YESSS... An injured Batista >:( had to give his title to Long since he has to undo surgery... Then he decided to put the title on the line and Kurt Angle woN!!! Kurt is now the World Heavyweight champeeeyon! That means he's now on Smackdown :(
-
well batista had to drop the strap hes injured, but how did angle end up on smackdown. Is the the begining of the end of the brand extension?
-
i thought that edge won the bellt or something? he lost it already?? or is there 2 belts or something?!?
-
Edge is the WWE Champ and Kurt Angle now is the World Champ. Im glad Kurt got it but it sucks that Batista is injured he was a good champ.
The US title is vacant and one of the tag titles are now vacant so i wouldnt be surprised if we see another shocker and there was no more brand extension.
-
whats the diff between WWE champ and world champ?? is wwe champ intercontinental champ or something?? are they the same level or is one higher?
-
^ The only explanation for that is that you have to realize wrestling's all bullshit storylines, so sometimes shit doesn't make sense.
When they bought WCW, the WCW title was so prestigious that they couldn't just trash it, so they continued on having people win the title and being world heavyweight champ. The WWE Title was called the "WWE champ" or whatever, and they've flirted around doing things like unifying the belts, etc. but ultimately, it doesn't make any sense to have two champs. The funniest thing is, that for the last few years, they've acted as if the title that was defended on RAW was the 'big' title, and that was often the old WCW title. It's really pretty confusing and redundant... but with the brand split, it was easier for them to explain two belts since one was defended on Smackdown and one on Raw. They need to seriously bring back the WCW Televison title belt. The Television title belt was brought around to be defended, weekly, on the television show and not just the pay per views. They should bring that belt back, it's a great idea. For a while, they even had the cruiserweight belt 'retired' which was a travesty of justice.
The ABSOLUTE most confusing thing is that they have two tag team championships. I don't even know what the fucking difference is in what they call them, and I don't remember them holding the WCW tag belts over from the wcw purchase. It makes no sense at all, especially when you have mixed ppv's when they introduce 4 different people as being tag champ.
As for Kurt Angle, he's the greatest wrestler alive today and of course deserves the title belt whenever he wins it. He works his ass off in ever match and is a truly gifted wrestler. I'm a big Batista fan, though... even though Batista isn't the greatest wrestler, he has a ton of charisma, and has a very intelligent ring/promo psychology.

:sshh: , that's not an explanation, you're just whining because you can't understand but IT IS that simple... Since they have a lot of superstars and want to use them all, there are 2 brands: Raw, and Smackdown. Raw's world champ and Smackdown's WWE champ got traded, so now the WWE champ is Raw's champ and the World champ is Smackdown's champ, that also prevent Smackdown from looking like the B-Show...
Since Raw and Smackdown are separated, there are champions for each brands... The Raw teams only face each other for the World Tag Team championship belts, while Smackdown's teams only have WWE's tag team championship belt.
At Raw, there is the Wwe champion, the Intercontinental Champion, The tag team champions and the womens champion
At Smackdown, there is the World Champion, the U.S title, and Cruiserweight title
You talk about beign too many titles? At one time, there was the World title, the Intercontinental title, the Européan title, the hardcore title AND the Tag Team titles, for only one brand
It's one thing to be uninformed, but it's another thing for people like you who enjoyed wrestling when there was Kamala, Goldust, Hogan... come in EVERY wrestling thread to complain how much it sucks now because it's too different. Why don't you just stop watching it if you hate it that much? And if you don't watch it? How do you know it sucks that much?
Now back to the wrestling topic...
I think it's great to have Angle FINALLY winning the World title, it will make his feud with HBK more important, or maybe we can have a dream match with Chris Benoit and Kurt Angle @ Wrestlemania or have Rey Mysterio in the Spotlight FINALLY, he deserves it, did he ever had a boring match?
-
^ Suck a dick.
I'm not complaining about wrestling. Where did I? I just said it was stupid to have two world champions. ... and it is. You say it's easy to explain, then why were there two belts even before the brand split? ... ? It's stupidity. You also refused to acknowledge that they have two sets of tag team champions with the same title names. They're all 4 referred to as tag team champions. It's silly.
Have I ever said I enjoy Kamala? Or Golddust? No. You don't even know who the fuck I am and you're telling me who I like and don't like. Get a grip.
On top of that, I gave Kurt Angle, AND Batista props in this thread, but yet you say I don't like wrestling and complain about it.
Apologize for lying about me, bitch.
-
The only reason it's stupid to have 2 world champs is because they're not treated fairly. Smackdown is like a secondary brand and therefore their title seems secondary. That's why on PPV's the Raw championship is always the main event. Even during Survivor Series. Cena was defending his title, while Batista was in the Survivor Series match. Yeah, Batista was injured, but the Smackdown belt deserves to be defended too.
The reason 2 tag titles are ridiculous is because the tag team divisions for both brands are watered down. Combine all the teams and then you may have a good tag team division.
As for the title change, great move on WWE's part. They continue to surprise the fans which is what we've been wanting for years. I'm sad that Batista doesnt go to Wrestlemania since he was a great champ and fans like him. I guess Angle is on Smackdown, which disappoints me because I'm never home Friday nights. Maybe they'll combine the titles again like it was back on 2001-2002 when HHH and Undertaker used to be on both brands.

