Has anyone ever had this? If so, did you have to undergo surgery to fix it? If so, am I being a pussy about it or are my fears justified?
-
yeah my brothers had it twice, in each big toe.. nasty stuff, he had surgery and had both toe nails removed. you definatley aint being a pussy, ive seen him break his arm before and he wasnt in as much pain as his toes :-X
-
PUSSY ;D
-
U just have to cut it out yourself if u have the balls to do it, u have to find some nice sharp thin scissors, slide it under the nail and try to cut it parallel with your toe as deep as you can and pull it out yourself (the part that grown in). Doctor will do the same thing (they call that surgery haha)..

grown in toe nail or INGROWN toe nails?

Dude... I have to take 2-3 days of rest after this. There's no way I'm gonna do this myself :P

you never know, you might be okay and not have to go down that route.. (i dont know anyone else who's suffered from it, so thats all i can base it on) but i think the reason my brothers was so drastic was cos he caught an infection in one of them, so surgery was the only choice.. good luck with it tho man!

if you're gonna perform the surgery yourself, put your foot in warm/hot water first it will soften your toenail and will probably mean less pain for you.

And clean yo damn feet.
Surgery? whoa... that's taking it a bit far, or the infection has to be serious.
-
luv 2 c u suffer.
no really, i woulda thought the best thing would be to cut it frequently and try pranging/digging it out it daily (which can hurt a lot) to try and force it to naturally adjust the angle.
-
IF YOU WERE AFRICAN, A NEW NAIL WOULD GROW UNDER THE DEFORMED NAIL :o SCHWAG.
-
Soften it in hot water (or don't, I didn't but it's certainly a smart thing to do) cut it parallel to the spot where it grew in and pull it out. Disinfect the wound properly for the next days, then you should be fine.
-
You gotta be more careful cutting your nails next time, nigga.
If you're gonna do it, have a professional do it. I had a friend remove his own ingrown toenail only to have a severe infection and almost die. Not worth it.

It's supposed to happen the day after tomorrow, but ever since I had a doctor look at it the toe seems to be healing. I'm confused though... should I let a surgeon remove it anyway or should I leave it?
-
I've had the same thing, after doc saw it it started to heal.. you should try to put something underneath the part where your nail is growing in so your nail won't grow back

Yep yep, infections on your feet ain't no joke.

Just let the surgeon remove all of your toes, no problems with grown-in nails anymore in the future. ;D

So this morning parts of my toenail were removed. This was worse than I imagined it to be. For some reason local anesthesia doesn't always work properly for me. This always happens to me with cavities and it also happened to me with one wisdom tooth. I felt the incisions. Even though they felt far away, kind of, they were still painful as hell.
I cannot go back to work till next week though :D

I HAD THE SAME PROBLEM WITH WISDOM TEETH/CAVITIES.
NEXT TIME ASK YOUR DOCTOR/DENTIST TO PRESCRIBE YOU ANTIBIOTICS 1 WEEK BEFORE ANY PROCEDURE.
MY NEW DENTIST TOLD ME IF THE AREA IS INFECTED ANY, THE ANESTHESIA IS LESS EFFECTIVE

I was in so much pain and I was so nervous that I didn't wanna look at the surgery. I didn't ask a nurse to take pictures either, so this is from right after the surgery:

On Saturdays the chance of stimulating the economy is bigger than on Sundays, as most stores are closed on Sunday.
