Did you guys see Rashad Evans knock out Sean Salmon lastnite? Wholy shit, that was a crazy KO, Salmon dropped like a sack of potatoes, and didnt get up for like 5 minutes. Rashad is looking really good. I could see him getting a shot at Chuck after another fight or 2 maybe.
Does anyone else think Jason McDonald has a shot at beating Rich Franklin? I think dude has a serious chance. Im not sure how Rich is going to recover from getting fucked up hard by Anderson. What u guys think

I saw it last night. Evans looked good, i thought Salmon fought him tough and Rashad Looked kind of tentative until that disgusting Cro Cop type Kick...Hes def a top contender for the LHW title, but Rampage coming to the UFC might hurt his shot a little.
And i think that McDonald has a great shot at beating Rich, hes shown what an "Athlete" that he is, and his 2 submissions were VERY impressive and fairly quick. He needs to get Rich on the ground, But you know Rich will be Hungry and hes in a must win situation, hes got a ton of pressure to perfrom after that lost to Silva, where as IMO nobody even expects McDonlad to be here or win, so hes got very little pressure coming into this fight.
Hermes Franca last night proved hes deserving of a title shot, i bet Dana White gives him one. Very impressive knockout of Fisher which doesnt happen ever, the only time i seen Fisher lose was to Sam Stout by decision...
Heath Heller was very dissapointing and LOL@ him saying people dont wanna see you lay on the ground..JACKASS ITS FUCKIN MMA!!! IF YOU DONT LIKE IT CRAZYHORSE BECOME A BOXER!!! What an idiot comment that was...And that Jacobs kid is gonna be good, he is very similar to Tito and comes out of Team Punishment...
And it was nice to see Ed Herman get his first win in the UFC he has a long road to the top of the MW Division but that was a good start...

Yeah Rashad was a good KO I'll give him that. I dont think JMac will be able to take out Rich though he's gonna come back hungry for a victory and getting back on his feet.
I never wanna see that Jake guy again though, he took Heath down every time, and got past guard, but still didnt do any submissions at all. Boring LNP performance by him.

As for Jmac I dunno, hes from Edmonton so I like to root for the canadian, but Ace is one of my top favs so its hard to go for one or the other. I'll be happy with whoever wins I guess. I think Rich will take it though,.

I love Forrest's character, but I don't think he has the ability to be a champion. He was unlucky against Tito for sure, but he really gotta win his next fight, after being defeated in 2 of the last 3.

never read it. Cant stand KS either.
I don't really like him either tbh, but the part I read was pretty interesting. I baught it more for his training regimes etc than his actual up-bringing.
I also baught a documentary on Ebay the other day of Tito training up at Big Bear in preperation for his fight @ 51, that was pretty cool.

Can't say I really care much for Ken nowadays, but I hate Tito. I think Forrest had the upperhand in that match as well, besides the 1st round.
Although I do like Forrest, IMO he'll never be champion. The only person I see at having a shot at Chuck is Rampage, and thats only if he comes into the fight the same state as he did their first fight.
And of course once Chuck retires, I hope Babalu gets it which he no doubt can, just not against Chuck.

Despite two tries at the scale, TUF 4 winner Travis Lutter will not be challenging for Anderson Silva's UFC Middleweight Championship Saturday night after coming in at a final weight of 186.5 pounds, a pound and a half over the 185-pound middleweight limit. Lutter's first attempt at making weight was 187 pounds, and after two hours he was only able to lose a half-pound. Tomorrow's UFC 67: All or Nothing main event will now be a three round non-title match, with Lutter being fined 10% of his purse by the Nevada State Athletic Commission (5% going to Silva, 5% to the NSAC).

I really think that if Lutter wasnt so physically drained he would have ended the fight when he had Silva mounted in the first rd, but his punches were so sluggish, and he just let silva out..I want too see them fight again..

thats bullshit that Lutter couldnt make weight. Very dissapointing, altho he suprised me since I really have him no chance versus Anderson. Rampage and Cro Cop both impressed me. All the fights were short tho, not the best PPV Ive seen. UFC 68 should be crazy tho! Cant wait to see the Franklin/J_Mac fight.

Man Mirko was terrifying last night he just walked Eddie down the whole round. Shit hahaha. And Rampage is slowly becoming one of my favourite fighters, he's just got so much charisma. Anderson vs. Lutter wasn't what I expected but I wasn't surprised Anderson won. If that flying knee would've connected that woulda been nuts. Everytime I watch Anderson he also always impresses me.
All in all I thought it was a good card, I was expectin Anderson to finish him off by TKO or KO instead of submit him but still hahaha that was pretty funny. Rampage and Cro Cop were both so crazy.. Mirko is the man he was just calm as hell in the octagon stalking him down. It was like the movie Jaws with Mirko being Jaws and Sanchez the helpless girl in the water. Cant wait to see more of CC.

