficult. The more time passes, the higher expectations get, his gears shift to a higher degree. It's almost self-defeating. He likes a record one day, he doesn't the next. He wants to change his vocals, his words, the whole beat. Will it happen this year? I don't think so.
Q: If it does see the light of day who can we expect to see on it?
A: Of course, the Doc. Focus, Nas...I can't really say all the features, they want to keep that quiet...Kahlil from self scientific, a kid named Kobe who's dope. Melman and Hittman came back, Slim the Mobsta, Earl Hayes, Eminem. Dre, Em and 50 recently went to Florida to work on their records and Em and 50 came back with records for their own albums but nothing for Detox. People are still waiting like its going to a 4th Quarter release but it's nowhere near finished.
Q: Is it difficult to stay focused, having to work simultaneously on Detox and making sure your own album comes out the way you'd like?
A: I don't think there's any artist who can relate to my plight, writing a billion records for Dre and me. Imagine the burnout of trying to write the illest stuff you can write and brainstorm on relevant concepts, running back and forth from back studio to front studio, it's been crazy.
I've been working on The Reformation since I was born-literally, I've been working on it for three years and it can become a burnout. I always look ahead; I've even done records for my second album The Impossible Possible.

http://www.bettyfordcenter.org/children/parents.php
Step 1
We admitted we were powerless over alcohol-that our lives had become unmanageable. Admit powerlessness over your ability to surrender to your love and not your control.
"Parenting is really a struggle between fear and love." The fear that our children, whom we love so much, can be harmed causes us, as parents, to attempt to control the fear by controlling our children. Managing our children through control creates bitterness in ourselves as parents, and breeds anger and rebellion in our children. The alternative is to accept that pain is a part of living, and that our children can learn from pain just as we do as adults. Admitting powerlessness over our life allows for honest parenting. Through acceptance we can share our love with our children and teach them to protect themselves.
Step 2
Came to believe that a Power greater than ourselves could restore us to sanity. Find hope in the belief that recovery is possible through faith and willingness to work on ourselves.
"Faith is the beginning of hope." The belief in a Power greater than ourselves can help us develop the faith to try new behaviors and create new visions for our families. As members of dysfunctional families, we have all kinds of learned "insanity." These behaviors directly affect our parenting. When we allow a Power greater than ourselves to work in our lives, then miracles are possible.
Step 3
Made a decision to turn our will and our lives over to God as we understood Him. Reach out for help and acknowledge that you are not alone.
"Asking for help is the lifeline for parents." When we turn our will and our lives over to God, we also turn our children over to His care. Letting go helps us to step aside and let a force greater than ourselves work in our lives and our children's lives. Drawing on the resources around us and attempting to find a good orderly direction helps us gain a sense of peace to meet the challenges of parenting.
Step 4
Made a searching and fearless moral inventory of ourselves. Take stock of yourself as a parent .
"Identifying our strengths and weaknesses helps us own reality. When we see how our personality traits affect our children, we realize how we project our fears onto our children, creating self-fulfilling prophecies. By doing the fourth step, we take responsibility for the things we do not like about ourselves instead of projecting them onto our children. When we look at what our family life was like before recovery, we can get a clear picture of where we were and work to avoid repeating past mistakes.
Step 5
Admitted to God, to ourselves, and another human being the exact nature of our wrongs. Learn to share your parenting issues without self-recrimination.
Sharing our inventory with God and another person helps us to see patterns that have caused us problems. The guilt from the excessive baggage of the past separates us from those we love. Sharing the things we see with our spouse, friends, and support groups allows us to find that we were not as bad a parent as we thought and we have all kinds of support and guidance available around us. Honest communication with a spouse is important so that your efforts can begin to work together for more effective parenting.
Step 6
Were entirely ready to have God remove all these defects of character. Become ready to change by giving up the demand to be perfect.
"Be ready to change." Our character defects have been the way the child in us has protected itself from a hostile world. As parents, we must face the child in ourselves and tell ourselves that the time has come to give up the old patterns. We must develop new defenses to use when defenses are necessary. This involves finding new ways that do not involve denying our feelings.
Step 7
Humbly asked Him to remove our shortcomings. Make conscious changes in your parenting by identifying specific strategies for healthy parenting.
Willingness to humbly ask for help sets the stage for our spiritual growth as a parent. Since many of us grew up in alcoholic families, asking for help is especially difficult - asking with humility is even harder. We begin to make conscious changes in our parenting. Our old patterns and responses, as well as those of our children, will still occur as we begin to adjust to these changes. Change takes time; setbacks are natural. Setting firm and consistent limits and learning new ways to relate to our children will help as we adjust to the changes.
Step 8
Made a list of all persons we had harmed and became willing to make amends to them all. Take responsibility for the effect your parenting has had on your children and learn self-forgiveness.
Learn to forgive yourself. Accepting the past as a fact and without guilt is an important part of this step. By taking responsibility for the past, we admit the truth about the past (neither judging too harshly, nor minimizing the effects). We can then commit to changing our behaviors that are harmful and follow through on our commitment. Listing new parenting strategies moves us away from guilt and into responsible action. Deciding to change helps release us from self-recrimination. We need to remember that we did not willfully harm our children; we were doing the best with what we had at the time. Now we have more. Being a recovering parent is like being a recovering alcoholic. We can let go of the shame and guilt when we accept our problem and do something about it.
Step 9
Made direct amends to such people whenever possible except when to do so would harm them or others. Make amends to your children through healthy parenting without over-compensating.
The best way to make amends to our children is by being a better parent. Our children can sense when we are trying to make up for lost time or trying to be the "super parent" because of guilt we have. Children often respond with mistrust or manipulation to our over-compensations. When we commit to be the best parent we can be, we share our lives and attention with our children. We accept each other's differences. We give permission for everyone to express their feelings. We start setting firm loving limits for our children and ourselves. It also means reaching inside to heal the child inside ourselves who cries out for love and attention.
Step 10
Continued to take personal inventory and when we were wrong promptly admitted it. Model being honest with yourself and your children and create acceptance in your family for imperfection.
Our children learn more from what we do than from what we say. This is a step of self-honesty. We must learn to accept our own imperfections and mistakes before we can teach our children that they can be imperfect and still be loved. By modeling self-honesty and self-acceptance, we demonstrate to our children how to deal with life based on "content of their character" and not how close to perfect they can get.
Step 11
Sought through prayer and meditation to improve our conscious contact with God as we understood Him, praying only for knowledge of His will for us and the power to carry that out. Learn to accept your limits in life and find your true spiritual path while allowing your children theirs.
As parents the hardest limit to accept is the truth that in the end our children will be on their own. By nurturing our own spirituality we, as parents, are able to guide our children toward their own path of spiritual growth. We can share our spiritual principles and values with our children best through our guidance and our example. It is easier to "Let go and let God" when we accept that in the end our children are on their own and we cannot control the choices that they will make. The ability to give thanks for each experience (because experience has made us who we are) helps us to be aware that we are part of a larger plan.
Step 12
Having had a spiritual awakening as the result of these steps, we tried to carry this message to alcoholics and to practice these principles in all our affairs. Reach out to other parents in the spirit of giving and community.
"You can't keep it unless you give it away." Sharing our experience, strength, and hope is the cornerstone of our program. We can reach of highest potential through helping others strive to better themselves. We need to be involved in our children's schools, in support groups, and in the community. Carrying the message means reaching out and offering a helping hand to other parents when needed and appropriate. It is learning to lead our children in a loving way and give the child within you all he or she needs to grow.

