I rarely ever have heard a wack beat from him, his flow is always on point and one of the bright spots of DPG over the years while others have had their ups and downs Soopa has always stayed consistent, it would be nice for him to get some shine plus I think Snoop sounds good on his beats, my favorite Snoop track in the last few years was Da Bidness where he was beasting over a Soopa beat 8)
-
Yeah Soopa is slept on. He experiments with alot of different sounds on his production. Really to me he gives the DPGC a more updated sound. I was listening to Bangin Westcoast last night. Dope shit. He has been my favorite Dogg Pound member for about the past 5 years or so. I hope that Westurn Union will give him some more exposure to the rest of the world what he can do.

while daz keeps it g funk(which isnt a bad thing) soopa always experiments and bring a fresh dpg sound, definitly underrated
tht bang out beat with kurupt , daz and snoop from this year is bangin 8)

Yeah Soopa will experiment with a little jazz, rock, r&b, whatever and not many of his beats sound the same. I love that Introduction 2 Mayhem beat he did on YKWITU. That was on some rock/hip hop hybrid shit.
-
i think he's one of the freshest right now. he manages to keep it g funk maybe not as much as daz but he incorporates a lot of new and different shit into it.
he flows nice as hell on the mic too.

I heard alot of the Daz beats back in the day were actually Soopa beats that he sold to him, I know he coproduced some with Daz

Wouldn't surprise me. I heard Soopafly used to play the piano in the church when he was younger. Then he was the keyboardist on alot of the early Death Row hits. Alot of producers start off doing keys first then get into full fledged production. Scott Storch was the same way.

yeah I think he started out in '94 with DR and I know his album was shelved "Like It Or Not" and Daz took some of those tracks and put them on other releases

Dat Whoopty Woop is basically the entire Like It Or Not album with a few tracks added on. Daz stole the masters from the DR studio when he left and put it out.

I've always enjoyed Soopa more on the mic than I have behind the boards, funnily enough. I wouldn't neccessarily name him one of my top West Coast producers, but I certainly think he's underrated as a rapper.

he pulled that with D&YG too, I know "Dip Wit Me", "We Living Gangsta Like" "Don't Stop" were DR tracks that they did for their next album on Death Row but I guess Death Row had the masters and released them on 2002 but Daz tweaked them a little with Mike Dean and put them on D&YG and The Last Of Tha Pound

And Makaveli & Dillinger. Yeah Daz's and Mike's tweaks were much better than what would have been left there to work with. Daz should use Soopafly more for his mixing and mastering of his tracks. Either him or Mike Dean again.

One of the dopest rappers from the DPG & Soopa's beats always been bangin, except for a few...
-
Man, Soopas wackest beats are Average. Thats saying a lot......Hes a crazy producer, and he has a dope flow. Probably one of the few that can be in the category of 'most complete mc' (I personally think Soopas rhymes are doper than Quiks, but thats just my opinion).
My fav artist Period.
Also he brings the best out in Dazs production. When them 2 are together making beats, shits always fire.
Soopa started off on DR in about 94 playing keys. A lot of his work was uncredited and Daz paid him under the table. Thats where their friendship started. Then he learnt how to rhyme be hanging out with the likes of Kurupt and Snoop and what not.
Anywayz yeah hes definately underrated.
-
he is def one of the best westcoast producers out there :)
-
I bump Dat Whoopty Woop all the fucking time. Soopafly is a dope producer and got some good tracks.
-
"I'll Beacho Azz" (Daz), "In California" (Daz), "Don't Stop" (Daz), "Round We Go" (Bad Azz), "Only In California" (Mack 10), "Who Got Some Gangsta Shit?" (DPG), "Pussy Pop" (Xzibit) and alot of his own beats are all classic, Soopa's remixes been always dope too (Snoop's Upside Ya Head & Nuthin But The Cavi Hit)

Soopafly is dope. Great producer and good rapper. Fine in my books.
