and i have this song called Frost - Still up in this and he talks bout having a 7th album in 2001, so who is this guy? any info appreciated
-
he's a mexican rapper, been around for quite awhile. Myself, I'm not into the latin/mexican rappers. frost is pretty cool tho, I got a few songs of his, but no albums. He is from the westcoast, I'm not sure what city, and he has collabed with quite a few big name west coast artists.

Check out Frost feat. Jayo Felony & Xzibit - Big business
If you liked Defari's "Spell my name", you're gonna love the original.. 8)

OMG!!!!!!!!
Frost used to be Kid Frost before he joined Ruthless Records. His called the Godfather of Latin Rap because he was the first Latin rapper to come out. His an old school vet, his debut album was Hispanics Causin' Panic back in 1990, his lead single was La Raza and the album went gold. Same with his 2nd album, and his 3rd album was on Ruthless when Jerry wanted to start a Mexican N.W.A. group with Frost as the lead, A.L.T. and young Mexican rapper Slow Pain. The group fell through, but Frost released two CDs on Ruthless, and started working with the underground artist, Jayo, King Teee, other Latino artist. Baby Bash of Suga Suga fame was once Baby Beesh, and he was part of Latin Valvet with Frost and some other fools. But Frost was never like the other Chicano rappers. He can actually rap. He was the leader of the L.A. Latino era that included Cypress Hill, ALT (great lyrist for even NY standards), Mellow Man Ace, from the I.E. Lighter Shade of Brown. It was later that Thump Records tried to profit off of the Latin rap movement, and added Slow Pain and JV, both were good rappers, but not exactly the best Latin Rap had to offer. After Frost dissappeared in 1995 after his Ruthless debut Smile Now Die Later, Latin Rap disappeared with him, until Big Pun in 1998, and then it died with him but it looks like Baby Bash brought it back to life. But from 1990 when Frost came out to 1995, Latin rap was just as popular, at least here in Cali, as other forms of westcoast gangsta rap.

He's pretty tite. I know a lot of you might laugh at me for this, but to me he sounds like a Mexican Shade Sheist.
-
M Dogg was pretty much on point. Dude has been around forever and has always been respected on the west coast. Anyone remember that track he did with Above the Law? They even had a video, I can't remember the name of the song. Also he had a track called Rap Declares War and if I recall, Lighter Shade of Brown, ALT, Proper Dos and Hi-C were also on the track. It came out in '92 I believe.

He's gonna hit middle age soon.

Yeah... Frost remade Lowrider
And Sikotic, the album you have is Eastside Story, I got the CD. Too bad after 1995, no one cared for him. He just went underground though and started working with young artist. And yeah, dude is almost 50... lol... veterano to the fullest.