Just got finished watching. No real stand-out fights, my favourite was the Eastman-Rampage. Mirko was exactly what I expected, he is scarily powerful, as soon as the fight went to the floor I knew it was over, which dissapointed me, i wanted him up and picking him off some more :), credit to Sanchez though, brave man stepping in the Octogan against him.
Overall not one of the better cards, but I am so hyped for '68, that schedule is bananas.

Yeah Cro-Cop was nasty as hell in there tonight. he looked like he was ready to pounce on his pray (Sanchez) he stalked him aroudn the ring all night. Are we sure that it is gonna be JMAC v. RICH at UFC 68? If so that is gonna be a stacked card. Hughes vs Lytle, Jmac vs Rich, Babalu vs Lambert, Courtre vs The Maineiac. 8)
I wonder who is next in line for Silvas title? I say Mike Swick. That would be outstanding. And how about Terry Martin's 10 sec KO. then he called out Mike Swick. That could be a great fight later on. But IMO Swick is a top contender for the MW title shot. And Swick must be at the top of the MW food chain or ppl wouldnt be calling him out, you cant call out the CHAMP after ONE Win so you call out the 2nd best thing. I say Martin should fight Louiseau next too see how good he really is. I dont know if he can beat David.
I would LOVE I MEAN LOVE no homo too see CRO-COP vs ARLOVSKI (if he fights how he fought last time, and every other time besides those weak 2 showings vs Sylvia.) This could be a HISTORIC Matchup. I think Jmac and Rich are ahead of Swick, he should fight one of those guys. It'd be good to see him vs. Leben to avenge that loss too.
As for CC/AA, that will be a great match but I think they should wait until CroCop gets the belt first, then fight/defend it to AA, because no one wants to see AA/Sylvia 4 ::) ::) fuckin Sylvia.. but I gotta say Im kinda hopin he wins vs. Randy that way CroCop can fight him and chop his legs off then head kick a la Wanderlei lol. yeah and Rich is gonna be hungrier then ever. Im not saying Rich was better then Silva but he did take Sivla lightly IMO. I do think the AThlete has what it takes. Should be a good fight if it is really going down.

UFC just barely signed a deal with HBO and UFC 70 will be the first event they show. That's y there's gonna be 2 events in 1 month because 69 is for PPV and 70 will be shown on HBO.

I can't tell you how dissapointed I am to be missing Bisping and UFC70, I got the dates wrong and went to order two days late and it's already sold out :'(
I think Couture will get beaten on Saturday, which is maybe a good thing as I would like to see Mirko left-high-kick Slyvia to the cemetary.

Franklin fight was alright I guess but Jmac's striking is just shitty so Ace had the advantage, I expected him to do more though.
I really liked the Kampmann fight it was probably my favourite one of the night even.
And Tim Sylvia is just fuckin pathetic I was laughin the whole time, Matt Hughes looked all scared too about him losing telling him to get together push the pace, AHAHAHA fuckin' Sylvia.. "Is this the 5th round?" But I think now were gonna see Randy really get ktfo by CC...

I dont think that Liddell - Jackson poster is legit, Rampage has only had one fight in the UFC, I dont think they would push him that fast.....If so then Cro Cop would be fighting at the next PPV for the championship.
also, where at does it say that HBO inked a deal with UFC? I looked on both of their official web sites and they said nothing about it. Looked on the schedules too and said that 70 and 69 will both be broadcasted on PPV.
And the poster most likely is fake because it would have the number of the event and the title of it(I.E. All Or Nothing, ShootOut, etc.) it would be bigger, and it would mention at least one other fight....

Chuck vs Rampage fighting on MAY26 is legit. As for the HBO deal, they where suppose to host UFC 70 but HBO & the UFC didn't agree on who's gonna produce it. HBO wants their people and the UFC wants their's. So they need to sort that out before the UFC will be shown on HBO. So now UFC 70 will most likely be on SPIKETV. Thats harsh. I didnt actually see any fights from last night though, and I dont think Im gonna even check it out I dont want to see GSP losing to that fucker Matt Serra. All I heard was GSP came in all stiff and stuff and Serra landed this one lucky punch on the perfect spot on GSP and made him wobly, then pounced on it. I guess thats how you fight when you got nothin to lose.. still though I cant beleive that guy is the fuckin champ now I hate him. Im glad about the Kos-Diego fight though cause I also hate Diego.. I bet this really screws up the UFC's plans now though Im pretty sure they wanted GSP/Diego, winner vs. Hughes.. Now they have Serra champ, Kos above Diego, and still have Hughes and GSP to deal with, LOL. Anyways Im pretty sure Serra will lose the title in his first defense, but you never know with all these upsets lately. Gsp will be back stronger (like after Hughes), and re-gain the belt.
Havnt been able to post the past few days cause Ive been outta town at my grandparents, but I did manage to catch some Pride 34 fights which was quite an event for their last one. NOT ONE decision, (unlike shitty ufc 69, hahaha). I'll post more thoughts on tuesday most likely.. FUCK SERRA!

but what really shocked me is the Sokodjou guy fighting in pride, ARONA got knocked the fuck out! and last time he fought against Antonio Rogerio Nogueira and knocked him out with one single puch just like he did with arona.

