KRS-One will be doing his temple of hip hop performance lecture at my school (Cal State San Bernardino) on Tuesday April 10th, 4p-6pm. Got one ticket fuckin' FREE cause I'm a student and then just TEN bucks for another non student ticket. I have a class during the performance but am considering ditching the class. even if i don't see it, 10 bucks for two KRS tickets is ridiculous. anyway, anyone around the IE, down to see KRS? as i said, i don't know if i'm gonna go so i don't yet know the fate of these tickets.

i thought of you when i picked them up, i would give you both tickets in a heart beat homey. i'll be the first to admit you'd be more suited for the KRS performance than me.

anyway, school is crazy...i realized since i just switched into a new math class I really need to go on tuesday to that (that's 4-6, then i have a geology lab 6-9, and I don't know anyone in either class), so seriously, anyone in so cal want these tickets?
it's a 'performance lecture'. My friend has a CD of KRS doing this stuff, it's like a lot of speeches and some raps, some spoken word type poems, some rhyming/freestyling/poem games. cool shit. he has this one song he does with a dude and guitar called 'he's so arrogant' it's dope.

the class is from 4pm to 6pm...exactly when the KRS lecture takes place...fuck, and I have a lab at 6 so i couldn't try to linger and talk to dude either....SUCKS. I remember last time there was a speaker at the school, it was easy to get one on one time with them...fuuuuuuck man.

So I had a lab at 6pm. KRS was scheduled to go on at 5. I stayed till 5:30 and dude had not come out yet so i had to go to class. so basically i paid ten bucks to sit in a room with a bunch of students while a bunch of KRS songs played and then I saw this projector screen say "KEEP RIGHT "THE DVD"" while the songs in the background started to SKIP at which point me and my homey left and blazed a J to some mac mall on the way to class.

exactly, I'm not tripping of the ten dollars. KRS is cool, it's not his fault I had a lab. he was scheduled to perform from 5 to 7pm, so I'm sure the people that stayed got a cool 1hr20 min or so.

You better skip your class to go see it. KRS-1 truly is "the teacher". He is hip-hop like nobody else. He's deep on so many different levels. I have his book "Rumination" and it came with many lectures as well, it will definitely give you many things to think about and broaden your perspective.
By the way, what's up with the "non-black ticket"? Is it different price for non-black students?

Jesus Christ, it looks like all of a sudden you've got the whole board against you... 12 hours later and you've dropped another 8. I must've missed them threads, because I don't hang out in the westcoast section at all, but this sudden wave of hate is kinda ridiculous, because knowing your style, I bet you didn't go around randomly insulting them. People don't respect opposing visions anymore... +1 for keeping it real :)

...caught the last 30min of it, for the 30min I was there it was really tigh...KRS is full of energy and made a lot of good points. He talked mostly about living a good racial-free life, and he used real life examples and was very active, just got annoyed of him calling himself the "teacha" all the time but he did a couple of freestyles too. I recommend anyone to go see him if he goes to your school
o yea he claims he teaches at harvard...dunno if thats true or not, anyone ever research that?

i'm sure he's done some lectures maybe even some classes but I don't think he is an accredited teacher/has a professorship at Harvard
