According to Scott Storch's manager, Derek Jackson, Storch will be a part of the album.
During a recent interview with Gyant Unplugged (http://www.ustream.tv/recorded/9098098), Jackson spoke on this collaboration.
"The reason he's been a little quiet is because Scott's been in LA since January working on the Detox," Jackson revealed in a Gyant Unplugged Show phone interview via Beehive FM with radio personality Gyant. "So he and Dre came back together and a lot of people don't know why he's been so quiet...Dre need Scott and Scott needed Dre. So we went out to LA and we've been there since January and Scott just moved back about two weeks ago. So now we're about to get back ready to claim the seat. And let me tell you this, the first single 'Under Pressure,' that's not how it sounds. You all got a real misconstrued version of it and that's not how it really sounds. That's how it was in the early stages. [Scott produced it,] but it doesn't sound like that...Somebody leaked the version of what they just did. We cut the record when we first got there. Dre met Jay in Miami. They cut the vocals, kind of a beat up track, nothing really finished and that's what the track you guys got."

According to Storch's manager, the producer has been working on "Detox" since January.
Dr. Dre's Detox could very well be one of the most anticipated albums of all time. By now, it has become known for its several push backs over the years. While the album will have The Good Doctor headlining, it will also feature input from a variety of producers. According to Scott Storch's manager, Derek Jackson, Storch will be a part of the album as well.
During a recent interview with Gyant Unplugged, Jackson spoke on this collaboration.
"The reason he's been a little quiet is because Scott's been in LA since January working on the Detox. On top of that, Jackson added that the leaked "Under Pressure" cut from Dr. Dre and Jay-Z was unfinished.
"Let me tell you this, the first single, 'Under Pressure,' that's not how it sounds. You all got a real misconstrued version of it and that's not how it really sounds. I dont really think the keyboard players he's worked with over the last few years have done that well..
So I think they need each other.

i say ban these detox threads & no1 in future should be making a thread about detox

Good to hear Storch linking up with Dre again

i guess we disagree then.
i don't really have a preference for a certain keyboard player, plus Dre is the frontman.

im fuckin confused cause Dre said he spent about six month on Detox with interview with Vibe but Storch was workin' on it since January. What the fuck does Dre do? just mix?

Scott Storch > Mike Elizondo > Mark Batson > Dawaun Parker.
Dawaun is extremely talented, but Dre doesn't give him any chance of showing his own skills, which are more jazzy. He basically works on command for Dre and Dre regularily buys beats from him.
The most allround talented guy is without a doubt Elizondo, but when it comes to the keyboard you have to respect the pianoman.

to be honest, I'm getting the impression that that is the case. Dre mixes other ppls beats, throws produced by Dr. Dre on it, and then calls it a day. I guess he was actually making beats in the 90s, but now.... idk.
-
I highly doubt under pressure is going to sound that much different from what we have already heard. If the beat was so unfinished then why did dre use it for his headphone commercial? My guess is it will probably be scrapped since its already leaked but who cares at this point i could care less when detox comes out gimme the book of david and street gospel 2!!!
-
If it ever comes out this might be one of the most generic sounding albums of the decade.

Sad, but if you take what we have heard into concideration: true.
At this point (if Detox even excists) Dre should just scrap it all together and leave this twaddle out of his legacy.

Definately agree with you there, Elizondo is very talented.

I think its pretty obvious scott is the best piano cat dre has had in the last decade and probably the most gifted cat in his studio when he is in there. Elizondo was great too but he is better as backup than being lead musician like scott was when he was in there.
Dre also went through a nice stage during the era when obie dropped his debut album, not for obie but for his instrumentals. He has a strong overall team then but he they all felt dre was fuckin them so they dipped.
Recently its like has dre gone even more quiet than usual so we don't know who dres 'piano' man is but considering scotts been back with dre on detox behind the scenes for a while, its fair to say they both neeeded each other for a push and they make great music together.

Good to see somebody else with the same view on that whole piano deal..

I wish Dre would stop pussyfooting around and just get back in the studio with The Glove and Colin Wolfe. Real talk.

he can't just throw his name on there, that's not how it works.
he'd get sued.

The guys that he works with are trying to get big by associating their names with him. They aren't going to sue him or say a single bad thing about him for that matter. They are gonna take whatever money he buys the beat for, let him list the beat as produced by Dr. Dre, and then hope other people start buying beats from them due to thie fame Dre helps generate for them.
I mean I don't know that this is happening, but I feel like there is a possibility that it happens with some beats.
-
I don't know it all reads kind of iffy to me with people talking about credit. A lot of it is people talking about beats but producing isn't just the guy who makes the instrumental.

well i'm sure Dre has bought beats from others, especially for Detox.
for 'We made you' he bought a beat from someone & changed it (according to the seller)

someone should make a wiki for producing

i forgot the name of the seller, not sure if he's mentioned in the credits
-
he is doc ish, and he's in the credits.
Asked about changes from the initial track, Ish reveals, "[Dr. Dre] changed it up, 'cause what I had done is I had made it a vinyl, sounding like something old. [Charmane is] very soulful. I made it sound like a sample."