Funny situation about haters though.
They get all pissed off and consider the negative rumors to be true like when it was announced through
second and third-hand sources that people like Lil Wayne and Fergie would be on the album, they were 100% considering it to be true.
When it's announced that all these West dudes are in there fucking with Dre, they won't believe it.
Either way it goes, "Detox" ain't finalized so getting excited or pissed off about features is kind of childish.
But if you're gonna do it, at least be consistent. When the rumors are positive, don't find a way to make it negative.
BTW: Shout out to Bishop Lamont (the West-Coast Savior) who had Blacktoven, Los, Balance, Crooked I, Sugafree, "Jedi", Xzibit, Taje, Dae One (the champ who crashed like 4 days in a row @ Area 51 pullin' all nighters), Noni Spitz, Chevy, Roccett, Butch Cassidy, Kron Don, Chase Infinite, Kobe, Young De, Spitfya, Jellyroll, Godfather J, Bigg Steele, Whoo-Kid, Glasses & just about every HUMBLE west coast artist in the last couple of weeks workin' at Area 51 in an underground super secret lab.. on new shit for DETOX!

Jonathan Cohen, N.Y.
I'll tell you about Eminem. We only tried to put him out this year to replace Dr. Dre, but we got into a quagmire.
Eminem was always coming next year. But what happened was, I lost Dr. Dre to Eminem.
Dre had to stop making his album to finish Eminem's album.
Eminem hit a streak, and when a guy like Eminem gets on fire, you stop everything. That's how we lost Dre.
So what's the status of Dre's record?
Dre's going back in in January. He'll be finished with Eminem by then, and he'll finish his album.

Anybody have some audio or something I can check out of Kobe?
Also... it's starting to sound like maybe Bishop Lamont is getting burnt out over this whole Detox thing,
writing all this great material and never seeing it come out...
he may end up jumping ship like Stat Quo and so many others who have worked on the project.
Of course, that would be a mistake, because once artists stop working with Dre they quickly disappear into obscurity.

Bishop's tone (from how I read it, atleast) doesn't really lead me to assume its actually "nowhere" near finished... as in years are left.

