Title: Crooked I - Young boss vol.2
Post by: Jaydc555 on May 06, 2009, 09:33:40 AM
I was just listening the untagged version with cali boyz and boom boom clap on it and I have to question why this album wasn't just pressed up and sold as his debut. This album Is easily a 9/10.I hadn't listened to it in a while and was shocked at how good this album is.Great beats and solid lyrics.A lot of tracks had mainstream appeal and if this album was pushed it would have sold on word of mouth alone.

I completely agree with you.  This mixtape was quality stuff.  It had original production and most of it just didn't sound like mixtape tracks.  A great mixtape, but it probably could have been marketed as something more.

is this the one with NWA on it because that song is a heater, and crook aint gonna really come much closer to a track with single appeal than boom boom clap

It really could have been a debut album, too bad they didn't just title it "BOSS".  8)

Is Crooked I workin with the new owners of Death Row? Classic songs like "G'd Up And Banged Out" and "Bang On Em" should really be released officially.

I heard that they spoke to them, but I'm not sure of what they agreed on.

They need to just go ahead and release Untouchable through WIDEAwake.

Yeah I think that this is one of the main reasons I've been able to cope without a full length debut project, even though this is what 4 years old now?

Speaking of which, any word on what Crooked has been up to?  The last couple weeks have been relatively quiet, as pertains to the Crooked I scene.  Any new updates on the "B.O.S.S." album?

Yeah, this is true, LOL... I get confused sometimes cause some of the music from YB2 actually started leaking in 2005.

Yeah, they put it out for free with the "Life After Death Row" DVD but they fucked up. It's tagged all to shit and there's two second gaps between each song which wouldn't be so bad if you couldn't hear the beats from the previous songs still playing as the next track comes in. If he had thrown it on there without tags or at the very least a limited use of them and got it some of the other shit cleaned up, he would have had something awesome for the Crook fans and probably could have earned some new ones.

I actually ran out and bought it when I found out the song, "Crazy Ho" was on the bonus CD but was let down when I discovered that it was tagged and slightly altered from the version I had previously heard.

I believe the copy I bought from the DJ Skee site when it first dropped didn't have the 2 second gaps which is nice. You can download the actual CD off www.thebossboard.com/projects.php

Anyway like I said earlier in this thread...

Untagged... Not all tracks are the BEST quality, but it's a good start!

Yeah DJ Skee added those to the project later on, it's not part of the ORIGINAL project, but more as "DJ Skee Exclusives". They weren't on the copy of the tape that went to magazines to be reviewed, but could be considered part of the real project since Skee dropped it officially for Crooked.
