I would just like to drag some attention on an album that that dropped a couple of years ago by Kurupt and was abit overlooked!
"Space Boogie - Smoke Oddessey" is with "Tha Sreet Iz A Mutha" his best albums released!
"Space Boogie" got everything you want from a solid westcoast album. Dope producers, almost every beat is good, Kuruptīs flow is often on some extraordinary shit although his rhymes can be abit monotonous. Featurings on this album include a whole bunch of the D.P.G.Cīs like Snoop Dogg, Daz, Soopafly, Lil' HD and Nate Dogg. Other featurings are Dj Quik, Xzibit and MC Ren just to name a few. Even if you would get tired of Kurupt's voice there's plenty other rappers to make that up.. Fred Wreck drops some of his best work to date on this album too! "On Onsite", "The Hardest Muuuhfuckaz" and "Space Boogie" are heaters!! Its an album that you can listen from start to end without having to skip any track! Pop this CD in your stereo if you haven't listened to it for awhile or buy/download it if you haven't heard this banger!!

Too many filler tracks in my opinion. His rhymes were pretty much wack which prevents me from listening to some of the tracks no matter how dope the beat was.
-
Production was top notch, guests were dope, Kurupt had his moments, but his flow/rhymes lacked at times.
On, Onsite is by far my fav song... That song is like an anthem.. Everytime we go play bbal that song is on repeat.
-
man i got it back it 2001 and on onsite is my fav i still constantly listen to it cant find a flaw in that track. The Cd is good but i cant stand the tracks wit DJ lethal and Fred Durst He Cant Rap!!!!
-
Good record, but there are some skippable songs on there. Definitely more good tracks than bad. Kurupt was hit or miss, though. His verse on "Hate On Me" is by far one of his worst ever. Sounded like he just freestyled it or something.
The unreleased version of "Can't Go Wrong" is much better than the one on the album. I wonder why they changed it.

I couldnt agree more. Love this record.
-
good album, couple songs i wasnt feeling. its over, that one with fred durst, hate on me, couple others. but my fav track is BRING BACK THAT G SHIT FT Snoop dogg and goldie loc
-
bring back that g shit- fiyah!!!! i loved the album, still gets play to this day.
-
It's one of my favorite records I own. What I don't get though, is why the 2 of best tracks Kurupt recorded for Space Boogie didn't make it to the album: Odd Squad and This Life I Lead.
-
"It's Over", "Sunshine", "Lay It On Back", "Just Dohn't Give A...", and "Kuruption" should have all been left off. They don't fit the album. The album is too inconsistent. But there are some dope songs on it.
my .02

^^^ Sunshine is a good cruisin jam... my .005 cent
-
I DONT KNOW IF HOW MANY GONE AGREE WITH THIS BUT..
MY OPINION, THIS WAS A GOOD RECORD IF IT WASNT KURUPT..I DONT NO IF YOU KNO WHAT I MEAN BUT, THIS WAS NO KURUPT CD..FOR A KURUPT CD IT WAS WACK...THATS WHY IT WAS OVER LOOKED TO ME..SAME AS SNOOPS. DOG FATHER ALBUM...NOT THERE STYLE TOO, SLOW AND WANNA BE UPBEAT...BUT LACKS...
JUST MY OPINION.

"Sunshine" is dope. Kurupt was sub par on there, but it's still the jam. Jon B should produce for westcoast artists more often, he's one hell of a producer.
-
Sunshine is just too fruity to me. It sounds like it's a kids song.
-
Space Boogie was a great album.
-
Kuruption, Tha Streetz Iz A Mutha ---- Classiccs
Space Boogie ---- def. up there
and im actually lookin forward to ATG altho Kurupt has fell off somewot, but am anxiuos to c wot he brings to the plate this time, not let me down with an album so farr...
-
thank you i see someone finally giving this album the due it deserves. i didnt think it was as good as kuruption, dogg food,or streetz but this was a great album.
on onsite will always be one of the best rap songs ever
-
I love the album, I bump tracks from it all the time. "On Onsite," "Can't Go Wrong," "Space Boogie," and "Bring Back Dat Shit" are my favorites. I thought the track with Fred Durst was pretty tite besides Fred's verse. To the guy who said "Can't Go Wrong" OG is way better, I can't hear a difference in the production at all besides the fact that it isn't mastered. The only thing different is a couple of Quik's lines, and he probably just improved that shit to put in there for the time being until he was able to properly lay down his vocals.
-
this album was missing a deadly ass Fredwreck song......GAME IS GAME woulda fit in perfectly in the album
-
I like that song "gangstas"
-
hell yeah this album is fiyaah, only 2 skippers
-
ya this whole cd was tite.. the production was tite and apperances too.. but Kurupt was nuthin special on it
-
this tape is so old, it definitley was not classic like dogg food was... kurupt hasnt done anything hot for years, the "callin out names" was the hardest song hes had for a long time, need to focus on some new, hungry up and coming rappers for real heat, kurupt looked like a bum on the new yuknouth uga2 dvd, he could barely talk in every scene, just ranted with a runny nose all drugged out looking. he should have stayed close to snoop, snoop's "welcome 2 da chuuch" mixtapes were good (even if his albums arent) , hes the only one from the old death row thats kept their music current, whats stopping kurupt from putting out mixtapes independently like all the TX artists do?
-
yeah kurupt is my favorite rapper but i thought he was also kind of weird on yukmouths uga2 dvd. he was funny as hell but he didnt look so good he couldnt finish what he was saying and his nose was all gross and runny maybe he was just drunk but i dont know he looked drugged the fuck out
-
Kurupt is fine stop the bitch talking
-
Space Boogie was a great album. On, On Site is one of the best rap songs ever
"Let off a belly, the Desert Eagle start yellin'
Screamin, the path of a demon bellin'
With my all blue chucks all goin out right
Dippin through the back cuz it's on, on site"
-
my fav track is BRING BACK THAT G SHIT FT Snoop dogg and goldie loc
Yup....Good album, not even close to "Tha Streetz..." tho.
-
This album had so much potential. However, Kurupt he sometimes just needs to let the beat play and shut up. Some beauties on this album, but all in all, too many whack rhymes.
There are times I can listen to this album for a few weeks straight, but eventually, It gets old...
my favs
on onsite
cant go wrong
the hardest
and my fav of the whole album
Gangstas....
-
and my fav of the whole album
Gangstas....
Finally somebody who recognizes this track as a outstanding one. *sings along* you don't know me very well but you will know if you trip on me, you niggaz can not get with me
-
Space Boggie album was a banger, productions slapped and Gotti did not disapoint on the mic, " I give, I take it/ PUT THE GLITCH IN THE MATRIX "