^ Suck a dick. :tosser:
I'm not complaining :nawty:
It's silly.
Get a grip. :argue: Why you sound so mad?
Apologize for lying about me, bitch. :nahnah:
Stooopp ittt or i'm gonna tell Overseer :boohoo:

to keep it short:
a while back they decided to split the WWE roster into RAW and Smackdown to allow the lower class wrestlers to shine a bit...at that time there was only one championship; i think it was the World Heavyweight Championship...anywayz the World Heavyweight Champion was suppose to compete on both brands...then came along the storyline where Stephanie McMahon who was the GM of Smackdown bought out Brock Lesnar (who at the time was the World HeavyWeight Champion) to only compete on Smackdown...so Raw came up with their own Champion.
so now both Raw and Smackdown have their own heavyweight champion
Edge is styll the WWE Champion cause he is on Raw
Kurt Angle is the World Heavyweight Champion for Smackdown now as Batista is injured
I dont think this is the beginning of the end of the roster split...itz just that Smackdown has suffered two huge blows:
1) Eddie Guerrero passing away (RIP); im sure they wouldve made him the champ instead of Angle
2) Batista getting hurt
with both those setbacks, there aren't really many shining stars on Smackdown who are free to be in other storylines; so Im guessin they asked Kurt to go to Smackdown again, atleast until Batista is back.
-
well this makes up for Edge being champ instead of Angle on Raw. and for Angle beating Cena several times but getting no Gold. Now with no HHH to interfere on Smackdown Angle can truly shine. oh its true. its true!!!!!!!!!!!

I might have to sit my ass home on Friday and check this out. Thank God they didn't pass it to Orton or Mark Henry.
-
What the hell are y'all bitching about? You must be pretty stupid if you don't understand the belt system. I think it's good to have different belts for both brands. Oh and by the way.....
THANKS FOR THE SPOILER.... >:(