WOW! I can't describe how stunned I was.
GSP along with Bisping is my favourite fighter, and I never saw that coming.
I'll give Serra his props because he did a good job, and did strike 3/4 blows right on the button. I never gave Serra even a punchers chance, it just shows that anything can happen in the Octogan.
I agree with Bram, GSP will come back stronger and take back the title I am positive, IMO still the best Welterweight in the UFC.
Koscheck-Sanchez was a dissapointment, but Josh fought sensibly, and landed a few nice shots, Sanchez was horrible, for all this warrior mentality he talks of, he looked like a scared boy in a fight for the first time.
IMO, fight of the night goes to Huerta-Garcia, that was one hell of a scrap, they kept an unbelievable pace for 15 minutes.
Huerta obviously being the better skilled fighter, but I really liked Garcia's determination of never say die.
Pleased that Kendall got a victory, and Mike Swick just got overpowered on the mat.

Arlovski vs. Werdum Werdum will win by RNC late in the second round, although this is a really tough call, I'm pretty confident Werdum is going to win though.
Assuerio vs. Cheick Cheick will win by TKO middle of the second round.
Bisping vs. Sinosic Bisping by TKO late in the first round (similar to vs. Schafer).
Lyoto vs. Heath Lyoto by either TKO or Decision.

Could the best pound-for-pound fighter in the old combat sport (boxing) handle a champion in the new combat sport (UFC)?
"UFC's champions can't handle boxing. That's why they are in UFC." Mayweather said Tuesday from Las Vegas during a break in training. "Put one of our guys in UFC and he'd be the champion. Any good fighter, he'd straight knock them out."
Dana White, a one-time boxer and boxing instructor and current UFC president, laughs at that.
"Boxers couldn't become mixed martial artists. That's why they're boxers," White countered Wednesday from England where UFC has an event Saturday. "They are one trick ponies. Our guys can do everything. They can box, they can kick box, they can wrestle and do jiu-jitsu. They are much better athletes than boxers."
Mayweather may be right, but he'd have to be. Any boxer stepping into the UFC octagon would have to knock his opponent out before the mixed martial artist got a hold of him, because once the fight fell to the mat, where things get nasty, the boxer is all but finished.
But, as Mayweather points out, the often (by boxing standards) clumsy and lead-with-their-face UFC guys would have to walk through a hail of vicious jabs, crosses and hooks to get there.
"Take Chuck Liddell," Mayweather said of the UFC's biggest star and light heavyweight champion (about 205 pounds). "Put him in the ring with a (boxer) who is just 10-0 and Chuck Liddell would get punished."
So you'd punish a UFC champion, too?
"Come on, man. What'd you think? Am I just 10-0?"
Mayweather is 37-0.
Liddell, with six inches and 50 pounds on Mayweather, isn't possible, but someone like Sherk, someone his size? With that insane reach, unreal punching power and by UFC rules aided by small, light 4-ounce gloves would Mayweather carve up Sherk instantly? Or would Sherk fight throughout the barrage and get Mayweather in a clutch no ref will save him from?
"They wouldn't have a chance to grapple (us) because we'd knock them out," Mayweather said in general. "(The fighter) would be knocked out before he even touched us."
Of course, perhaps no punch is strong enough to stop a charging opponent.
No one really knows what would happen at such an elite level.
"I used to talk like Floyd Mayweather when I was involved in boxing," White said. "I talked just like him, until I educated myself about this sport. These guys are amazing athletes, Floyd Mayweather is one of the best boxers ever, (and) Sean Sherk will whoop his ass in under two minutes."
"Any day that Mayweather wants to put his money and his ass where his mouth is, I'm ready," White continued. "If he wants to step up, let's do it."
First off, Mayweather was talking mostly in general about his disdain for UFC – "Boxing is an art, UFC is a fad." But Mayweather has spent almost as much time this spring ripping UFC as de la Hoya, who he seems to consider as little more than a matinee idol useful for only increasing the purse.
"I never knew popularity to win any fight," Mayweather said. "I'll beat him and come home and watch basketball."
The UFC, though, is clearly on his mind. He brought it up on his own Tuesday. Earlier this month he cracked that "anyone can put a tattoo on their head and get in a street fight."
Mayweather may be a talker – loquacious doesn't begin to describe the 30-year-old – but he isn't dumb. So maybe he is setting up another big pay day in the event he dusts de la Hoya and boxing has little to offer. Or maybe he just wants to promote a fight involving others.
Of course, the economics of UFC would have to change to get Mayweather to participate. UFC fighters make a fraction of top boxers. As part of the family business, Mayweather, his dad and his uncle handle all aspects of his career. For the de la Hoya fight he'll earn millions.
"Why would I go into a sport paying hundreds of thousands when I'm in a sport paying $20 million?" Mayweather said.
Mayweather knows full well, though, that the pay per view money is there for the taking on something like this, a battle that would be intriguing at nearly every level. White would just about kill for this to go down, preferably with Mayweather involved as a fighter.
"I'm willing to put together a fight for Sean Sherk and Floyd Mayweather with numbers that would make sense for Floyd," White said. "And I guarantee you he would not accept it. Floyd Mayweather would never fight in the UFC because he would get his head ripped off."

