It seems as if its in fashion to hate on snoop lately. Daz got a lil motion going with his fuck snoop campaign and Pac fan pages say he got lined up by snoop. Whats the temperature at the dubb tho? How we feeling about snoop lately?
-
Oops meant to post this in the music section..
-
Phuck Yeah
-
i think it was around the time when snoop called out gayle king for shitting on kobe in death, only to go on that round table talk with her & jada pinkett to cop pleas and apologize when he did nothing wrong that i started to truly feel some typa way about snoop
i mean, we always knew he was a fence rider, but that was the last straw for me
then after getting closer with the DPG fam and seeing things from within after my DPG initiation, I got a confirmation of what I already felt .... Snoop cares about Snoop. he will say or do anything to uphold that "Americas rapper" image, and has zero regard for those who helped get him to where he is..
I have nothing against Snoop personally and wish him all the best because he's a legend who is largely responsible for the current landscape of west coast hip hop
but that's the jist of it

Snoops classics will be timeless and I can't help but enjoy those but as far as new music and new albums I've given up hope completely and don't really care anymore

this is pretty much how I feel...I bumped "Tha Doggfather" the other day and it sounds light years ahead of his recent stuff
but I feel the same way about alot of 90s artists who are still releasing music
-
I'll always check for new music because there will be a few gems.
-
There are 2 snoop dogg for me.
One is a legend who shaped west coast hip hop heavily and when he has a motivation to tell something and do something meaningful, he is still able to do it. (Last dpg record/upcoming kurupt solo album with battlecat/i wanna thank me and missionary albums)
Other one is a businessman, entertainer, cruel when it comes to money, drops a lot of wack shit (quantity over quality), etc...
So, i dont like him personally much but im not giving up on him yet musically.

Yeah Daz is light years ahead of him now. Daz releasing straight heat. It's been so long since Daz's last album, can't wait for Weed 4 Sale to drop. But Snoop can still pull out a gem every now and again. Like his latest song putting Tha Twinz on it, good move there. And I'll always respect his legacy.

I rock with Snoop big time.
He is not perfect though and I don't expect him to be.
Most impressive bit about Snoop for me is how he managed to keep his hustle going, like his skit at the start of Gz & Hustlaz "I wanna be a muthaf***** Hustla".
He is too accessible in my opinion though and that makes him an easy target , in this social media age.
He doesn't stay clear and maintain mystique like Dre, Jay Z, Em does

I also think there's a reason all three West Coast rappers come running when he calls. They use each other. The second he makes the call, DPG, Eastsidaz are ready to make full projects. RBX, Lady of Rage are ready to drop features.
Snoop obviously doesn't need to do that at all. Maybe he does it for his West Coast image, but he has nothing to really gain considering the size of his superstar. But the point is they definitely need him way more than Snoop needs them.
They all complain, but they're waiting by the phone...

they don't need him they do it because they got love for him
he gives them pennies for those little features and likes to maintain an image of "look i'm still dropping real shit on death row!!"

I highly doubt all of them do it strictly love. It's a little bit of money + the most exposure they can get at this point in their careers (maybe leading to renewed touring, feature interest).

100%.....might be hard to swallow but Snoop don't need most them....He can reach out and connect and collab with basically anybody in the game.
The Hardest from Dogg Pound album, put a light on Lady of Rage again like never before.
Putting Snoop aside....My issue is why most of his crew do not grind like him? From Warren G, Lady of Rage, Kurupt, Goldie Loc, why don't they put of projects on their own, mixtapes....videos on their own Youtube/IG etc..... they have names to build on but bare do anything to put themselves out there
-

yea he might give them like a fake chain and $500 for a feature and video appearance or some shit like that
i've gotten rbx more money from random independent features than he's made off his recent features for snoop
LOL

if any of those artists put out music they would be lucky to sell
a couple hundred copies in today's day n age without mass marketing behind them
"who the hardest" came out while hibernation shivers was poppin ... it didn't affect sales at all lol .. nobody cares
snoop couldn't even do the solid of reposting the album or shouting it out to help X on GP
you cats who think all these people who know him for decades have issues with him for no reason are hilarious
imagine if Snoop restarts Death Row and only puts out shit like the mariachi singer or october london .. the og fans guna be like "wtf?" .. so of course using the OG clique for image purposes benefits him .. although he doesn't do it with authentic intention which is why it never pops off like it should .... just some performative nonsense, like this latest twinz single
btw trip locc works at his store as a cashier .. when we wanted to get him on rbx album he said he needed a ride to a studio because he couldn't afford a car .. dude in the video wit half his teeth missing .. read between the lines
it's much deeper than u cats on the outside looking in can understand

In 2026, Snoop Dogg the musician/rapper is corny to me, its a gimmick and its played out. Still a legend though, but to me the mc in him died when he became Snoop Lion. He will need proper guidance musically, even Dre couldnt save him.

to be fair though Dre didn't do him any favors with his lackluster production on "Missionary"
Snoops rapping was the highlight of that album

Snoop was my favorite rapper, but the time I stopped liking him was when I think last year he criticized companies like groomer Disney putting out Lightyear with alphabet mafia stuff in it. And his grandson was asking "how are 2 women having a baby?" And Snoop said he didn't wanna have to deal with having to explain those types of things to his grandson from children's movies. Then after all the faggots and leftists complained he fucking apologized like a bitch and had gay crap in his cartoon to bow down even more. I had it with him after that, it was weak as fuck, and he flipped how he really felt after that pressure. That was gay as fuck and ruined his image to me.

