I'm not convinced Daz did most of Dogg Food, especially Let's Play House and Respect sound like Dre production.

I'm not convinced Daz did most of Dogg Food, especially Let's Play House and Respect sound like Dre production.

yeah exactly these two songs sound very Dre-esque, and Dre does ad-libs on them. Snoop said in an interview that Dre produced a lot for Dogg Food. I think Dre has something to do with I Don't Like To Dream About gettin' Paid. I think Dre didn't really mind letting Daz get his shine on his own album so he didnt claim any of the production even though he must have been involved in a good part of it. In the end Dre knew this album wasnt going to be remembered like The Chronic or doggystyle by the masses so he probably wasn't interested in getting credits.

LOL @ Snoop trying to say that he could have paid battlecat for beats and pretended he produced them. Battlecat was too established a producer when Snoop really started fucking with him, and his sound is too peculiar. He had already produced for successful artists like Domino, WC & The Madd Circle, PPC, Spice 1, or Dana Dane before 95, not to mention his classic but underground work for artists like Bloods & Crips, Tweedy Bird Loc or Lighter Shade of Brown. No way snoop could have put his name on a BC beat.

I beleive Daz produced most of Dogg Food...Dre ain't shit of a producer by himself....he's better at mixing shit other people produce...Daz has gone on to produce countless bangers on his own since...

Daz got alot of bangers, is first 2 albums, Gang Related Soundtrack other shit. I believe he did most of Dogg Food and alot of Doggystyle cause they never gave the credits on the album booklet or back cover.

yeah Daz produced most of Dogg Food, but I believe Dre was also involved in the process despite what the credits say... but I think Daz came up with the concepts, samples and beats and Dre added his midas touch to some songs like Respect or Let's Play House. Pooh produced only 2 songs.

Daz doesn't really produce on his own... he always has a co-producer around. but he did produce bangers afterwards, his first three solo albums, his productions on Gang Related, Gridlock'd, All Eyez On Me, G-Funk Classics Vol. 1&2, Dillinger & Young Gotti, tha streetz of a mutha, just to name a few

Daz produced all Dogg Food with Soopafly on keyboards apart from the 2 DJ Pooh records. The only thing Dre contributed production wise was to "Lets Play House", which according to Michel'le, was originally a Dre produced solo track for her. She said Daz basically took bits and pieces from Dre's original beat and remade it into the Dogg Pound Version

As far as Doggystyle goes Sam Sneed recently said that Dre "and a couple of other producers" did that album. And seeing as the beats for The next episode (OG) and Ratatat (OG) ended up on Warren G's album, I would say that he did do some ghost production on the The Chronic and Doggystyle

THE NEXT EPISODE OG BEAT WAS NOT ON WARREN G'S ALBUM, THE SAME SAMPLE WAS USED BUT THE BEAT WAS NOT CLOSE TO A MATCH

sorry to yell :)

not close to a match? The Drums are also exactly the same in both versions. The only difference between the two beats that Warren G's version has the Les McCann sample replayed by musicians

i always thought Dre and Warren used the same sample, but it seems like "next episode" was a Warren-production after all  ???
We_Fly_High confirmed it in some old thread a hundred years ago i think

Dr. Dre might've produced "Dogg Food" but Daz, DJ Pooh and others made the beats though. That's how it always goes down, even Snoop Dogg said it. I think he also said that Dr. Dre produced "What Would You Do" too.

Daz may have brought some ideas to the table but Dre did Doggystyle believe me, blame Suge for the credits not being on the album. Daz has had a lot of dope production though, its silly to say that he doesn't.

Allow me to clarify. If we're gonna call Death Row what it is or what it looks like, we can't X out Dre's solo production credits over there and keep Daz's. If Suge wasn't giving publishing credit to Dre's production team, the safe bet is the people who helped Daz got left in the cold too. Now the complaint is Dre started Aftermath and since he was now doing right by production credits, everyone had their little co-credit on there. Okay. Now, when you look at DPG Recordz/Gangsta Advisory and you move past those first albums that were produced at Death Row, how many "bangers" does Daz have just by himself? No Mike Dean. No Ivan Johnson. No Soopafly. If you think any of these mega-producers who are multi-million-dollar commodities for these major labels are sitting around making entire beats by themselves from conception to final mix, you're delusional. The producers and artists actually know the score. When you read something like that Complex article on the making of Game's album or you hear Dre's peers like DJ Quik or Timbaland speak on him, it's this understanding that Dre knows his shit.