If protected a top level boxer can do well in MMA but they'd all lose against the best MMA fighters if they fight it like a boxing match. Now if Mayweather has other disciplines he excels at that's another story, but I don't see how he'd beat any top level wrestler. They'd just lunge at his feat take him down and wrap him up. Wrestler have been doing that to boxers since the days of Frank Gotch. Danny Hodge wasa pretty elite level performer in both disciplines and he'll tell you any day that a boxer against a wrestler is like a fish out of water. Of course the wrestler would have to be an elite level wrestler.
Mayweather's just runing his mouth to get publicity. "Any boxer would beat any MMA guy"? I'd bet my life savings, my house, my blood relatives on Fedor over any boxer any day of the week. Hell if I'd love to see Mayweather against Fedor just for fun. Make the stipulation that Mayweather just has to last 30 seconds and he wins. He'd still get his ass kicked.

Although Rampage has a great shot as well cause he can take a very hard punch no problem (see Wand vs. Rampage 1, 2) and surely isn't intimidated by Chuck.
So.. I say... If Rampage shows up in his camouflage shorts he'll win.. but if he shows up in the black takedown shorts he'll lose.

The world's top boxer isn't planning to fight a mixed martial artist any time soon, but the IBF welterweight champion says he wants a crack at UFC lightweight champion Sean Sherk.
Floyd Mayweather Jr. dogged the UFC and its fighters in the buildup to his blockbuster pay-per-view match with Oscar De La Hoya on Saturday.
His demeaning comments towards mixed martial arts and its fighters so infuriated UFC president Dana White and owner Lorenzo Fertitta that they brought Sherk to the fight with them on Saturday at the MGM Grand Garden in order to challenge Mayweather.
But before the fight, Mayweather told UFC vice president Marc Ratner he was only kidding and had respect for the UFC and mixed martial artists.
However, boxer Kermit Cintron is willing to take on Sherk.
Cintron, who will defend his championship against Walter Matthysse on July 14 in Atlantic City, said he'd be willing to fight Sherk after that.
"I want the fight," said Cintron, who is 27-1 with 25 KOs. "I can wrestle. I can box. I can beat those UFC fighters at their own game. Tell Mr. White to make me an offer and I'll take on his guy after I fight Matthysse on July 14."
Cintron wrestled in high school and was offered full wrestling scholarships to Wisconsin and Ohio State.

How can you judge a guy by his last fight though. Thats like saying Cro Cop sucks cause his last fight he lost by KO lol. I think his last fight he was very nervous(as he said in post fight interview) and had the gitters. I doubt he's going to be nervous fighting Chuck, knowing he already beat him as well is a plus. I doubt very much he's going to be intimidated by Chuck too.
For Chuck though I think he's going to be really pissed and determined to beat Rampage so he's most likely going to come out guns blazing.

I picked Rampage to win this, congrat's to Q.
But IMO, UFC showed it's weakness last night (Not MMA), & the sole reason why it will never be the top Contact sport.
Plain & simple, there is no closure.
And once again, a Standup position thrown blow from the shoulder's win's the big one. (+1 for Stand up)
(UFC should allow their fighter's to recover from a knockdown a 10 count ect, yet be able to implement throws & takedown's)
Figure out a way to allow striker's to have the same advantages as a grappler.

Liddell was not knocked out last night, had the ref allowed the match to go 10 second's more then we would have gotten that Closure.

lol, well Randy came back after a year off from getting KO'd twice and automatically got a shot at the HW, that was degrading to the max to all the HWs, Henderson is at least at the top of the ladder in Pride, or was at the top dunno if Pride is done or not and has two belts already so.
Dana said Chuck isn't getting a rematch unless he builds himself back up again, which is good because he's 0-2 now with Rampage and I'm pretty sure he'd go 0-3 if it happened again. So the only way he'll get another shot is pretty much only if Rampage loses. Rampage vs. Hendo should be quite good too, both are really tough fighters and like to brawl.
Tito I think is totally out of the title picture, lost to Chuck, before that he only beat Shamrock. He won't fight Rampage cause 1)they're supposedly good friends and won't. 2)Dana hates him 3)Unless he goes on a huge tear through the division which I doubt he can or will, he won't get one.

Nick was caught after he fought Gomi for smokin dope so the NSAC (assholes) banned him for like 6 months or something. Which is pretty gay seeing as how when Diego Sanchez was caught he was only fined like 5 grand and suspended 2 months. BJ was toying with Pulver. Pulver is too small for 155 and will get overpowered by most 155's which is y he's moving to 145 which should be a perfect fit for him. Good shit, pretty much everyone I pulled for got the victory, especially happy to see Joe win.
Doug Evans had a very good first round against Huerta, but Roger is a future champion and prevailed.
Penn-Pulver seemed like a total miss-match, Penn was far too strong and dominant, hopefully Pulver can benefit from dropping to the 145lb division, he proved to be a good dude on TUF, and I even kid of pulled for him tonight, although it was never to be.
Overall a very good event, and I was suprised at how many fights got aired, hopefully that's the last we see of Andy Wang and Rob Emerson. The 155lb divison if exciting to watch, hopefully there's many more frantic fights in the future because that division is deep.
On a side note ya boy got some tickets for '75.

