This dude's a fucking idiot if he really believes he's going multi-plat...

Or if he believes his album is actually gonna get released, for that matter.

C'mon. He just tries to be optimistic with multi-plat statement. Lots of rappers do that. "Or if he believes his album is actually gonna get released," True.

So when hotrod says hes going multi plat, hes an idiot. But when Game says hes selling 5 million and a first week of 900,000, hes just thinking clearly. Double standards on this forum, and G-Unit hating is getting annoying.

EVERYONE HYPES THEMSELVES. thats what rappers do. And if their labels don't see their artists hyping up their own projects, they get worried. ITS THEIR JOBS TO SAY IT.

Wow what a douche.  He did say something that got me pumped up though:

Aftermathmusic.com:
Do you expect to sell platinum? Is that realistic in your mind?

Hot Rod:
If I don't sell platinum I'll kill myself twice.

So I'm looking forward to that.  And why in the flying fuck would you sign a 6 album deal to G-Unit?

Well first, I agree that these dudes are gonna say theyre gonna be successful.  They're not gonna say they're gonna flop.  So I don't understand why that question gets asked.  You're just gonna get the same tired rehashed answer.  If we must talk business instead music, Instead of asking if they're gonna go plat, lets ask them how many points they get per album.  So if they do sell $1MM, how much do they net?  I think we need to start bringing that shit to light.  Lets get into specifics of their contracts.  I bet you the majority of these rappers don't know the details of their shit, they just hear "platinum" and think it's good for them.  These guys always HYPE themselves on how much of a business man they, lets see them back it up.

Ask him his reasoning for signing a 6 album deal in this day and age.  Has he not seen the declining sales trends for major labels for the past several years?  Did they give him $1MM bucks for that deal?  How much of that does he have to recoup?  Lets test these motherfuckers.

Oh and I almost forgot - this motherfucker couldn't even answer many of the questions asked of him:

Ok The Mr. AKA, who influenced you to start rappin?

Hot Rod:
I've always been into music from an early age. I've always been into the beats before lyrics, so I actually started out as a producer and ended up fallin in love with rap while doin it. I just had so much style and sag on the mic that people couldn't help but gravitate toward my music. I've influenced a lot of people musically that I've come in contact with. And its just because of my style and my confidence in being myself as an artist.

huh?

Thats good, how would you describe your style?

Hot Rod:
My style's fuckin amazing. (laughs) like, wow, shit, I am the shit on the mic I'm number one, but I am also number two because I'm the shit. (laughs) Yeeeaaaa. Damn I need to stop drinking this damn Red Bull and Jager.

ok...

Does beef keep G-Unit in shape? Because sometimes it seems that some of the beefs could have been avoided and on the other side, sometimes beef brings the best ouf of an artist!

Hot Rod:
Beef is fun till the guns come out, shots fired man down.

what the fuck?  And when he does answer one, he really sums up what he's about:

Aftermathmusic.com:
What do you wish to accomplish in the game?

Hot Rod:
I wanna be, excuse me, I'm gonna be a multi-million selling artist, get my label 150 ENT crackin, puttin AZ and Sactown on my back, piss off all the hating ass niggas, and be respected in the game as a nigga that has that new west coast swag sound. I'm that new nigga man. And I'm a beast. Call me Black Bauer. Shouts out to my peoples Kiefer Sutherland.

lol, not one comment about music.  Everything he said is on some status shit.  Sounds like pure hustler, no care for hip hop.  I hope you guys can see this shit.

This is the answer id like to hear to the question of do you expect to sell platinum? Is that realistic in your mind?

"Platinum aint important the most important thing is making the best possible album i can, so those who do buy it get value for money. Quality is more important than sales. "

I aint gonna hear that though, especially from someone who is signed to G Unit.

If they were indie, they wouldn't have to do NEAR the sales numbers as a major and still get mad paper.  Most of these guys are idiots / attention whores who'd rather say they went platinum on G-Unit and get invited to parties and shit than get that indie money.  These dudes aren't even smart hustlers.  They're on some status / hype shit which is all they're about.

When Game said that he was gonna do those numbers before D.A. dropped, he was already an established artist, more importantly he was at that point an artist that people had actually heard of. He went multi-plat already. Hot Rod has been around for all of 8 months, with one single\video...with little to no legitimate spins and he's talking about selling 2 mil?

I get that rappers gotta hype themselves up...but this cat is clearly on some nonsense shit. People don't go out and buy records like they used to, shit is different now. How is an upstart gonna outsell veterans based on his label alone...dude believes his own hype.

^ I agree with that. Hot Rod isn't very good from what i've heard. Like all G-Unit artists, they try to hard to appeal to the mainstream and end up making watered down music. A street G-Unit record would be pretty good. Its too bad their obsessed with sales.

The problem is really the interviewers, they ask stupid assed questions they already know the answers too. Dubcnn always asks great questions, and it seems they actually know a lot about the artists. Others just ask generic questions to everyone.

^^word, interview was not great, but this nigga had a chance to get some good thoughts out off people through that interview, and the only thing he succeeded in doing was making himself look retarded......the interviewer may not have been great but someone else could have had that oppurtunity to promote themselves and tried a lil harder to co-operate with that cat.....i'm sure if 50 has not already, will let him know that these interviews and shit aint no game, he wanna blow, he better man a lil....everyone acts stupid in interviews and shit now and again, but to start off on some of the bullshit this cat was on, aint no excuse, cat probably will not ever release a solo for a long ass time atleast.....and this shit will not help him, if he continues like this, nigga gon get clowned hard like spider loc was and then he will have no chance of dropping a cd, whether he aight or wack