AllHipHop.com: I know you can't speak much about Dr. Dre and Detox. I know you can't talk about it. But…
Bishop Lamont: What are you trying to set me up for, pimp? (Laughs)
AllHipHop.com: We just want some clue as to what goes on in Dre's mind. We've been waiting forever.
Bishop Lamont: Me too!
AllHipHop.com: We're looking at him to turn the Titanic around this year.
Bishop Lamont: It’s definitely the Titanic and we're about to hit that iceberg. I don't know. That dude is an amazing dude. You can never tell what's on his mind. I can speak on what's in his heart. For the most part, he wants to deliver Detox, but he doesn't feel that its up to par yet to give it to the world. Each installment has taken seven years and we're up to 10 with this one. We're going past that window so its are the people still gonna want it and can I give them with the same energy and the ambition that the people want to see it. N***as looking at it like its Big Foot or a unicorn or Loch Ness Monster. It’s taken on mythical levels. He has to surpass all that and deliver something amazing. So, hopefully…
AllHipHop.com: Another legendary producer DJ Quik suggested he should do a new album...
Bishop Lamont: That's what he did...
AllHipHop.com: ...with a different title.
Bishop Lamont: It’s not a different title, but he did [change the album]
AllHipHop.com: Was that because of leaks or...
Bishop Lamont: Because of leaks and how he's feeling in his mind. I can't speak for him 100% until I speak to him, but from what it was before to what it is, he wants that s**t to be mega. I think n***as would be mad if we put out some bulls**t and it destroys the whole legacy. Other n***as albums didn't live up to the expectations and now we're coming to the godfather of rap, the Quincy Jones of rap. This n***a's got to not only walk on water, but fly and s**t. We in the Matrix right now and that's Morpheus. Neo is going to do his thing and I'm going to do what I gotta do with Morpheus.

Just Blaze Talks The Truth Behind Detox
http://www.aftermathmusic.com/blog/?p=527
While Blaze remained relatively quiet regarding Hov’s project, he did open up about the other album that has been highly anticipated – “Detox.”
It has been long rumored that “Detox” may never come out.
However, recent song leaks and reference tracks began to show signs that the album may indeed come to fruition in the near future.
Just Blaze knows why there is a hold up, and attributes the long wait to the exact thing he mentioned previously regarding “Blueprint 3” – simply not being ready.
“It’s the same thing with Dr. Dre.
Dre told me himself as I worked with him on “Detox” that he didn’t feel like making the album until last November,” he said after explaining Jay-Z’s situation.
“Before that, it was just something he threw out there once because he felt like it,” he continued.
“And all of a sudden he realized he created something where the fans were asking for it and now he has to do it.”
Being a perfectionist himself, Just Blaze completely understands the situation that both Jay-Z and Dr. Dre are in.
He’s actually been in a similar position himself.
“What happens when you are not in that mindset [of making an album]? I don’t make a banger every time I sit at the MPC,” he reveals.
“You can have an off month. Luckily, when you are in a position where you don’t have a financial obligation, you do it when you feel like it.
Once you feel like it, it will start falling together.”
So what exactly do we know about “Detox” and “Blueprint 3”?
Not much more than that both albums are in progress, but the details remain locked in a safe.
“I know that in my talks with Dr. Dre, he felt that he finally hit his stride last November and that’s when he really started to work hard,” he continued.
“More people have been coming out and speaking on “Detox,” but nobody has said much about Jay’s album so I’m not going to be the first.
But we have had conversations about it in terms of direction and what he wants to do.
What comes out of it? We’ll have to wait and see. I may not even be on there.” (BET)
releasing the album in 5.1 is sick, dude's starting a new era in music industry.
His recent productions for Em and bishop are on fire, and quick said a few times that detox sounds insane (cant wait for that symphony and chopin stuff)