You are bit too defensive... relax
The post is about my opinion, you give yours, I gave mine...simples.
All this talk about inside this, inside that not changing my opinion.
These guys are grown vets in the game, not a single one of them should still be waiting for Snoop to do anything at this age.
50 Cent stopped messing with Lloyds Bank and always talking bad about him, But Banks keeps doing his underground thing, releasing projects and doing shows (no matter how small) and doing well for himself without waiting for help.

u virtually got the same story as mine .. it's more of that fence riding, spineless shit
i thought that was weak af too but obviously already knew it was coming when he initially said that

defensive? you're way too sensitive fam
you can feel what u want, but everything i stated was facts
if that makes u feel some typa way then id suggest to look inward

There is a difference between Lloyd Banks and Tha Twinz or Eastsidaz tho.

Not denying what you're saying, but this is an example of why they always answer the phone with Snoop call. The most marketing / promo best chance they have of anything popping off is when it's attached to Snoop.
-

that's true

that's true
When Eastsidaz were on Big Boy radio promoting the EP & they asked about a full length album, Tray Deee basically said it's up to Snoop.

snoop doesn't care .. like i said, it's just performative nonsense
snoop is too comfortable in life to put his heart into music .. great art comes from hunger and snoop ain't got that
death row should be pumpin out hungry artists who are willing to put their everything into the music .. but snoop is too hands on to let that happen .. so everything released under the snoop umbrella is processed like fast food as opposed to a home cooked meal

Yeah, I noticed that too. Kinda weird considering the fact that he ain't got to rush all of this out like that - we all know Snoop's well off, lol. I mean he's still capable of dropping a banger here n there tho, not gonna deny that. Most his albums just lack quality control. Why not take time to create real long lasting music instead of this AI crap.
No real artist development either. The only artist that sorta made it on the "new" Row so far is October London and he's a R&B dude. Which is cool, but where's the new (and, for that matter, old) rappers?
-
Since tha eastsidaz 2nd LP
No more!
-

he's had a couple of really dope projects since then
The Blue Carpet Treatment in '06 and in more recent years 7 Days of Funk
-
I'm still down with Snoop but as far as his solo releases there's just too many of them, especially in the last few years. Like others have said it would benefit him musically to be more low-key and quiet like Dre and Eminem but he's a brand now and has been for quite some time so I understand why he does what he does.
-
Hope that " DPG Unit" project comes out 1 day!

Esp the pj with dam funk!
Was surprised to see Snoop & Stones Throw
Kind of when Nate did that Song with Rawkus
-
yea he's got some decent joints each album I think

You wrong for putting Trip Locc on blast; why you gotta do him like that.

where did i put him on blast? if anything, that would be putting snoop on blast (although i wouldn't call it that either).. everything i said bout trip locc is public info
and he's a good dude so i have nothing negative to say of him even if i wanted to

ummmm ... he is
.... is that supposed to be private? because he seems to be comfortable in his skin advertising it .... it's more a testament to why is snoop allowing that.
fuck u talkin bout bruh?

hell no . i skip all the snoop songs since the 213 album

I'll stand up for Snoop just this once. He is not responsible for former artist just like white executives aren't when it comes to their acts failing. These people may be part of Snoop's image but its just that an image. Unless you're a nerd, names like Trip Loc don't mean anything to anyone as far as house hold names even in terms of hip hop. Snoop only has the same image for so long before he rebrands. From what I understood after working ten years in the industry is how little the industry owes people. They get fucked over on their rights for the equvilent of a bank loan. Most labels do not pay monthlies for artist upkeep. The artist has the advance to support them. That's it. Not a monthly check. Snoop treats it like that unlike Suge who would advance money plus give you a monthly check. The reason Snoop does this is because it acceptable by music industry terms to do this to Trip Loc.

if he's guna put them in his video at least make sure they're presentable .. he has enough to where it won't even make a dent in his pockets .. simple as that
he's not obligated to take care of anyone .. but if you guna showcase them on your label then u have a responsibility

If Death Row was distributed by Roc Nation or Interscope instead of Gamma, things could have been different. Also, Snoop needs to realize that musically, he is no longer relevent, nobody cares for his stuff and a Snoop feature in 2026 wont guarantee a hit on the charts. His gangsta persona and gimmick is played out like there is more to life than blood and crips unity and LBC (which he left decades ago) , using DahDah is cheap and uncreative, using AI to create 2 minutes songs is wack. Im starting to think that he is on that powder.
Like he got all the great ressources, the 1500 or Nothin, the Nottz, the Quiks, the Battlecats, the Soopafly's, the Dre's, the Saadiq's , the Fredwrecks but still manage to put out garbage.

Which of his songs do you think was made by AI?
Side note you make a valid point, I am starting to think it is a budget thing, that prevents him from investing in his craft. Somebody said it earlier and it is worth reiterating, buying DR was a bad move for Snoop.

The FUCK SNOOP movement is getting louder.
