it all depends on your activitiy, age and a few other things to know how much calories you should be consuming everyday... i think its the ZONE diet that you are refering too...

but nah seriously before you think of doing a diet check out the diet you're interested in or if you don't know what the hell you're doing then you REALLY need to talk to your doctor/physician/personal trainer etc.
or maybe just stop eating the bullshit and start cooking healthy meals at home.

Honestly man, you need to eat healthy, but that wont make you lose weight as such, you gotta get out there and do physical exercise, go for a few runs a week, play ball, whatever.
You should make a schedule, you'll be more disciplined to stick with it that way.

i ain't gonna lie..it's hard setting a schedule..because i get busy with other shit..but ya i need dicipline..

Don't just buy into some diet. Talk to your doctor and see what's best for you. Maybe get an alergy test too.

Just don't eat alot of crap and make decent meals.

vegetables, baked chicken/fish, water/gateorade, no sweets.
if you still feel like somethings missing after your dinner, try a cesears sald...works almost all the time. ;)

There's no secret. You simply take in less than you need to sustain your current weight. Less calories = weight loss. Eat healthy and 5-6 times a day. Exercise helps speed up the process.
It's simple, the hard part is being disciplined.

What he said. Also, when you do eat that many times, make sure your portions are smaller. Smaller portions, but more frequency. Practice leaving food on your plate. Get rid of soda / pop or sugary drinks and replace with water. Drink AT LEAST 8 cups of water a day. You'll be pissin like a motherfucker, but thats good. Plus water fills you up, and it also keeps your metabolism going.
Don't eat out - cook at home. Exercise daily along with watching your diet and your results will come exponentially faster. Also, allow one day (I'd say like a saturday) and allow yourself to eat a bad meal or two. Moderation is the key to maintaining your weight - you don't have to give shit up, just keep it in check.
And when you say you might get too busy to exercise, then you probably need to ask yourself how committed you really are to losing weight. Good luck.

At the moment I'm actually trying to gain weight in muscle, so I'm not streamlining my diet for now. After the holidays though, I'm gonna cut my calories big time.
I did what I said earlier this summer and I lost about 20 pounds in 6 weeks. It was fat only because I could notice I had more definition. That's another thing, you have to to light weight lifting and heavy cardio if you wanna lose weight. If you don't do the weight lifting, you wont just lose fat, you'll lose all your muscle......unless you actually want to go for the marathon bike riding look.

I'm pretty disciplined. I know shit won't change unless I put effort into it.
I'm in the other boat, I am trying to gain some weight and lifting; I said I would work out 3 times a week in-between Mon-Fri, sometimes I go for 4, this has been 5 weeks straight now. It's pretty handy because I got some basic equipment at home, so I can crank up some music and roll through an album while I work.

without gettin too complicated and specific about ur situation, heres the general deal
1. cut out the bullshit, fast food, junk food, pop
2. drink lots of water, and try to have an occasional fruit or vegetable
3. eat often but small portions throughout the day
4. 3-4 days of workin out, involvin cardio and weights
if ure not in better shape within 3-4 months then i aint the King
the above is how King Tech went from 285 lbs to 225 lbs over a year

i've lost up to 10 kg's before fights, cut the portions down to 50-60 %, n eat 5 times a day.dont eat anything after 18.00 pm..thats what i do, also try eatin more healthy.good luck!

And enjoy life and once a week, eat whatever you want. Like someone above said, it's about moderation. Once a week you can go out and eat, drink whatever you want. Just go back to your regulr routine the next day.

I lost 57 pounds in laess then 6 months,you have to have willpower man.......you drink water befor eyou eat,and also man you should really think hard about losing weight cuz of diabetes(I know Thats what I have)