Khalil tells us about his inspirations and his first steps as a musician and how he ended up meeting his partner-n-rhyme Chace Infinite to form Self Scientific.
We then get into his relationship with Dr. Dre and Aftermath, on which we tried to get Khalil to talk as much as possible.
As you know, it's hard to find out what's really going on in the Aftermath studios, but Khalil opens up about the recent Detox leaks and Dre's reaction to them, what he thinks of fans criticizing Dre's perfectionism and why he admires his mentor as much as he does.
Check out Part 1 of the interview:
Exclusive Interview With DJ Khalil (Part 1) (July '09) (http://www.dubcnn.com/interviews/djkhalil09-part1)
Look out for Part 2 dropping on Monday, where Khalil describes a typical studio session with Dre, talks about Bishop Lamont, and his current projects. We talk about the Slaughterhouse album, producing the Clipse & Kanye track "Kinda Like A Big Deal", Khalil's group the New Royales, and what else we can expect from DJ Khalil in the times to come.
The DOC Interview: Detox
(http://i25.tinypic.com/1214wed.jpg)
http://raptalk.net/website/content/view/1840/54/
Raptalk.Net: And I imagine your talking about Detox. Is it possible that the surgery process may be over with in time to land you a verse on Detox?
The D.O.C.: Hell no. Hey, we’re trying to be done with this record by November.
Raptalk.Net: Wow! This record should be done by November?
The D.O.C.: That’s right. I think we have enough songs right now but Dre is Dre, you know.
Will be doing it until he gets the 12 that he is in love with. But I do think we have enough right now.
I don’t think he’s putting it in as hard right now which makes me believe that we have pretty much what we need. So now we have a 3 month window to fuck around.
Raptalk.Net: So would you say at this point in the entire recording process, were as close to having Detox finished as we’ve ever been?
The D.O.C.: Oh yeah. This guy has really great music and it’s some cool shit, but it’s up to him. I think they just started promotion for the Slim the Mobster record.
I’m not sure but somebody hit me over the web and said they heard that they finally started promoting the Slim the Mobster so if Slim is coming,
I don’t think Dre will be that far behind him.
Raptalk.Net: Is it true that Mel-Man has made some recent contributions?
The D.O.C.: I don’t know. I’d be speaking out of turn if I said yes or no. I don’t know.
Raptalk.Net: How do you think “the team” putting together this album compares to that of the “Chronic 2001” team that included Hittman, Eminem, Knoc-turn’al, DPG, Xzibit and so on?
The D.O.C.: Wow, that’s a pretty good question.
Raptalk.Net: Thank you.
The D.O.C.: It’s different because every album is different.
It was a different album from Straight Outta Compton to Niggaz4Life because (Ice) Cube was missing even though the nucleus was the same.
It was a totally different feel when he was making it. This is a Dr. Dre album – this is probably more of a Dr. Dre album than motherfuckers have ever really got in the past. It’s a lot more of Dre in front. I think for his last album, that’s pretty up and above.
.........
Raptalk.Net: I feel you. Do you know anything about Stat Quo recently being back in the studio with you guys?
The D.O.C.: Yeah, he was with us in Hawaii.
Raptalk.Net: It is good to hear there is no bad blood with him being dropped and all that.
The D.O.C.: Oh no, Stat Quo came in and actually came up with two really nice pieces.

nah, i'ts more like interscope wants Detox in stead of The Reformation & a slim the mobster soloalbum.Besides having DOC and Eminem it seems like Dre is fucking with anybody for the lyrical side of Detox.
You might be right about that.
Both DOC and EM is excellent song writers,so I'm cool with that. The DOC Interview: Detox

So in other words Jimmy Iovine don't believe Slim,Bishop,Stat and/or Earl Hayes has any star power (?) :P ,
so Dre has to carry it himself. :P hmmmmm

-Speaking of things that are being kept hush-hush… What’s the latest update with the Bigfoot album (Detox)?
Ha! He said the Bigfoot album! Dre just went to Vegas, he’s finishing off 50’s album getting that monster ready. Em is pretty much set to go again. They’re all in Vegas, getting fucked up and making great music. So yeah, that’s what’s up with the Bigfoot album (laughs)
-I think I heard somewhere that over 2000 records have been recorded in the process of creating Detox
Shit, I think it’s even more than that really. I mean he has a vault of records that he’s been dibbling and dabbling with for about ten years now. So I can’t even imagine how many more he’s got in there. Imagine doing 75 records in two nights, just vibing and zoning. There aint no telling how many he’s got. I mean after 22 years he’s like, I’ve seen that, I’ve tasted that, I’ve ate that. So he’s really gotta come with something you’ve never seen before. He’s really gotta come come with something he’s never heard before conceptually and production-wise. That’s where the bar has been set. So it’s a serious thing to do. He has to go beyond himself to get to levels that he’s teeing in his mind. It’s rare that you can achieve what you see in your mind or even come close. So to come that correctly is an arduous task.
-And I understand that this work ethic has even brushed off on you where you have created over 200 records for Detox.
Yeah…
-But my question is… what’s going to happen with all this remaining material?
I couldn’t tell you man. It’s probably gonna sit in the vault or be used for something else. I never look back though. Once it’s done I keep looking forward. Either he cuts it or it makes the cut. It is what it is. My thing is about progression. My thing is about growth. If it aint about the future what is it?

I just copped this @ mixtapetorrent while looking for that new Young Buck mixtape & saw this in the most popular DL's. it just hit the other day. so all the production on here I haven't heard before not even remotely. So is it being confirmed or denied officially thru Aftermath that this is in fact authentic Dr. Dre Production?
NOT confirmed..... and you know Dre wont speak on it. :P
Actually, that Governor dude has already been on a Dre track.
It was called "take the heat", a method man left over from the tical album (not the 1st one of course),Tical 0 i think the album was called.
Governor sounded the same on the hook. I just think he sucks... I didn't like the hook on take the heat.
And this track is pure garbage. Shooting out the doctor on this is just a disrespect to his legacy and the fact that he only releases DOPENESS.
There is NO WAY something like this would be on detox. Or there will be alot of suicides when it drops :D
Kobe 8)
Governor :-\
by the way, what's the actual release date for that "Detox" album we're talking about ? Nah i'm just kidding
sounds wack as fuck to be honest. and it sounds like someone just added a 50 cent acapella over that dodgy sounding beat.
have you heard the whole mix-tape?
to me it (the mix-tape) sounds like a mix of the "Dr.Pepper" beat and "Raekwon´s; About me" beat....

