Track leaked months ago, just noticed it.
Dope track as far as I am concerned.

Too much n word lol lil wayne is WACK
-
this is dope .. feelin the smooth vibe
-
This is nice. Wish Warren would go back to full fledged G Funk, but this is smooth. Would've been nice for Warren's sake if it would've made the album so he could get some shine again. I think he still has a lot to offer as a producer.
-
Its a gem definitely
-
I feel like Warren G was really looking forward to the publicity this record might get him. Unfortunate it just ended up leaking as a loosie online.

^^ Thank you!
he seems like a good dude, but I ain't ever bumped a single one of his songs in my life. At least when his first big single came out "Block Is Hot" I didn't change the channel. But that's the best I can say for him.

Yuck lol.

I'm with both of you on Wayne...him and Jayz are the 2 rappers that I could never get into...I honestly don't know why they are so respected

Before wayne got his mixtape game in 06 08 ... he was just another rapper from the south..
He still is.
Warren G better work Wayniac of Twinz not Weezy

Gay-Z and lil’ Gayne

His last good album was i want it all imo ofc
-
Don't like his music, but he's clearly a good guy. Love these interviews. Shannon Sharp is really disappointed that white people haven't oppressed Wayne.

The question is, what exactly is stopping Warren from producing, making mixtapes etc?

Exactly! If he loves making music, make that shit and drop it. Forget catering to modern sounds and bless us with some shit only he can do…that Warren G funk. His last true solo track (Life is Beautiful) didn’t even have a beat?!
-

Agreed.
Not only Warren G... there tons of artists like that.
Wtf is stoppin em?
If e40 can drop 3 albums same year why not others?
-
Gay-Z and lil’ Gayne
What are you, 12?

We've discussed it many times, but I thought Warren's albums steadily decreased... Return of the Regulator was his last banger of an album. I stopped being a fan of his after that but from G Funk Era through Return of the Regulator I banged his albums probably more than anyone even at this forum of diehards.
Now.. he seems way off to me. Like listen to his interviews... it's like "Damn man spit it out."
G Funk Era - 10 of 10
Take a Look Over Your Shoulder - 9 of 10
Want it All - 8 out of 10
Return of the Regulator 7 out of 10

I really liked "I Want It All"...I would maybe switch ratings with "Take A Look Over Your Soldier"

We had some big debates on this topic on previous threads, but I'm one of the biggest defenders of Take a Look Over Your Shoulder. It has a cohesive sound and feel to the album that plays throughout. You can play start to finish with no skips (unlike that aweful Drag On song on I Want it All).
Plus it's all in house G Funk artists and Warren's homies that worked the album. On I Want It All he started doing the same bullshit everybody else started doing in 98' and going outside their camps just to boost marketing and sales by saying, "oh I got this artist on the album".
Don't get me wrong, I loved I Want It All when it dropped, and it also has a cohesive sound and feel throughout. Which is one of the reasons we love Warren G albums. But even the best tracks can't touch...
"Reality"
"Annie Mae"
"Smokin Me Out"
"What We Go Through"
"Young Fun"
Those 5 joints are FIRE!! and next level over I Want It All.

Imagine 'What We Go Through' original featuring Bad Azz and Tha Dogg Pound was on the album..

Yeah, that would've elevated the album--but still--what came out worked. The song was still banging and didn't sound like anything was missing.

yeah this is kind of dope.. I never really gave Mid-Nite Hour enough of a chance. And to give it a real chance I would need to be back in America listening to it on my car stereo to really judge. Not sure it would play well on headphones

A little bit, it's his worst solo album, but still has some incredible tracks like 100 Miles & Running