This puts out rumors that Alexander would be taking on The Ultimate Fighter 1 winner Forrest Griffin. Alexander recently upset Keith Jardin at UFC 71 when he KOed him in the first round. Thankfully Anderson Silva saved my night, he's gotta be the most exciting and entertaining fighter the ufc has, he cannot put on a boring show, its always awesome. Big Nog put on a pretty good show too but I was hoping he'd sub Heath. He sure came back after round 1 too.

Silvas fight was the best of the night easily..the Ortiz-Evans fight wasnt really exciting..I saw the videos today on www.cagetoday.com and the videos were of horrible quality..audio was 30 second ahead of the video :-\ glad Tito didnt win tho 8)

This is bullshit and it pisses me off how much Dana favors Franklin. The challenger gets to fight for the title in his hometown. Whats gayer is that had Nate won it would've been in Denver ( his home town ) but then Silva kills Nate and its in Cincinnati. Just for that I hope Silva ko's him again in brutal fashion.
74 has sort of got me hyped, I'm looking forward to Gonzaga Couture and return of my boy Babalu! Couture imo is going down though how can he hang with Gonzaga, he's a gorilla in disguise. St. Pierre Kos has potential I guess too. But I'm more hyped and awaiting 75 to see Cro Cop again. I had a dream last night it was 75 and I got the whole audience to chant 'Mirko' lol.

I did yeah, Couture dominated Tim for five rounds, but other than the initial strike, it was a pretty boring fight IMO.

UFC Lightweight Fighter Renato “Babalu” Sobral was arrested early Saturday morning for allegedly spiting on a bouncer at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Tampa Florida. Not much is known about the incident, except that he was released later that day, on a $1000 bond. Babalu was in Florida attending a WFC event at the Florida State Fairgrounds, before the incident.
Babalu, The Brazilian born fighter now living in California, is coming off a two fight loosing streak to Jason Lambert and Chuck Liddell. He is expected to fight next month at UFC 74 Respect against David Heath on August 25.

The guy says he didn’t cheat in UFC 73, that he’s never cheated in his life. Do you believe him? Well right now Sean Sherk isn’t going to give up his title just yet, he has a lawyer (LA lawyer Howard Jacobs) and is going to fight the test. This is his statement:
“At the present time, I cannot explain the positive drug test in Sacramento, California. I know that I have never used any steroids or other banned substances, and I am investigating possible causes of the positive test with my attorney. I have never cheated, and all of my success has come from hard work and dedication to my sport.”
I have to tell you that I don’t see why he would have cheated for that fight. I could see him taking a little somethin’ if he was fighting BJ Penn, but not for that fight. His hearing will be at 10 am on August 6th, so we will have to wait till then to see if he gets off the hook for this one.

I've only seen 5 of them, Liddel, Rampage, GSP, Franklin, Sherk, and some of Babalu's..
My favorite was Sean Sherk's..his training was fuckin unbelievable..after that Franklins, then Rampage, then GSP, then Liddel..Everyone of them has replay value..I want to see Andrei Arlovski's All Access I havent been able to find it..

Robbie Lawler To Guest Coach On TUF 6
According to an upcoming interview MMAScoops did with Mike Ciesnolevic from the Quad Cities Silverbacks, current ICON Sports champion “Ruthless” Robbie Lawler is slated to guest coach along side friend and teammate Matt Hughes on the upcoming season of The Ultimate Fighter.
Lawler left the UFC after losing to Evan Tanner at UFC 50. Lawler was considered one of the most dominate fighters in the sport before going on a three fight losing streak. Rumors of him not being mentally prepared have followed him ever since. Now with some big wins in ICON Sport and only two fights left on his contract, Lawler might just be trying to make his way back to the UFC in the near future.

