At the end of the season, I think the teams that will end up having the best starting rotation will be the Brewers and the Angels.

I'm interested to hear why you think the brew crew will have the best starting rotation by the end of the year.  Because Ben Sheets has about an ice cubes chance in hell of staying healthy for a whole season.

Mets probably have the best rotation.

I'm hoping Burnett stays healthy and the Jays rotation can play well this year.

I like our rotation this year. If Bedard doesn't get it done for us I'll hunt him down. Felix has showed flashes of brilliance but hasn't been the most consistent, i'm hoping he can put it all together this year. Miguel was decent last year as was Washburn, it's kind of up in the air but i'm thinking it's gonna be a much better year for our starters.

I think the Pads staff is criminally overrated.  Even though Peavy IMO is the best pitcher in baseball today, I'm not sold on Chris Young.  I think the 2nd half Chris Young is the real Chris Young.  Maddux is what in his 40th season at the age of 62 ?  Randy Wolf yea lol.

peavy is a top 3 pitcher (santana and beckett)

chris young is a solid #2

maddux may be old but he probably teaches everyone on that staff something from his years of experience. and maddux is top 10 all time he can retire on his own terms.

they lose Linebrink which is a big loss but they sitll have Mr Stat Paddler Trevor Coughman in the bullpen

you don't have to worry about him unless its a pressure situation ;)

I was talking just about the starting rotation not the whole staff.  But has Hoffman ever saved a semi important game in his life ?  He even blew the all star game in 06 lol.

As long as he pitches really good for at least 140 innings, the Brewers will be in good shape.  The biggest x-factor for the Brewers will be Carlos Villanueva.  Are they going to send him to AAA to get more innings as a Starter there?  Continue as a reliever?  Or what I hope, continue his his role as a starter like the end of last season where he maintained an ERA of under 2.20.  Also, I expect Yovani Gallardo to have a fantastic year.  A Sheets-Villanueva-Gallardo trio would clearly put it on top, and the rest of the staff is full of average or around average type pitchers.  It might not happen, but I wouldn't be completely surprised if the Brewers starting rotation becomes really dominant.

I gotta go wit' da Mets followed by the Tigers. But that is just on paper. Oh, I can't 4get the Padres, but their bullpen is better imo

Hoffman puts up great stats but has so many 1/3 inning saves (one batter) that his stats make him look better than he is

he blew some world series games against the Yankees in 98

pretty much every big game he has been in he has sucked.  The only big games he did his job was the 98 NLDS and NLCS.  Hoffman is the definition of a complier.

Whats your opinion on Torre as a manager.  Maybe I am blinded by my hatred for the Yanks but I think he is criminally overrated.  This first 6 years of dominance till this day I think Zimmer had a lot of input on the baseball side of things.  And I think Paul O'Neil was the on to keep the club house together.  Plus it didn't hurt having one of the greatest lineups ever assembled.  But after Zimmer left and O'Neil retired he made a lot of questionable decisions on the field and in the clubhouse.    I really think Torre is going to fail in LA.  I think the Dodgers will be a competitive team.  I just don't think he is the manager to get them over the hump.  In Queens we got Joe Torre lite as the manager and I think he is a horrendous in game manager and I know Randolph and Torre are very similar.

It won't take long for the media and Dodger fans to turn on Torre. It's hilarious how most Dodger fans and local media are treating Torre like some sort of savior.  They are comparing him arrival to Phil Jackson's arrival.  That's just stupid.

he's good at handling ego's but i'd rather have Bobby Cox overall.  Torre was a players guy, way too easy on people.

last year bobby abreu, mike mussina and johnny damon all showed up to spring training vastly out of shape--no other manager/coach/whatever would allow that shit to happen

I was going to vote for the Giants on the sole basis that they are my team. In reality, if Zito pitches like he did when he first came into the league (I don't think this will happen though), they are looking really good. Cain was good last year, he just had the WORST run support, Lincecum has some nasty stuff and hopefully has better command, and Lowry is an effective lefty. The 5th starter is also a question, but most rotations have that same problem.
