I never understood why they did this
Daz: was bumpin "Doggy Dogg World" today and that n1gga had a real smooth flow now he's trying to be some hard ass flow and tries to rap fast but comes off as just sounding like he got something up his ass
DJ Quik: another n1gga with a smooth ass flow who now in some songs just sounds wack trying to sound hard with his soft voice.
-
Daz didnt have an identity as a rapper then. He was either always biting Snoop's southern drawl or being outshined by Kurupt/Rage/RBX. Lyrically NOW he's had his better verses as well.
-
quiks gotta identity crisis goin on right now
-
I always liked Daz's flow when he would sound all jamaican like such as on Lil Ghetto Boy and The Day The Niggaz Took Over.

I agree
Daz used to have a tight as fuck flow, second best only to snoop on doggystyle
-
I like when Quik does the Jamaican accent too, like on his "Bombudd" songs and "Me Wants To Rip Your Girl".
-
i dont think daz has changed up that much.... if he has at all its not that noticeable... its not as good as it used to be but i think him and snoop have the nicest flows outta dpg

"Dem wonder why me violent and no really understand
For de reason why me take me law, in me own, hand
Me not out for peace and me not Rodney King
De gun goes - click, me gun goes - bang
Dem riot in Compton and dem riot in Long Beach
Dem riot in L.A. cause dem no really wanna see
niggaz start to loot and police start to shoot
Lock us down at seven o'clock, barricades us like Beirut
Me don't show no love cause it's us against dem
Dem never ever love me cause it's sport to break dem
and kill, at my own risk, if I may
to lay, to spray, with my AK, and put it to rest"
One of the best Daz verses ever 8)

I loved Quik's flow and voice.. just like Eazy, but he started fuckin' it up on "Trauma" on tracks like "Fandango", now it's even worst.

-
^^ yeah maybe your right..but i put a mix together with like 5-6 regea-ish tracks by quik, hi-c 2ndIInone etc and it was good... wish i had more..
-
Yeah, Daz had better flow, when it was mo' lite, but now - Daz and hard flow? I ain't and I won't be accustomed to this flow...
-
For once, I completely agree with the thread starter (about Daz).He was sooooo smooth on pretty much everything he rapped on up to Retaliation...After that he became almost unlistenable to me, because I couldn't stand his yellin' ass.
I can say the same thing about Yuk.On the first two Luniz albums, and before that, he was great. But when I listened to that Thug Lord album I was really saddened to hear his trying to be too hard flow on 80 % of the tracks.
Dunno, maybe it's just me, but Daz and Yuk's smooth flows was great to me, after they switched up it was :-\

Have you heard Yuk's last album Godzilla? Because he switched his flow up on there. It is much smoother than his previous solos.

Pretty much that whole album, Yuk had the smooth flow. I remember he said in a interview what you were saying and he heard the fans wanted him to change back so he did.

yeah that verse is dope as fuck
and yeah everyone changes they styles a lil tho.... daz is still cool
-
truthfully.. iv liked all of Dazs flows.. he can sound good over hard shit, smooth shit, west coast shit, southern shit, hyphy shit, everything.. but i agree about the DJ Quik comment.. even some of his flows on Rhythm Al Ism sounded bad to me though... but Quiks flow on Can Werk That is HORRIBLE, i cant even listen to his part, AMG is tite on it though
-
WTF..........I NEEEEVER knew that was Daz doin that Jamaican accent on Chronic, I had nooooo idea who it was!! WTF??
But I personally think Quik and Daz have always had some of the best flows in the game, even when they switched up. For the last few years, I've tended to prefer Daz over Kurupt, strictly because of his flow.
