it builds anticipation and gives more credibility to the art as a concentrated effort

Exactly. Too many artists are quick to talk about what they’re working on until the anticipation fizzles out LONG before a release IF it even happens. Look at Nas over the past few years. Gives a week’s notice and releases while the hype is at it’s peak.
