Xzibit Off Columbia, Enter Koch, New Album In 2006 - May 23

Xzibit is off Columbia, and will release his next album on Koch Records, late 2006 to keep up with his "1 album every second year" schedule since 1996.
Xzibit is currently working on the new album, but there is no information about producers or album title yet.

Koch is looking to become a powerhouse in hiphop, with artists like Snoop Dogg, Dogg Pound, Alchemist, Rick Ross, Ghostface, DJ Khaled, Scarface, Sheek Louch, M.O.P., D-Block, RZA, Cormega, Diplomats, Wyclef Jean, etc. all having released albums on Koch, or planning to do so.

Yeah, its not like it really matter. Columbia never really had his back anyways.

Yeah, maybe he's keeping the title and the tracks, but they scrapped the August release date, Koch rarely push albums back, so "late 2006" looks likely.

I'm looking forward to hear his new album. WOMD was a tight effort in my opinion. The only time I was disappointed by X was when he dropped Man vs. Machine. I mean, most of the time his lyrics were good, but I don't feel the majority of the beats.

I also heard its being executive produced by Keith Shocklee, who is 25% of the legendary Bomb Squad (Public Enemy, Ice Cube).

Xzibit + Bomb Squad =  :o :o :o

Hopefully with X on Koch, he won't be pressured to make a commercial album.

It's gotta be a little bit degrading to an artist's self-esteem to go from the majors to Koch, but at least it means the quality of their music will probably be better for it.