truenot too sure what to make of it,
but its not very good and i doubt Dre had very much, if anything, to do with it.
Really? .... I went trough it again;
-Tighten U Up; could easily be a laidback Dre beat
-I'm Just Saying'; The drums, piano etc.... sounds like Dre
-Uncut (ft.50 Cent); just because of the name drop
-Welcome 2 My World; got Dre written all over it
-Dance 2 The Music; got Dre written all over it
-Bring Back The Music; could be....
I hope Dre is not behind any of these tracks. Man, I just can't stand Governor's ''singing''. Why the fuck would Dr Dre work with this guy? I mean, almost every rapper/hook singer/songwriter would LOVE to work with Dre but he gives beats to... Governor........

Dr. Dre Says Motivation Delaying ‘Detox’
www.rap-up.com
Dr. Dre’s Detox has been a long time coming and the delay is about to get even longer.
When asked by www.ABCNews.com what’s been keeping him busy, Dre laughed,
“Only my album that I’ve been working on for the last 10 years, that’s it, Detox record.”
The hip-hop pioneer shot down any glimmer of hope that the project is coming out this year.
“Hopefully I’ll get it done at the end of this year and we can hear it next year.”
What’s the holdup?
“Motivation, other things getting in the way, that’s it.”
And headphones. Just last week he unveiled a cheaper, lightweight version of his popular Beats by Dr. Dre.

Game Speaks on Dr. Dre and Detox
http://www.hiphopgalaxy.com/Game-Speaks-Dr-Dre-Detox-R-E-D-hip-hop-10072.html
(http://www.hiphopgalaxy.com/IMG/arton10072.jpg)
A glimmer of hope is on the horizon for fans still waiting for Dr. Dre’s mythical Detox album to drop. Game recently told XXLMag.com that he and Dre are hard at work on both Detox and his own album, The R.E.D. Giving insight into the production legend’s work ethic, Chuck Taylor said composing with Dre is a slow process.
“If you get in the studio with Dre you best be prepared to be there for a long time ’cause he gonna coach you word for word until he gets you to 100 percent where he wants it to be,” he said. “You gonna be in there all night working on one verse. “
“We recording every single day working on Detox and working on The R.E.D. album,” he revealed. “It just feels good for me to be back in the studio with the big homie and working on my project.”
Game also shared that Dre will make the ultimate decision on which songs that come out of the simultaneous Detox/R.E.D. recording sessions will go on which project. According to Game, Doc’s track record speaks for itself like his previous releases, The Chronic and The Chronic 2001.
“Man, I can’t even describe [2001]… I would just say it’s a classic West Coast album but it was world-renowned and it had an international appeal, like who from where didn’t f*ck with that album ?,” Game asked in an interview. “With 2001 he just went back to do what he do best man and that’s just trying to create the sun, moon, stars and Earth in seven days, man. The thing that stands out to me about 2001 is the same thing that stood out to me about Chronic — Dre is a perfectionist and no matter when he coughs up an album, B, they be exactly what you need. I know it seem like he be taking forever with these albums but if you think about the time that passed between the Chronic and 2001, I think Detox is just about due. So it’s not about him just making us wait, it’s his format.” (XXL Mag)

The O.D.: A Mixtape Daily Exclusive
Tim is teaming up with a music heavyweight to bring you another newcomer.
It doesn't get any bigger than this: Timbaland and fellow super-producer Dr. Dre are joining forces on an upcoming project.
"I got two hip-hop artists, believe it or not,"
Tim said Monday, running down what's coming up for him besides his just-released Timbaland Presents: Shock Value II.
"One is this guy me and Akon signed, Billy Blue.
The other one, I think people gonna wanna know about.
Me and Dre just signed him, this guy named Earl Hayes from Detroit.
Incredible storyteller. Incredible. Reminds me of how B.I.G. tells his stories."
Timbo explained that Earl Hayes has been around for a while and no one brought him to the table.
"He kind of was around the table," Tim said.
"He wrote some of Dre's Detox — if Dre ever is gonna do it — but he wrote a lot of that for Dre.
He's just been around the camp. I knew him from my homeboy, so he's been around both camps.
Me and Dre both think he's a crazy artist. So we said, 'Let's do him together.' "
'Let's do him together.'
damn the beat in that slim video sounded sounded heavy! 8)
i'd expect that is more of a 'detox' style sound than a lot of other stuff recently.

detox beats?
i didn't make that video, some dude upload that few weeks or months ago earlier and it got deleted so i upload it again..
---------------------------------------- ---
Hi!
I made this video like over a year ago with some of my beats, didn't know that someone else had posted it.
The reason I made the video was because of the last beat that sounds a bit to much like dre, I couldn't use it for anything big.
So I put a bunch of my beats together and made some of them "Dre'ish" and posted them on youtube as a Detox hoax.
My myspace page is quite poor but you can check it out at.

