Title: The DUBCNN SHOW!
Post by: Ese Torsido on May 22, 2008, 11:44:51 AM
A great rift emerges from the Crooked I diss thread. Glasses Malone offered a concept about having DubCNN go live on national television (or online stream). First, shoutouts to GM for the idea. Nima approves. smega approves. I approve.

So what? You want a DubCNN Show? We can bring the Yo! back in MTV Raps and take Rap back to the Basement like BET did in the 90's.

I want everyone's thoughts on this. And if this goes on the air, Glasses Malone will be the first guest.

Hell, I might even bring in some of my Deviants :D

Wait, when did you start having any say in what dubcnn does? lol.

The idea is dope, though.

Let's just say I made this thread to prevent haters from hating even further on the previous thread.

Not a bad idea actually. Let artists and their fans/haters interact and air out their grievances with each other in a real-time format. Artists should really try to give fans a "birds-eye view" of what really goes on behind-the-scenes of the business so that they can see all the label politics operating as it happens. Maybe fans would better appreciate what artists have to suffer through on the business side of things since most people on here seem to be self appointed internet A&R's.

I'd support something like this. It'd also be good PR for Dubcnn as well as for the West Coast in general.

The thing with a lot of these artists though is that they can't take constructive criticism very well.  You voice your opinion and if the artist doesn't like what he hears, he labels you a hater and what not.  There are some people that will hate just to hate but there are others who actually provide an honest criticism.  The show will have its first and last episode all in one day because the artist will trip for no reason.

Then this means, I'll have to hear from the rappers themselves about this. Glasses, if you read this, step on up and tell me your thoughts on what H2K4 said.

(Man, I was gonna write Y2J. Where did Chris Jericho come out of this?)

HAHA!  Y2J's the man.  And my comment isn't necessarily directed at G. Malone.  It's to artists in general.  Maybe they're used to listening to yes men who will tell them whatever they want to hear, I don't know.

You know what's funny, i've been talking with Takeoff Productions about doing something similar to this for a few months now. Don't be surprised if you see something like this actually happen.

Rud, I don't get the idea of people repeating a quote from another post and not actually replying. What does it mean?

Sounds like a nice job for you,you have good Mic presence.  ;)
So I believe you would do a nice job.
..and it might solve the "phone problem" (I can hardly what Young Dee is saying).  :P ;)
Can I ask you why Young Dee don't come by your house to record it instead of doing it over the phone?
because we live 2 hours away from each other :D

but thanks for the recommendation, we're trying to solve that problem one way or another ASAP
