01. Al B. Sure! – I’m Still In Love With You
02. H-Town – Part Time Lover
03. 2Pac – Pain
04. 2Pac & Treach & Riddler – Loyal To The Game

Ahhhh 1994, the days where you had to go into music stores and settle for the cassette tape if the CD was out of stock, and where you bought magazines

It used to drive me crazy that I couldn't get those Pac songs on CD (this was before Napster, etc.). Especially "Pain."

I actually own the tape from way back I bought at Sound Warehouse.  I remember bumping those 2 2pac tracks over and over.  It was one of those gems that they used to put out.

I used to record that snippet of "Pain" that plays in the opening scene of "Above The Rim" from the VHS and loop it into the whole side of cassette, lol - 90's were just priceless times :D

I'm pretty sure it only appeared on the maxi CD. Not too many people had that one where I'm from.

I have the regulate one but it only has one version of the song as well as "loyal to the game" , "pain" and a song by lord g called "monie right" (i think it was spelt like that?) my dad actually randomly bought me that cd. I was like 13 at the time.

All the newbies don't appreciate just how hard it was to get some of these CD's and tapes. The internet was non existent, most people didn't even have computers. Back in 1992 for example, my mother had a typewriter. Store catalogs had around 10 of these and 1 big brick computer.

I can remember I had to go to my local music shop and get them to 'order' the Dogg Pound album. They had Snoops Doggystyle in, and you could even get the Gin and Juice single, but trying to get individual singles in the UK was a bit difficult. There was nowhere to order from, other than the big ugly catalog from behind the desk in the music shop. If it wasn't in there, the only hope was in larger stores in the city's and even then, a lot of Hip Hop wasn't stocked other than pop rap (Will Smith, Coolio etc.)

Yeah.. that didn't make any sense.  "Pain" was a great song, and I think it was the opening song to the movie.  Why would it not be on the soundtrack?  It's on the tape only.. was this to make it somehow more rare and exclusive?

Also... another thing I never liked was that they didn't put the version of "California Love" on All Eyez On Me that was Pac's biggest hit ever.  I mean that song blew up even bigger than "Dear Mama" did at the time.  It worked well for eventually selling the "How Do You Want It" maxi-single.. but when you think about 2pac's legacy, All Eyez On Me is probably the greatest album of All-Time so it was really important to Pac's legacy that they put the best version of "California Love" on the album

Cali Love was not on AEOM because they wanted to make the How Do U Want It single sell more so people could hear Hit Em Up at the end

As far as I remember, the Above The Rim CD was around the 80 minute mark without the bonus tracks. Also, tapes were the common thing at that time, The Chronic had Bitches Ain't Shit as a tape bonus only (I think), Murder Was The Case had tape only bonus tracks too.

still no excuse to not find room for those 2 songs.  woulda made the OST even better.

Yes it is good excuse because back then all the could put on a CD was 80 minutes of music unlike today.  Tapes had more room on them then CD's back then . So that is why they had bonus tracks on the tapes.

No,because that is main songs they wanted on the soundtrack . No, I won't get fuck out of here.  It not about what you want . It was about what they wanted you to hear.

I live near Berlin and Berlin City had a lotta good music from overseas. WOM - World of Music had US Import CD's already on Monday when the original US releas was Tuesday. Good old times  ;D

@topic. Would like to hear that Dogg Pound track "Mobbing With Tha Dogg Pound" in full, but as yet it never showed up. It was a kinda like pre-version of Just Doggin from the Sunset Park soundtrack.

Yes, they were, and I was very happy about that even though they are easy enough to find on bootleg. I wish I had known about the maxi CD singles! Then again, I would've never found them until the internet blew up.

I did have the tape version, but it wasn't the same thing. The "Gang Related" tape also had two bonus songs as well, one of which was Top Dog's "Going Back to Cali," which sadly did not make any of those compilations. Neither did the "Murder was the Case" bonus songs.

Great point on California Love. I was pissed when only the remix version was on it! Back then it was pretty common to have the lead single and a remix of the lead single on albums, and I expected the same on "All Eyez on Me." When was Hit Em Up recorded? Did they really save Cali Love so that people would listen to Hit Em Up?
