Is there any word of any unreleased tracks floating around that Tray Dee recorded for a solo album when he was on Def Jam?
The only two tracks I know of that he recorded for the label both came out on soundtracks and they were both bangers... he had "Droppin Bombz" with Sentrel on the classic The Show project and also had "Way 2 Crazy" with Daz off the Rush Hour soundtrack.
That album would of been a banger for sure, maybe a classic

dont think the album was recorded.
but yeah, theres another song that leaked - forgot the title.

I don't think he was ever signed to Def Jam. It's a shame that Tray Deee never put out a real solo album.

The dude is like 50 now anyway. Fuck grandpa rappers. He shouldve dropped a solo (or solos) between 98-03 when the iron was hot for the west. A lot of these dudes held off for so long they pretty much killed off their own careers. Had crook dropped shttbg he easily could've reached atleast gold

i honestly think Shitbag never dropped because of Suge more so than Crooked...why else would Crooked have so many songs recorded?
funny thing is for that 3 year contract Crooked still got paid salary despite never releasing his own LP there (he did have an EP tho)

he said in an interview that his earliest possible release date is 2013
if he serves his full 12 year sentence he'll be in jail till 2017, lol
-
he should go to tour in Europe and he'll be rich in no time lmao

was it something official?!

even at 55 ,tray dee would be harder than the majority of the new rappers.
-
A Trey Deee album in the 90's would of been a classic.

@effex
You got me, r.i.p. to my point

Tray Deee wasn't signed to Def Jam to my knowledge but to Sony Music.
Tray Deee wasn't built to drop LP's IMO. don't get me wrong i love his style but his voice and flow are too monotonous to carry an entire album by themselves. he's more suited for killer verses here and there (i.e. REALITY), or occasional solo songs (i.e. tha gee in dee or there comes a time) and as a supporting act. and I think he knew this. that's why he dropped General's List (solid compilation) and had started developing a camp (IV Life Records) where he was the overseer and was involved in the music but not the center element. dude knows how to play his position obviously.
Overall I think he's had a good career, I mean the first eastsidaz album is a classic in my book. the second one has aged well too. It's a shame the Eastsiders album that they started doing for death row never came out.

2 group album, and a compilation under his name is a good career?!?!

i agree...tray deee is better suited as a featured artist, or part of a group. always comes in and drops a classic verse. don't get me wrong, a whole album would be the shit, but it would be hard 2 imagine tray carrying a full solo, unless there was a gang of features or some shit...
-
Tray Deee was supposed to drop a solo album on SPOP Entertainment after "The General's List" came out but then he got locked up and shit never came out.

The OG tracklisting to Generals List had more Tray Deee material on it, making it more of an album than a compilation.
'Take Cover' was supposed to be on it, as well as 'Can't Help It' (Tha Eastsidaz/PCR track).
Maybe they held some stuff back for the 2nd 'real' album.. :eh:

tray dee is cool but no one really wants a solo from dude, it would just be a DPG album anyway with with 2-3 features on every track
