Well if you're talking about quality music, it's obvious Dre is the GOAT producer.
And when it comes to hits right now, the last HUGE (Top 10) hit Lil Jon had was "Goodies" by Ciara and that was last year. Dre produced The Game "How We Do" and Gwen Stefani "Rich Girl" which both reached Top 10 so Dre wins.

Dre's got "How We Do", "Rich Girl" & "Encore" as far as recent hits go, and he's got his fingerprints on "Candy Shop", "Disco Inferno", "Hate Ir Or Love It" AND "Just A Lil Bit", via mixing & additional shit...Lil Jon's got "Girlfight", "Okay", "Some Cut" and "Lovers & Friends" as his recent produced hits. Hate it or love it, Dr. Dre's on top...

Lil Jon is the more popular producer now I think. And I still think Dre is about a million times better. Maybe more than that.

And when it comes to hits right now, the last HUGE (Top 10) hit Lil Jon had was "Goodies" by Ciara and that was last year. Dre produced The Game "How We Do" and Gwen Stefani "Rich Girl" which both reached Top 10 so Dre wins.

In 10 years, Lil Jon will be seen as someone who brought a new sound, and sold millions of records. But in 2005, his hits don't even out number Dre's. Right now Dre has Game and 50 Cent out with singles he produced and they are on the radio more than anything Lil' Jon has out. No matter what era, what year, no one can fuck with Dre. If Dre wants to, he can put out a grip of new artist no one has ever heard of, and make them stars. He just takes his time looking for the right artist to fit his style. Lil' Jon has a gimmick, which is not bad, but in terms of long term impact, it wouldn't last. No one is calling Beats By The Pound legendary producers, but they had their 3-4 years as the top producers in the industry, and Mannie Fresh who I think is talented, is not going to be seen as great 5 years from now. Swizz Beatz, will also join that list. Lil' Jon will be there with him. The only producer right now that I think will join Eric B., Dr. Dre, DJ Quik, DJ Premier and Pete Rock is Kanye West. Honestly, it should not be who's on top, Dre or Lil' Jon, it should be who's number 2, Kanye or Lil' Jon and even then I pick Kanye.

I voted for Lil Jon. He's more popular right now, for an audience that reaches outside of the regular fanbase of hiphop/rap/noise. I can't say he's better than Dre because I'm definately not feeling Lil Jon's style at all, but he seems to be the bigger one to me right now.