Would Appreciate if you could write this in the info about the Detox Hoax!
P.S Where did you find the video? Youtube banned my video over a year ago.
Best Regards

Hate Me Now
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hate_Me_Now
"Hate Me Now" is a 1999 hit hip hop single by rapper Nas featuring Puff Daddy.
The backbeat is inspired by, and contains some samples from, Carl Orff's Carmina Burana.
Controversy
The music video for the single, directed by Hype Williams and featuring Nas being crucified, was the subject of extreme controversy,
as the original edit also featured Puff Daddy on the cross.
A Catholic, Puffy had demanded that his crucifixion scene be excised from the broadcast edit of the video, but the wrong edit was incorrectly sent to MTV and TRL, and aired on April 15, 1999.
Within minutes of the broadcast, Puffy had barged into the offices of Nas' manager Steve Stoute with several bodyguards, and struck Stoute over the head with a champagne bottle.
Stoute later sued Puffy, the suit was settled out of court.
Nas later related the making of the song and the subsequent incident:
"It was a track D-Moet Produced for Foxy Brown, and she didn't want the record, she didn't like it.
It fit with my album, I Am...,
so I did the D-Moet track and it sounded perfect for Puff to be on, so I gave it to him, went to the studio, and he rocked it, knocked it out.
I wanted him to talk that shit on there, because that "Victory" record was my favorite record, with him and B.I.G., and I just wanted him to talk some of his shit on there.
I had him screaming a whole bunch of wild shit on here, and cats were slam-dancing to it in New York. It was really crazy, out of this world.
At that point, I started wearing a huge chain, and I think me and Puff at that point started that bling shit and took it to the next level, and we did the video, and it was out of this world.
There's a play in New York City where a black man played Jesus, and caught a lot of flak. I think, even the mayor at the time, Giuliani, was against it.
So my thing was I wanted to be crucified like Jesus in the video, to get back at all those people that don't want to see a black man doing his thing.
Me and Puff got hammered to the cross, but after Puff expressed his religious beliefs and speaking to his pastor, he wasn't ready to take that stance, so it was really my idea anyway, so we took his part out.
For some reason, I think [my former manager] Steve Stoute let it fly with Puffy still being crucified to the cross, so there was that fight at the office, where Puff jumped on Steve or some shit like that.
Both of them were friends of mine, so I kind of stepped in and squashed the whole thing, and it's all in the past. Just growing pains. We were all growing up.
That brings back a lot of memories. Even when I throw it on onstage now, it still kills."[1]
Release and Performance
The single was released in Italy with a version in which Puff Daddy was substituted by the Italian rapper Frankie Hi-NRG MC, and in Germany featuring Afrob.
The song peaked at #62 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
The beat for "Hate Me Now" was later used for the song "Fight Music" by 2Pac in one of his posthumous mixtapes, Rap Phenomenon II.
The beat was also used by Cam'Ron and Jim Jones to diss Nas for calling Cam'Ron's album "wack" on their mixtape, Diplomats Vol. 2. Eminem, 2Pac, Bizzy Bone, DMX, & Common made a remix to this song.
Scott Storch Heading To L.A. To Work On Detox By Chuck "Jigsaw" Creekmur
AllHipHop.com:
Well, what are you working on these days?
Scott Storch:
I am headed to L.A. to work with Dr. Dre on his next album.
AllHipHop.com:
I don't want to get too off course, but do you care to give any insight on the Detox album?
Dre's got people waiting forever.
Scott Storch:
That seems to be his trend and every time he comes out, its amazing.
I don't want to spill the beans on exactly the direction he's going but its definitely different than that last one.

Earl Hayes; Go Hard (Produced by Jerome Harmon)
Continuing with the theme of persistence and determination,
Earl Hayes delivers a track in motivational style about pushing on and not stopping when met with opposition.
The track’s production from Jerome Harmon, who also contributed to “Venus vs. Mars” on Jay-Z’s The Blueprint 3,
is a synth filled, organ driven beat that pushes and supplements Earl Hayes’ lyrics and subject matter to a higher level.
Here's another Earl Hayes feature;

