SureIts been a whileHis last good album was i want it all imo ofc
In The Mid-Nite Hour was dope bro
This is nice. Wish Warren would go back to full fledged G Funk, but this is smooth. Would've been nice for Warren's sake if it would've made the album so he could get some shine again. I think he still has a lot to offer as a producer.
The question is, what exactly is stopping Warren from producing, making mixtapes etc?
Gay-Z and lil’ Gayne
does he still have a ghostwriter?
We've discussed it many times, but I thought Warren's albums steadily decreased... Return of the Regulator was his last banger of an album. I stopped being a fan of his after that but from G Funk Era through Return of the Regulator I banged his albums probably more than anyone even at this forum of diehards. Now.. he seems way off to me. Like listen to his interviews... it's like "Damn man spit it out." G Funk Era - 10 of 10Take a Look Over Your Shoulder - 9 of 10Want it All - 8 out of 10Return of the Regulator 7 out of 10
Who was his Ghostwriter?J-Flexx wrote "I want it all "
Snoop and Kurupt wrote "this DJ" and "Do You See"but I dont know who his most recent writers areI really liked "I Want It All"...I would maybe switch ratings with "Take A Look Over Your Soldier"
We had some big debates on this topic on previous threads, but I'm one of the biggest defenders of Take a Look Over Your Shoulder. It has a cohesive sound and feel to the album that plays throughout. You can play start to finish with no skips (unlike that aweful Drag On song on I Want it All).Plus it's all in house G Funk artists and Warren's homies that worked the album. On I Want It All he started doing the same bullshit everybody else started doing in 98' and going outside their camps just to boost marketing and sales by saying, "oh I got this artist on the album".Don't get me wrong, I loved I Want It All when it dropped, and it also has a cohesive sound and feel throughout. Which is one of the reasons we love Warren G albums. But even the best tracks can't touch..."Reality""Annie Mae""Smokin Me Out""What We Go Through""Young Fun" Those 5 joints are FIRE!! and next level over I Want It All.
Imagine 'What We Go Through' original featuring Bad Azz and Tha Dogg Pound was on the album..
