What’s the Swoop joint that plays at 6:30 in the movie that joint is smooth and I don’t think I ever heard. Been a long time since I saw this movie didn’t really know Charlie Murphy until the Chapelle show… good ol days

Prod. by Swoop G. It was recorded for the "Murder Was The Case" soundtrack, but didn't make it. It ended up on both of Swoop's first two albums.

a reason I think that "Murder Was The Case" is the GOAT soundtrack is when you have leftovers of this caliber

Hell yeah. Is there a list (on Bomb1st for example) of everything that was recorded for it?

The Question is why the Song didn't make da cut

good question...I was going to say "Hot Ones" by O.F.T.B. but that was on the cassette version...how about "Mysery"? theres a couple of versions of that track, one with Kurupt and Snoop and one with Kurupt and Slip

its definitely good enough to have made the cut but I imagine there was a limit of songs they wanted on the album...Im trying to think of what it could have replaced but there is no filler on there

Jewell "Harvest for the World" was weak... but Dre is a master at sequencing albums so maybe he just wanted to slow things down a bit, for a small Chronic break between all the hardcore gangsta shit.. mix it up with some R&B. But I definitely always skipped the Jewell joint. Same thing with the B-Rezell joint I always skipped it, but Dre was just mixing in R&B.
...but definitely they could've cut the Slip Capone "Eulogy" joint out for the Swoop joint, that would of worked sequentially as well. I always skipped the Slip Capone joint as well; though listening to it now it doesn't sound that bad so maybe I was just sleepin on it

"The Eulogy" is a classic.

"The Eulogy" is a classic.
Swoop's joint >> "The Eulogy". But knowing Dre, he probably preferred CPO because CPO had that unique voice and was linked wit Ruthless/NWA back in the day
-
No way I’m taking off the CPO and Slip Capone track from the soundtrack, that’s one of the highlights on an album full of highlights. I love the way the beat comes in with that intense echoing bass punch at the start, really sets the tone for the dark nature of the track.

When I got this soundtrack I was 12 years old so I didn’t know a lot about music—but I thought this songs was filler

talking about "The Eulogy" it just reminded me that both CPO and Slip have passed...its crazy how many rappers we have lost over the years :(

What are the Murder Was The Case leftovers despite Swoop G and OFTB (being released on tape).

Yeah I guess that’s the one then. I’ve always liked this version of Life’s so Hard with the guitar sample, there’s such a melancholy feel to it that makes it the complete opposite of the one on the Gang Related soundtrack.
However, I can see why it wasn’t included on the MWTC soundtrack as i think it would have sounded out of place.

It's not that version of the song. I don't know why dude keeps posting it.

Agreed.
Hopefully we'll see some leaks someday.

Blowed Away is a nice blend of RnB and G-Funk but remember that it was on the Above The Rim soundtrack and not MWTC. If it was on the latter, I would leave it on the tracklist, it’s preferable to the B-Rezell track that’s actually on there.

This was a leftover as well. In the liner notes of MWTC it says D.eath A.fter V.isualizing E.ternity or something like that. I'm going off memory.

I think it might have been recorded during the Doggystyle sessions, I somewhat remember the Vibe article with Snoop on the cover mentioning this track
EDIT - I found the article but no mention of it, must have read it somewhere else

yeah this song is dope as fucc and Snoop's raps were tight as ever in that era... but it's clear Dre had yet to put his full midas touch on the track

No, it's not. "Horny" is the B-Rezell song on "Murder Was The Case".

Swoop cold as fucc, though.