Raptalk Exclusive: DJ Silk & Chocolate: Detox & More
http://www.dubcnn.com/connect/index.php?topic=241335.msg2434958#msg2434958
Raptalk.Net:
And what’s your involvement in “Detox” right now and what do you believe is the status of that record?
DJ Silk:
Of course I’m Slim’s DJ as well as one of his producers, Chocolate’s partner. Our involvement is to do what we can actually.
So far, we have one solid track on “Detox” which is ridiculous.
I’m blessed and proud to actually have the talent to make it on “Detox.”
There are a lot of guys that did a lot of work and didn’t make it on “Detox.”
It was good work but Dre is a perfectionist. If it’s not ultimately dope shit, it’s not gonna’ go there.
Whoever is doing records right now, when “Detox” drops, get in research mode because this dude is doing musical movies. It’s beyond a song now. He’s the Steven Spielberg of music. I truly and honestly believe, and I know that now. Dre plays all kinds of instruments.
He doesn’t even need our help; put it that way. I’m blessed to at least have a few joints on there.
Chocolate:
It’ll be hard for me to say how many joints Dre got done. Me and DJ Silk, we’re working right now trying to come up with more joints for the “Detox” album.
We have, we know we made the record.
We have a joint on “Detox” that is a hot joint and Dre did his thing on it.
I think that the status of it, I couldn’t tell you.
The man is a perfectionist. I do know that it is coming out though (laughs).
Raptalk.Net:
Where are you sonically taking the production on the one track that you know made it for sure?
DJ Silk:
On that particular joint,
I would tell you the title but there are a lot of funny things with leaks and hackers going on right now.
It’s a good record, we know we have at least one solid joint on the “Detox” album.
If I hear anything new from Dre confirming we have more records, will link up and do another interview or update.
You guys will hear it soon. For me, Dre lets us do what we do best.
I don’t know for sure, but Dre doesn’t like people trying to be like him.
You have those producers who try to produce tracks of something he may possibly conjure up.
They don’t even know what level he is on right now.
Anything they can come up with is something they heard way back in the day.
Dre loves us for what we do now; for what we’re groomed to do. He likes us to be ourselves.
The whole record is live. It’s actually played. You won’t hear too many real samples on the record.
That’s why I said he’s making musical movies. It’s like an orchestra playing.
It’s like having Mozart in there with ?uestlove.
Raptalk.Net:
Silk & Chocolate have a record on “Detox.”
Chocolate, you read my D.O.C. interview “Detox & Surgery” and even left us a nice comment on the page.
D.O.C. said in that interview that he thinks the album would have been done in November.
Chocolate:
I mean, Dre has been working hard on this record. His mind is so genius.
I’ve watched him work and I’m like wow, this dude will play anything you put in front of him.
He doesn’t…how could I put it? Dre is like a real maestro.
He leads you to the right notes and to the right placements and shit.
When you hear certain shit and don’t know where to place it, Dre knows where to place it at.
He’s just a perfectionist so you can’t really say where he’s at on his record and I couldn’t tell you.
I know that we’re still working. He’s done us good.
Since we’ve been working on this record, we’ve been out of town to get a change of environment and worked in other states and cities.
He’s done us right just to get a different feel and vibe in order to make that music that you wouldn’t have thought about just by sitting in that same place all the time.
You need a different view sometimes. Dre is probably, I couldn’t tell you how many songs he has done.
Raptalk.Net:
We probably can’t even count that high.
Chocolate:
He has so much hot shit. That’s why I say it’s crazy.
You can’t place anything with what the man does. It has to be perfect.
When they hear this mans record, the world is going to see why they waited so long for this record (laughs).
That’s what I can truly tell you.
When the world hears this record, they’re gonna’ be like ok, it was worth the fucking wait.
Raptalk.Net:
When people talk about the “Chronic 2001” team, people come up with the names Hittman, Scott Storch, Xzibit, Eminem, Knoc-turn’al, Mel-Man and people like that.
If you had to name a few names in your mind that make up the “Detox” team, which names would you drop?
Chocolate:
From me being around, I’ve seen a lot of them come in and do hot shit.
But I don’t know what’s actually been cited to make the record. I don’t want to speak on names and they don’t make the record. I don’t know.
A lot of records have leaked and Dre has put a real hold, he’s tightened down on everything.
What he plays is what we hear. I’ve heard a lot of hot joints and seen a lot of different artists come in and do songs with him but I don’t know if they made the record.
That is why I don’t want to say this joint with such and such. I’ve seen some big names come in.
Raptalk.Net:
I respect that you can’t drop names so without dropping names, how do you think the “Detox” team or the people you’ve seen come in…
Chocolate:
Heavy. They came in and did their thing very heavy. Dre is never gonna’ look away from his people.
You know he’ll always keep Snoop [Dogg] somewhere in there. I know he has a joint with Snoop.
He still keeps some of those around. Really with that, it’s hard to say. I don’t even know if that made the record.
That is why I don’t want to be saying stuff. From what I’m looking at, the best way I could put it is everybody is still getting their chance to come and do what they’ve done before for him.
He hasn’t turned his back on anyone. That’s the best way I could put it.
.......
Raptalk.Net:
Wow, there y’all have it – Chocolate & DJ Silk is on “Detox” & is working to get on “Relapse 2.”
There are some rumors going around that Xzibit has been back in the camp really heavy and that Dre is doing his entire album. Have you gotten any word on that?
Chocolate:
No. I know Xzibit came in and did a hook for Slim The Mobster. I don’t know the status of that though.
I haven’t seen Xzibit in the studio. Actually, when we’re working with Slim, Dre is in another studio not far from us but we’re not in his sessions.
We’re in a whole different studio doing our thing and Dre is doing his thing. We’ve always basically worked like that unless we’re in the same building with Dre. Most of the time we’re at a different building that is close.
So I’m not in on all the sessions to see who has come in and out all the time.
I come in on certain days and see certain people come in.
it’s always short and brief and I’m back to doing what I’m doing at another studio working.
Raptalk.Net:
Is it safe to say that Slim won’t drop until after “Detox?”
Chocolate:
Slim has tons of songs (laughs). That’s kind of hard to say but I think it would be safe to say that it’ll be after “Detox.”
Raptalk.Net:
It would make sense from a strategic standpoint.
Chocolate:
He’s definitely the front man for the tour, the opening act. That’s the first act. I would say it’ll be safe to say he’ll be out after “Detox” and not before.
Raptalk.Net:
Have you worked with Bishop Lamont and Stat Quo at all?
Chocolate:
Never. I’ve known Bishop [Lamont] for years but we never got around to working together.
I’ve been on Bishop since he was young, about 17 or 18 rapping at that time.
I’ve known him for years, knew his brothers over there. I’ve never worked with him though.
Raptalk.Net:
There are more rumors claiming that he was dropped.
I know sometimes you’re not even in the same building, but have you seen him at all recently?
Chocolate:
Nope. I haven’t seen him at all (laughs).