In a recent interview on Sherdog.com, Fedor Emelianenko’s manager discusses the current state of negotiation’s with the UFC. The big hiccup seems to be that the UFC will not let Fedor compete in a Combat Sambo event once a year. Combat Sambo is huge in Russia, and Fedor is the poster boy of the sport. Either way if the UFC can’t get over its controlling boyfriend act, then Fedor will go probable to EliteXC or Bodog. His options are limitless, because all the organization’s want him. You cant have the top heavyweight division if you don’t have the top heavyweight.
Sherdog.com: As Fedor’s manager, can you please fill us in on the current state of his contract negotiations.
VF: At the moment we are in negotiations with a number of organizations who have put offers on the table. I’ll be blunt in saying that the UFC offer is the most financially attractive one. However they are very harsh in their terms and are not very flexible in actually negotiating them.
Fedor has now been the PRIDE heavyweight champion for four years and I think we have earned the right to negotiate a contract that suits both parties. Instead we are faced with a blunt “you are either in or you’re out.” This does not really suit us. If the negotiations continue in a similar manner, we’ll prefer to fight for less money but with an organization which is more flexible.
The problem is that Fedor is the face of Combat Sambo in Russia. His popularity is at a level where he is acquainted with president Putin himself, in part because he is so successful and well known for Combat Sambo here.
Combat Sambo is a Russian sport that’s not at a level of difficulty of MMA, but is hugely popular with our public. Fedor must represent Russia in Combat Sambo and at world championships, specifically the ones coming up in September. All we want him to do is compete something like once a year in Combat Sambo. But the UFC is not happy with that.
Their proposal has all kinds of clauses, all kinds of fines etc. that do not suit us. The UFC is not really that eager to communicate and negotiate. The negotiations are still continuing, and we will try very hard to get our demands met, if not Fedor will simply not compete in the UFC, even though that will be unfortunate as they currently have one of the, if not the, strongest, heavyweight divisions in the world.

^^They should let Fedor compete in SAMBO. UFC lets others fighters compete in submission grappling tournaments all the time y not let Fedor compete in something similiar... Not to mention he's the best P4P fighter outhere.

UFC Ultimate Fight Night 11 is Shaping Up
July 31st 2007
New additions to the fight card recently have made this UFN really interesting. September is a big month for the UFC with basically two UFC events, the Ultimate Fighter 6, and now this event.
UFN 11 will air September 19th at 8 pm ET on SPIKE TV. Barring any changes to the current card, there are the bouts:
MAIN EVENT: Lightweight Contention Match
Din Thomas (23-7) vs. Spencer Fisher (20-3)
With the recent steroid accusations and possible suspension of LW Champ Sean Sherk, this is a very important match where the winner could be in line for a Lightweight Title match very soon.
MAIN CARD:
170 lbs.: Mike Swick (10-2) vs. Jonathan Goulet (19-8)
185 lbs.: Chris Leben (16-4) vs. Terry Martin (16-2)
155 lbs.: Nate Diaz (6-2) vs. Junior Assuncao (5-2)
Initially a very interesting fight, Swick vs. Leben 2, turns into two separate but good fights for each of them. Swick wanted to avenge his loss to Leben before the TUF1 show since apparently Leben has been holding it over him ever since. Unfortunately, Leben pulled out of the match right before it was finalized, probably because another loss would really hurt his career in the UFC.
Jonathan Goulet worked his magic on the Sherdog forums to pursuade the UFC and Swick to give him a shot at this fight, and it worked. He is back in the UFC for the first time since his disappointing loss to Josh Koscheck.

Dana’s Putting the “B*tch Slap” on Fighters
Alright, we all know he cant really do that in person, but he can do it behind closed doors. Here are some recent statements UFC President Dana White made to ESPN.com about what he plans to do with fighters in the UFC getting caught with steroids or failing drug tests.
I am putting the b—- slap on guys who get caught using steroids from here on out. The fighters make a lot of money. I have all these nickel-and-dimers starting up leagues, and they don’t steal fighters from me. There are a lot of morons out there throwing money around, and nobody’s leaving me. When what you’re selling is human beings competing against each other, there are always going to be issues, man. Personal problems. Contract issues. There are always problems.
They’re not going to get paid. I take care of all of my guys. If you fight your ass off for me, you’ll get paid. But what I’m going to do is: I’m going to wait and see if they pass their drug tests. If they don’t, you’re going to get paid what’s in your contract and that’s it.
They lose their ability to make a living for a year. At the end of the day, these guys are stupid for doing steroids.
Ok, since we don’t really know the total amount of incentives I don’t know if that is really putting a b*tch slap on anyone, but who knows, it might be a lot of incentives that he offers the fighters behind closed doors.
Here is what Dana has to say about Sean Sherk and steroids:
I’ve known Sean Sherk for a long time. He’s a really good man. He trains hard and has worked hard to get where he’s at. You and me probably have six nanograms [of the steroid Nandrolone] in our system; he had 12. Other guys who’ve been busted for the same steroid have had over 50 nanograms in their system. What my experts tell me is, there’s no way that he would only have 12 in his system. I’m not his father. If he did it, he’ll have to face the consequences. People make mistakes. If your life was over every time you make a mistake, that’s pretty f—ing harsh. How many times do I have to tell people not to use steroids? It’s to the point where it’s just stupid.
Here’s what he has to say about Hermes Franca admitting to using steroids:
That’s one of the dumbest things ever said. He said he twisted his ankle. It happens all the time. He called us and said he was hurt. Two days later, he said he could fight. Nobody is ever forced to fight. I can go down the list and tell you 50 guys who’ve pulled out of fights because of an injury.

Since winning The Ultimate Fighter 4, Travis Lutter has had nothing but bad luck in the UFC. That isn’t going to change anytime soon as he pulled out of his UFC 74 match against Ryan Jensen due to a serious neck injury. Here is what he has to say on his Myspace blog.
“Saturday July 28th I was training and reagrivated a old injury. After giving my neck a chance to heal I decided I was not going to be healed in time for the fight. I would like to thank all the people that were helping me prepare for this fight and I look forward to fighting in the near future.”