WWE really stepped their game up in 2006 so far, If I made a Wrestling thread 2 weeks ago, this thread would already be dead... But i'm so much of a Wrestling fan that even if everybody stopped watching it, I would still be here, every monday, watching wrestling without missing any minute of it :D
-
THANKS FOR THE SPOILER.... >:(
no no, Kurt Angle is "rumored" to be the next champ  don't worry about it :coffee:
Well sorrry if I ruined it lol, but if you went to ANY wrestling site, you'd know, even WWE.com has it on their front page... Next time, Ill put a "Spoiler Alert"
-
Yeah, we should use spoiler alerts next time.. ;D
You know, it kind of ruins the whole match when you already know who's gonna win. Why don't they broadcast Smackdown! live? I can't go to any forum without reading no fucking spoilers.
Good thing Kurt Angle is the champ now. He's probably the best wrestler in the industry today and Smackdown! could use a superstar... Raw already got enough.
-
Ya good thing, now I just hope they keep pushing the good wrestlers ( REY MYS-TE-RIO, Shelton Benjamin) , or since I cant watch Smackdown :( , I hope they send Cena back there to continue his feud with Angle ( lol , id feel bad for smackdown) and give us Rey since we don't have many fan favorites main eventers at Raw
-
this is like the second time now raw has had both championships! i think angle will move to smackdown perminent now unless he loses it at the rumble
-
What the hell are y'all bitching about? You must be pretty stupid if you don't understand the belt system.
stupid??? or out grew wrestling years ago..
-
Damn, Batista was the best champ. This is kind of shitty, both shows have champions who I hate both lol
-
that way u will watch till they lose the belt,
thats wat vince thinks anyway
-
Damn, Batista was the best champ. This is kind of shitty, both shows have champions who I hate both lol
Angle is a great champion. His the best wrestler in the business today, and people actually cheer him even though his a heel. I think he will have a great run as champ.
-
do you think that angle does steroids?
-
He was in the Olympics in 96, which means he had the best trainers in the world and had to be the best amateur wrestler in the world without any enhancements. Yeah sure, he does a different kind of wrestling now, but I'm sure his standards and ethics haven't changed since he won gold at the Olympics. He's likely to be the last person that would be using steroids in the WWE since he already built up his size and had the strength.
Now a dude like Edge who was practically a stick figure back in 98-99 probably has juiced. Look at how HHH has changed too. It's been a gradual change, but he's suspect.
-
kurt angle champ!!!! yeyyyyyyyyy!!!!!!

Here's what I think. I think lots of the wrestlers juice. Like you said about Angle, I doubt he does. This guy is fucking intense. He probably has NO PROBLEM working out 3 hours a day, he probably loves it.
As for HHH, I imagine he did juice to get his size... I don't think he's juicing now, though. Right now, he's not really in that great of shape. I think he's struggling to get back in shape, because every week he looks about the same, he's about 20 pounds overweight right now and he's trying to get back into the shape he was a year ago. A year ago, he was probably juicing like a motherfucker to get all ripped like that.
What's everybody's thoughts on Hulk Hogan juiciing? We all know he did it when he was younger to get in shape, but I'm not sure if he still does or not. When he was a teenager, Hogan was fat, very, very fat. He started working out and probably started steroids around that time. He got to be 330 pounds at his height, which is insane since it was mostly muscle, but back then he had a slightly puffy look which showed his body holding lots of water weight, which I think is an indicator of steroid abuse. By the time he went to WCW and was shooting "Thunder in Paradise" Hulk had dropped to 250 pounds. I am not shitting you, he obviously wasn't doing steroids, but man he was rippled as fuck even though he was much, much smaller. Over the years, he gradually gained some weight back, but generally kept in good shape.
When he wrestled the Rock at Wrestlemania, Hogan stepped into the ring no shit at 310 pounds. Sold fucking muscle. If you watch that tape, watch when he shoves the Rock down at the beginning of the match, then flexes for the camera and screams at him. The guy was fucking *HUGE*. Now I know it was very important for Hogan to come back and do that match (he promised his dying father on his death bed that he would go back to wrestling and regain what he was before), so I imagine he worked out extensively, but man he was gigantic. It's kind of hard to believe he got that big on his own. I guess it's possible, but damn. I think his weight is hovering around 280-290 today, he's getting in shape right now to return at Wrestlemania. WRESTLEMANIA, BABY! You guys know you want the Hulkster at Wrestlemania. He's walking around on crutches, because him and the Big Show are filming a movie right now, and the Big Show stepped on Hulk's foot accidentally and broke it. At Wrestlemania, plans are for Hogan to wrestle the Show or Kurt Angle. Either would be fine for me.
-
Oh, you realize Hogan is a walking geriatric now, right? He actually had his HIP replaced. He has a bionic hip now. He's also had another knee surgery, I think that brings the total somewhere around 12 knee surgeries. It's amazing to me that he wrestles anymore, because I believe he's getting his knee worked on everytime he comes back. I think the new season of his reality show is starting in a couple months, and he wants very much to see his daughter get big in the music business, so he's coming back at Wrestlemania to help promote that. He's on one hand doing it for the fans and the fame and recognition, but on the other hand he's doing it for his daughter. This guy is very, very family orientated, most people don't see that about him.

Edge has admitted that he was on steroids at one point. But has said he's off of them cause they made him too slow.