DR. DRE : ‘DETOX UNLIKELY TO SEE RELEASE BEFORE 2011
www.hiphopgalaxy.com/DRE-DETOX-UNLIKELY-TO-SEE-RELEASE-BEFORE-2011-hip-hop-10327.html
DR. DRE is in no rush to finish his long-awaited album DETOX – confessing it’s unlikely to be released before 2011.
The rapper has been working on the highly-anticipated disc, his first since 1999’s Chronic 2001, for years and had previously promised fans it would hit stores by the end of 2009.
In October (2009), Dre revealed he was unhappy with the tracks and was heading back into the studio to perfect his songs for an expected release this year (2010).
Dre told ABC News, “I’ve been working on (Detox) for the last 10 years.
Hopefully I’ll get it done at the end of this year and we can hear it next year.”
But now the Forgot About Dre star admits fans shouldn’t hold their breath for Detox just yet
– because he’s still too busy working on other artists’ albums to complete his own.
He tells the upcoming March (2010) issue of Slam magazine,
“Well, I’m working on it (Detox), but also I’ve been working on other people’s projects ; you’ll probably hear something in a year or so.”

Say what now Rebel? Are you talking about 50 leaving Interscope/ Shady not being distributed by Interscope anymore ?
Nope :)Oh the song Rain.. i vaguely remember something about it but nothing much until i saw ...
There's a clue in the comment you quoted of mine.
he's talking about the bishop lamont song "rain" which was produced by Dre and Khalil...THIS. Bishop on a Dre Khalil track ? This can be nothing short of dope.
Did it leak or get released?Indeed. and yeah did it leak ? Rebel ! talk to me homie ;D
There the two producers I'm most interested in hearing together.
Khalil was co-producer on the Reformation or just the song?
Who's the executive producer for the Reformation?
It didn't leak. But fans are going to start getting songs as promo for "The Reformation" this summer since it will be coming out sooner than expected. And Khalil was a co-producer. Dre is the main producer and the song features New Royales. Very very very dope 8)

From left to right - Game, Sly, Dr. Dre, and Hayes
Detox, some say this album doesn't exist. However, some say it does exist but they have given up hope of it coming out. Well, I have some rumors in regards to Detox and a lot of confirmed things. The following artists have all recorded or written for the current version of Detox - The Game, Slim Da Mobsta, Hayes, Kurupt, Jay Z, Eminem, D.O.C., Busta Rhymes, Bishop Lamont, and Sly. This is confirmed.
Surprisingly, Sir Jinx is contributing to Detox as well and is turning out some great stuff as well. Out of all the artists on there, Sly is the one bringing the most noise. He is contributing a shit ton of ideas to Detox. Sly is like the new Mel-Man in regards to Detox's direction. Dr. Dre is taking direction from Sly, Eminem, D.O.C., and a few others when it comes to the sound.
The sound is apparently very poppy and very catchy, but still D.R.E. Apparently, Dr. Dre has changed up his rapping style for Detox as well, but it still sounds very good. So, I guess we can safely assume that Detox will be a surprise in regards to the whole sound. There's some other surprises in regards to whom Dr. Dre is getting in the studio with, but I got to keep that under wraps. More information coming to Hoodstars very soon.

^ I couldve written that article Hoodstars don't know shit.
interesting, Kurupt in the mix.
so bishop lamont is still involved, just differently?
cool, sounds like getting the best of both sidesinteresting, Kurupt in the mix.

He's still writing for and shit (turning out good stuff or so I was told), just not on Aftermath anymore.