It is being reported by the WrestlingObserver that Thales Leites (10-1) will likely be the replacement for the injured Travis Lutter in UFC 74. Lutter had to withdraw earlier due to a bulging disk in his neck that wouldn’t allow him to train properly. So now it is Leites that will take on Ryan Jensen (11-1) in this Middleweight matchup. Leites is a rising star after his quick first round defeat of Team Jackson’s Floyd Sword in The Ultimate Fighter 5 Finale.

Din Thomas (23-7) vs. Spencer Fisher (20-3)
With the recent steroid accusations and possible suspension of LW Champ Sean Sherk, this is a very important match where the winner could be in line for a Lightweight Title match very soon.
MAIN CARD:
170 lbs.: Mike Swick (10-2) vs. Jonathan Goulet (19-8)
185 lbs.: Chris Leben (16-4) vs. Terry Martin (16-2)
155 lbs.: Nate Diaz (6-2) vs. Junior Assuncao (5-2)
Initially a very interesting fight, Swick vs. Leben 2, turns into two separate but good fights for each of them. Swick wanted to avenge his loss to Leben before the TUF1 show since apparently Leben has been holding it over him ever since. Unfortunately, Leben pulled out of the match right before it was finalized, probably because another loss would really hurt his career in the UFC.
Jonathan Goulet worked his magic on the Sherdog forums to pursuade the UFC and Swick to give him a shot at this fight, and it worked. He is back in the UFC for the first time since his disappointing loss to Josh Koscheck.

Dana White: Chuck Has To Win Two
According to statements made with Brawl Sports, Dana White is not going to give Chuck Liddell a title shot if he defeats Keith Jardine. He wants Chuck to win two in a row before fighting the winner of Rampage Jackson/Dan Henderson.
Chuck would have to win one more fight. I think Chuck has to win two fights in a row and then, yeah, he’s back in the mix again. He got knocked out in a minute 30 in the first round (in his last fight). No matter how great he is, I’d like to see him win a couple of fights and then come back and fight for the title again.
Dana White also defended his decision to have Chuck Liddell face Keith Jardin at UFC 76. Both fighters are coming off losses at UFC 73.

According to the Fight Network, Canadian middleweight Jason MacDonald (19-8) has verbally agreed to an Oct. 20 bout against Yushin Okami (20-4) at UFC 77 in Cincinnati, Ohio. Okami is coming off a hard defeat to Rich “Ace” Franklin at UFC 72 in Belfast, Ireland. Also on the UFC 72 card, Jason MacDonald scored a TKO victory over The Ultimate Fighter veteran Roy Singer. Both fighters are top contenders in the UFC middleweight division and both loss to Rich Franklin. Should be a war.

Uninspiring fight for me, I really couldn't give a crap about the UFC's 185lb division as it's so weak, bar Anderson.
Martin's looked good down at 185lb, maybe he can run through another few fighters and get a shot at Silva, but I see no real challenger for the title.

Well if Henderson drops down to 185 then there might be some more interesting fights. As far as I see it though no one right now can beat Anderson, Rich is just gonna get tko'd again. Anderson would pick Martin apart, he'd maybe have a punchers chance, but with Anderson's far superior skills and most of all reach advantage he'd just pick him apart, and I think his clinch would be deadly too on him. I would like to see Okami vs. Silva though.

Timmah gets a lot of stick, kind of feel sorry for the dude, he was a decent fighter to watch back in the day. I think Vera is good, but he is so arrogant, I wouldn't mind someone putting him down a peg or two. Hopefully without his belt Timmah comes out fighting to win. It's an interesting fight.

Just caught it last night, I was suprised with the GSP of '74. I guess he did the right thing by taking Kos onto his back, but I wanted to see him trade. I don't know if he's feeling a little less confident, or that he felt Kos was weaker defending from his back - which I guess is true.
Randy, god damn, I feared when the distanced opened up - even though Randy struck more decisively - but Gonzaga looks like king kong, I wouldnt want no piece of that dude, Randy's game plan was spot on, and that slam was incredible, and for me that tipped the fight.
Gonzaga is for real though, even though he lost this one, I can't see many fighters getting him in close contact like Randy did, and that's when Gabe is going to strike to kill.
Cote was an upset for sure, Huerta did his job again, and Stevenson got a good win over a tough, but poorly conditioned Pellegrino.
Anyone have footage from the undercard? There was some nasty blood stains on the canvas before the televised fight one..

