I remember a few people saying this cd had its moments so i decided to check it out, what are some good songs on it?
-
I bumped that album like 1 time only :-\ . I think im gonna
wipe the dust from it today and give it some spins.
-
only ones i can remember are scrape thru the hood, i get high 2, and ride n roll.

Those and Gangstas Pt. 2, Accessories, fuck it the whole album is good. A couple weak cuts but alot of people that diss the album have not even heard it before.
-
whole thing is pretty good, I can let it play for hours/days and not get tired of it. Lyrically Kurupts consistent with it. Of course the death row purists will say otherwise, production is pretty consistent as every track except "I DiD It" is Daz Dillinger produced. I think this album just really slipped under radars because I know damn well with time, after it marinates it could be considered his 3rd or 2nd best right under Space Boogie however you're feeling about that album as well.
-
Wasn't expecting much. I was a bit suprised by it.
I Still bump:
O.G. Gangstaz Pt.2
Scrape Thru Tha Hood
Ryde & Roll
Accesories (Nina Breeda)
Ain't That Somethin'

Yeah if you are expecting Death Row Kurupt then yeah it sucks, but he really sounded focused on it and Daz had some bangin beats on there. Like 4108 said, I think over time people will be in here saying how much they liked the album.

its got replay value. although kurupt came shitty as hell with most his lyrics, its still a listenable record & daz came up with some a grade shit behind the boards.
-

i meant that in a good way ::)
-
i like this album, kurupts not bad on it, daz's production is quality as ever, ryde and roll is a fuckin banger reminds me of like 2001 daz from the RAW era
-
The album was better than I expected but it was still nowhere close to as what I thought it would it be, Daz did a good job of producing the album but Kurupt just doesnt do what he used to do on the mic, he has fell off so bad :-\

Daz lately has had alot of co producers but I think a Dogg Chit album with beats by Ivan Johnson, Daz, Soopafly Alchemist and Fred Wreck would be dope. It would be cool to have Snoop on a couple of tracks too. All Kurupt gotta do is bring some heat lyrically. If they could sell around 100k like they did on the last one, Daz n Kurupt will have some loot.
-
i thought it was a dope album ass gd up album.
-
top 4 songs on SDDS are:
Ryde & Roll
I Get High 2
As Time Fly By (feat. Daz)
Accessories
-
best album of the year forme, bagnger all the way thru, i dislike gangsta pt 2 most, just cuz the beat is too crazy, but damn its a great album
-
don't forget ain't that somethin
-
Album was Horrible
-
I thought it was terrible....I only played it once, and skimmed through it a second time. It had like 3-4 all right songs that were listenable but nothing great. There were some songs that I would hit "next" after only hearin 15 seconds. It didn't even sound like something I could grow on at all.
-
i dont know how people say this album is good
I was just listening ot Kurupt Space Boogy and so many songs stood out
then i listened to say day different shit.... and all the songs pretty much sounded the same or very uninteresting

so you are going to tell me this album is better than Ice Cube's new album, Game's album, Tech N9ne's album, e40's album.....etc etc
comon now..... ::)

I do not think it is better than Tha Streetz or Space Boogie or Kuruption, but I do not think that it is bad as everyone says either. But that is just me. I can respect both opinions on it.
I think we are all used to Kurupt the Kingpin and we are quick to compare his new work with his DR days and that is not going to happen. He can still bring it sometimes and I thought he did that on this album. It's like if he does rap well on a track that still is not good enough for people.
-
Basically:
When a great rapper drops an album far into his career don't expect it to be as good as his earlier releases. It's not fair to him and your expectations won't be met. Appreciate it for what it is, more good material from one of the all time best. Should people hate on Ice Cube and say Laugh Now, Cry Later can't compare to Amerikkka's Most or Death Certificate? No because it's not fair. Very few rappers have put out great albums late in their career. And no one I can think of has put out their best album at the end of their career. So instead of being overly critical of what they do put out, just appreciate it for what it is.

I thought the album was actually pretty good. It spent a good 3 months in my cars 6 disk. Lyrically there’s little surprises but Kurupt’s cadence and content make for very easy listening/cruising music and as far as production Daz (and helpers) came through with some solid beats. The production on “I get high 2” for example is enough to give you Dr. Dre “Doggystyle” era flashbacks and beats like “Scrape thru the hood” and “Yes I’m Quiccer” while modern, are still heavy in Daz styled production. All in all, I’d give the album a 7 out of 10. Kurupt probably made it in a week and for that amount of work he did a good job.

He came shitty with the lyrics on ATG too. A few good cuts on there but if this album is wack that one is horrible too.
