we better have a masterplan in place if this bullshit goes through.
-
Lakers front office isn't stupid ....
-
horrible deal if you don't get howard.. IF you get dwight, it was absolutely the right move.
great for dallas
-
Ok if we get Dwight then what? We need a fucc'n pg. Cause right now the clippers are way more exciting then our boring team. And we have the worst point guards ever, so far Stern greased us up and fucced us. That equal mark Cuban hated on us and we helped em. We better have a master plan lol.cause fish as our starting guard again is a joke. I rather get Chauncey if all else fails yell
-
fuck all this dumbass shit......................stern fucked the lakers in the ass with this shit. this season wont be the same.
-
Apparently LO requested the trade. This definitely isn't the end of the Lakers moves though.

...Odom wanted to leave because the team tried to trade him...not many people like being places they aren't wanted. Odom has been great for your team.

Agreed. Sure the whole reality show thing was gay as fuck but he was still 6th man of the year and has really been the only constant in LA (besides Kobe of course) since Shaq left. Kobe's pissed at the front office.

first off, he sucked ass in the playoffs.... second off, this is a business. being traded is part of the business. it was made clear by mitch that EVERYONE on the team (aside from Kobe) was tradeable........dude should act professional and quit bein such an emotional bitch. in more ways than one.

Yes a man loves the city and team he plays for. What a bitch.
Lebrons a bitch for wanting to leave Cleveland/Odoms a bitch for wanting to stay in LA.
12.1/6.5/2.1
.459 FG%
only thing he real did bad at was 3 point shooting.
Odom on the other hand shot .420% a fucking big man.
Odom has been a big part of the Lakers 2 championships, yes Kobe was the key but the surronding cast was very important. Last year he did average in the play offs and not what they needed by does that erase 2 rings? Sixth Man of the year? One of the best @ defensive rebounding in the NBA. and a great defender. Also a scoring threat and great 2nd option when the start double teaming Kobe.

yes, u can love the team u play for, but if u get traded, u do not hold bad feelings towards em....james worthy was in trade talks for mark aguirre in the 80's and u know what happened when those talks fell through? worthy came back stronger than ever and got FINALS MVP that year.
what did LO do?...request to get traded. lmao. the guy is bein a bitch.

"You're talking about the Sixth Man of the Year last year," "He played lights out. I don't understand the criticism of reality shows and this, that and the other. I don't get it. I don't understand that. He had his best season last season, clearly wasn't a distraction and he played his ass off. I don't get where that comes from."
- Kobe
"I've known Lamar for a long time and for the team itself, he's meant a lot in terms of his versatility and his personality," "He's a big presence for us in the locker room, just from a team chemistry standpoint. He's great at bringing guys together and things of that nature."
- Kobe
"What more could he do?" said Fisher. "He's been asked to play a different role, maybe a lesser role than he'd play on a lesser team, and he did that. He did what he was asked to do, the team wins two championships, goes to another Finals. As a basketball player it confuses you as to what your focus should be. If your focus is ... about making sacrifices, making less money, playing a lesser role to be a part of a championship team, it doesn't seem like the reward fits anymore.
"The reward is, when something else better comes along, you're going to be traded and pushed out. That's just not a message that you'd want a friend or a teammate to have to experience, but at the same time we know that's a part of what this business is now."
- Derek Fisher

damn @ the lakers organization for putting LO out like that... after all he's invested into the Lakers. Just goes to show you die hard laker fans with tattoos... its just a business and your a sucker for buying into it as a way of life.
LO on dallas = Unfair for western conference
-
LO was requesting a trade....cuz he was butthurt that he got dealt for the best point guard in the league. dude shoulda just bucked up and he woulda still be on the lakers. bottom line.
-
Like I said in the other thread, Odom is a spoiled pussy for doing this. Still GREAT to get him for virtually nothing. The Lakers also traded a 2nd round pick to Dallas. The late 1st round pick Dallas sent to them is almost as useless as the 2nd rounder the Mavs get in return. 28th pick and 50th pick ... in both cases you need to luck out to get a player that can get minutes on a contender.
Also, the Lakers cannot use the trade exception to absorb Hedo in any Dwight-deal, because the Turk makes more money than that.
-
Dallas haven't decided what year the 1st round pick will be from, but apparently it can be between 2012 and .. 2017!
with the trade exception from what i've been reading LA can use it to absorb part of a salary (doesn't need to be the full salary), but to do that they would need to do something stupid, like say Hedo+Dwight for Bynum+Gasol+Odom trade exception, and a lesser player like say Artest or Walton .. not a deal I would pull the trigger on if i was the lakers GM
-
I think both LO and the Lakers could have handled the situation better :
LO :
- LO is very emotional and cried like a little bitch while Gasol ( who has been labeled as soft) and Bynum are handling it like men and understand it's a business
+ Still he did take less money and was willing to come from bench to be part of and be a key of 2 championship teams
Lakers FO :
+ they had a plan for being locked with great players now and in the future until Stern happened ... then they get rid of an unsastified player very fast before his trade value goes down
- Still I think they could have noticed LO agent he could be traded knowing how LO is and what he did for the franchise
- What's the plan with the TPE , how LO versatility who is a night in and night out mismatch gonna be replaced ??
I will reserve my judgement until the final roster is set ... right now the situation is shocking and weird to me ... I'm divided between trustin Mitch abilities as a GM and the questions/fears entering the Jim Buss era

LOS ANGELES -- The Los Angeles Lakers have agreed to terms with free agent forward Josh McRoberts, according to a league source.
McRoberts will sign a two-year deal worth approximately $6 million, according to the source.
More on the Lakers
For more news, notes and analysis of the Lakers, check out the Land O' Lakers blog from the Kamenetzky Brothers. Blog
McRoberts, 24, averaged 7.4 points and 5.3 rebounds in 22.2 minutes per game while shooting 54.7 percent from the floor for Indiana last season. He has career averages of 5.2 points, 3.8 rebounds and 15.7 minutes per game while shooting 52.5 percent in four seasons with Indiana and Portland.
The signing is a far cry from the "big deal" that Lakers general manager Mitch Kupchak said the team is pursuing, but it does address the need for frontcourt depth that became apparent when L.A. traded Lamar Odom to Dallas and opted against re-signing free agent big men Theo Ratliff and Joe Smith.
The Lakers' frontcourt void became even wider when second-year big man Derrick Caracter suffered a torn lateral meniscus in his left knee at Monday's practice. At 6-foot-10, 240 pounds, McRoberts can play both the power forward and the center position.
The Lakers made use of their mini mid-level exception to sign McRoberts, a former Duke standout. A new provision in the recently ratified collective bargaining agreement, the mini mid-level is worth approximately $3.1 million a season (or $9.4 million over three years). It is the only contract available for NBA teams that have crossed the luxury tax threshold to offer to free agents, other than signing them to a veteran's minimum salary.

^They should have focused on getting someone like Baron Davis once amnestied... if they actually play with a backcourt of Bryant, Fisher and Blake only, they are fucked.
Then again, they apparently are back into that Chris Paul trade shit, which could be reason they signed this semi-useless PF. To "replace" Gasol. However I don't see the Hornets getting anything close to better than what the Clippers offered..