Oh man.. Babalu was on fire!! He totally owned Heath. Plus the way he set up takedowns was great, he didn't burst out like a shotgun ala Lambert. He stood on his feet, went in to strike the went straight to the takedown. Plus even the shots he landed standing seemed to damage Heath (e.g. one to bloody up his nose). I think that was a poor ref job by Mazzagatti though, Heath was bleeding like a fountain and Steve didn't have doctor check the cut out. I also think holding half his purse is bullshit too, he held on for another 2 or 3 seconds max and they're penalizing him 25k ?? Fuck off, Sherk and Franca were caught for steroids and get a 2500$ fine! Plus when BJ held onto Jens for anther 2 seconds no one gave a shit.
All in all, very good PPV. GSP back on track, would've liked to see more standup, and I hate the fact that he's at Jacksons camp now, get back to Montreal. Huerta did pretty good again, although he needs a real fight, maybe vs. like Pellegrino or someone. Cote fight.. LOL that was fuckin awesome how he tko'd Grove, upset of the night there imo and I love when UFCs plans get fucked like that. As for Couture, that was pretty crazy how he pulled that off I guess. A negative side was some dumbass fans who boo when the fight goes the ground, if you don't like MMA, then fucking go watch Boxing. Some dude a few rows back shouted out "what a waste of money", I was like dude, you're in the cheapest fucking seats in the arena.
Overall, I had a great time, it's something you have to experience, but it's a helluva lot easier watching it on television.

We was in the top tier - but at the front row, so I basically had a great view, although I was reasonably high up. We paid £50 a ticket - this was initially the £25 section.. the floor seats were going for £250 on TicketMaster.. I paid over the odds because I baught through Ebay.
I just rewatched Bisping-Hamill in-depth, and it seemed closer - I counted 29-28 Hamill, last night. Maybe you could call it a draw, because although Hamill got take-downs, he didn't work the position, and Bisping did pop back up every time.
I think a defeat for Hamill is still harsh though.
I can't understand how one judge can call a 29-28, and another call it 30-27 to the other fighter. It's definitely a problem in the UFC for me.
I'm so hyped for '76, it's got some great fights - especially the Tavares fight should be awsome. I'm in the process of moving, so I just hope I can catch this somewhere.

I CANT WAIT TOO SEE BJ AND DADDY AT UFC 80!!! IF BJ WANTS TO BE IN SHAPE AND TAKE IT SERIOSULY THEN IMO HE IS THE BEST 155 IN THE WORLD!!!! But as we all know sometimes hes outta shape (Hughes fight especially). But i also had thought that BJ was gonna move up to 170..Did he change his mind cuz the 155 title is up for grabs? He should have the first shot at that title anyways I WOULD HAVE GIVEN ANYTHING TO SEE HIM FUCK UP SHERK! I hate watchin Sherk fight, hes so boring he takes u down and does nothing, just keeps top position and drops and elbow here and there. The Franca and Sherk fight was AWFUL!

Serra Injured, Withdraws From UFC 79 Card
UFC President Dana White announced Thursday
that Matt Serra will have to withdraw from the UFC 79 card due to an injury he suffered after his training earlier this week.
The current UFC welterweight champion, who was scheduled to fight Matt Hughes at UFC 79, suffered a herniated disc in his lower back on Monday following a routine training session in his Long Island gym.
“This is devastating news because they were so looking forward to fighting each other, said White.
“Unfortunately injuries happen and I look forward to Serra recovering quickly, and to getting him back into the Octagon.”
Serra had just finished a Jiu-Jitsu and wrestling training session and was demonstrating a move when he became gripped with pain and fell to the floor. Serra went to the hospital and underwent an MRI, which revealed the herniated discs in his lower back.
“This is the hardest thing I’ve ever had to do,” said Serra. “I’ve never had a back injury before; I could hardly get off of the MRI table. There is no way I can train through this, and I’m devastated, especially because this was such an important fight. I was looking forward to fighting Matt Hughes. All my training was going phenomenally until Monday – All I can do now is to get better and to fight again as soon as possible.”

As the news of Matt Serra’s injury went public, Matt Hughes and George St.Pierre started to lobby the UFC for the inevitable rematch at UFC 79.
GSP reaction to fight:
“St. Pierre and his management team called UFC after getting news of Serra’s injury, and asked for the match… with seven months between fights, St. Pierre was getting antsy for competition. He had even talked of competing in amateur wrestling at the Canadian national level. St. Pierre, with no competitive wrestling background, outwrestled Koscheck in his win…. While St. Pierre asked for the fight, even though he’d only have four weeks of intensive training, about half of a normal top-level fighters camp, it was still up to Hughes to agree.”
Matt Hughes on upcoming fight with GSP:
“As most of you know, Serra has dropped out of the fight due to a back injury. I found out and was told that I get to basically pick my opponent. The UFC had called some welterweights, some said they wouldn’t take the fight; but ultimately I got to choose and I chose Georges St. Pierre. I asked to fight GSP. I think there are a few things that will be in my favor in doing this. I get to fight in Vegas, what I consider my home fighting area, NOT Canada. I don’t think it’s a big deal to switch an opponent over a month out, it’s just not a concern for me. Before I was fighting a guy holding the belt, now I’m fighting a guy that I consider number two in the world. Anyone who thinks this fight will be like the second fight with GSP will be shown wrong on December 29th. THIS IS MY FIGHT!”
