i READ EVERYTHING ABOUT TBCT AND I SEE THAT PEOPLE AREN'T GLAD . THEY WANNA SNOOP COME BACK GANGSTA AND HE DO IT ! NOW PEOPLE TALK LIKE THEY DON'T LIKE IT,AFTER DON'T CRY IF HE MAKES POP SONG >:(.
SNOOP JUST TRIES TO PUT ALL EYEZ ON THE WESTCOAST AND PEOPLE DON'T SEE IT !!

SAY WHAT'S THE PROBLEM WITH THIS ALBUM ?

Even though I already stated in an earlier post everything you wrote here, I agree with you 100%.  I have come to the conclusion that the majority of this board is comprised of youths in their mid-teens...that's the only logical conclusion.
"Detox" is a myth -- Bigfoot, Loch Ness Monster, Area 51, Iraq having WMD, Detox...you get it now?  It was invented by the Aftermath marketing department to maintain the fans' attention.  Notice how everytime a new Aftermath album is ready to come out, they always mention Detox is next up?  Because they are using the invention of "Detox" as a way to market other albums.  The sooner you realize that Detox is NOT REAL, the sooner you'll feel liberated.  Oh yeah, f.u. Aftermath for fooling us fans.

Wackness and dopeness are, contrary to the beliefs of suburban white kids trying to be down, mutually exclusive from how "gangsta" an album sounds.  I've heard albums that were gangsta as fuck and still wack, and likewise, I've heard albums that were pop as fuck and still dope.

True.

This is just my 2 cents: I think Snoop really fucked up by saying that he needed to come back gangsta real quick before he lost his fans. That statement right there tells me you are making music to cater to a certain audience that you think or know will buy those kind of records. Granted, I have not heard BCT, but if this shit flops, Snoop is going to say that, Hey I gave the fans what they wanted and they still ain't happy. So that would give him a reason to go back to the R&G stuff.

Now I am sure he has a couple of R&Bish tracks on there and if people are not feeling the G shit he will be putting that shit out as the next single. I hope I am wrong but he should put a Dre single out there. He put alot of pressure on himself by saying that "going back gangsta" to put out the hardest g shit. The last album fans have had like that front to back would be NLTD or The Last Meal so expectations are already going to be to surpass that material.

I agree that Snoop has succeeded in making universal songs that people from all backgrounds of music can enjoy, but I think at times he is trying to cater to too many people. I could be wrong and the shit might be dope to me but this is just me rambling.  ;D

I agree.  Let me add that the people who are saying this album is flat out terrible:

1) are not really Snoop fans.  They're fans of a contemporary Westcoast style (whatever that may be) rather than of Snoop Dogg, the musician.

2) don't listen to reason.  You can't say an album is flat out wack but could've been great had their been less fillers.  An album doesn't go from "classic" or even "near classic" all the way to "wack" due to filler material.  It's less of a severe drop-off than that.  Hip hop fans by and large are obsessed with hyperbole, and it's hurting the culture.  Besides, you can LEGALLY go to iTunes and dl the great songs and put together your "classic" and have nothing to complain about.  But nooooo.

I'll repeat what I've been saying since the album first leaked.  This album quality-wise is to Snoop what Blueprint was to Jay and Stillmatic to Nas.

Man.....You just haters....

He makes pop album you not happy, he makes gangsta album you not happy......I don't think I've heard anyone ever satisfied what Snoop does........non of his albums.......

When Last meal, Dopp Dogg, PDCTBTB etc you were saying how it's not like Doggystlye, now that everyone agrees its better than R&G (which is a cool album in my books) and you still hate on it.......He scrapt his Ne-yo & Brandi joints (Which everyone was crying about) and added wack as Akon and a couple more shitty Dre tracks (apart from Imagine) , he stepped up his lyrics on this one......No Pimp shit on this one.....But you still act like ungreatful spoilt children...

I'll give you my synopsis of the album....

Intrology - Cool beat nice opener.....3.5/5
Think about it - Beat not super flash, but impressed with his lyrical flow on this one 3.5/5
Crazy - It's a different type of Fredwreck beat, but it's growing on me Nates cool 3.5/5
Vato - Cool story, not bad beat and gotta respect his message...3/5 (because this track old news now)
Thats that - R Kelly wack, beat has grown on me a little, but not feeling this as much 2.5/5
Candy - Dope club track....Nice WC line up and good to see him with G.Loc again 4.5/5
Get a light - nice hard beat....Club/gangsta track......feeling this track 5/5
Gangbangin 101 - This track had a lot of hype, but not feeling it as much 2.5/5
Boss life - Akon wack, Dre track wack, wack song....only upside Snoop brings it on lyircs 2/5
LAX - My fav track on album....not often BC uses voice samples either..Cube got the best line too...5/5
10 Lil Crips - This a cool hard Neptunes beat....Like this track 4.5/5
Round here - WTF Dre Smoking? STAN Rip off.....This is for all white Em fans....WACK! 0/5
A bitch I knew - whose Rhythem D? Wierd beat...kinda cool, but wired......2.5/5
Like this -  The track for the oldies (apart from Thats that) Grown person track I like 4/5
Which one of you - 1500 got a maaaaaaad beat.....this crazy.........4.5/5
I wanna fuck you - Could've just left it for Akon album.....but its there, not as bad other Akon track 3/5
Psst - Another Club Banger.....Jamie Foxx, N8 and Brainz done good....Like this track 4/5
Beat up on yo pads - Football track? Denauan Porters beat crazy....Hi energy track..4 tha kids 4/5
Don't Stop - Glad this THX track on here.....Love this beat, Love track.....Kurupt came good too 5/5
Imagine - Growing on me.....Good story, good Dre beat (not crazy but good).....4/5
Conversations - Nice high spirit track to finish up with....yeah I dig this...just not a track to bump 3.75/5

Overall....Games album dope from start to finish, Snoop has a couple wack tracks, but the Dope tracks are more harder hitting than Games and make up for it...Plenty of replay value...shit this is what I've been bumping.....this gets a 4/5 or 8.5/10 or xl or 4 mics (whichever you prefer) from me....Definately picking this up!

I know that this is my "home" board, but my taste still seems to be A LOT different from everybody else's on the board. I still remember when "Drop it like its hot" came out, and 90% of the board hated it, and said it officially marked the end of Snoop's career....when it ended up being the biggest hit he's had since fuckin 1993.

Saying that....I think this album is hot, and probably his best since Tha Last Meal. I think it's a 8/10 easy....and as most people say, could be higher if it wasn't for the fillers. There are so many strong tracks on this album, and I haven't had a good west coast vibe on an album since 213....and as usual, 213 was another album that was dope as hell to me that everybody else on here seemed to hate.

I think many of us on here are just true west coast fans, and it is nearly impossible to please us. If Snoop dropped another Gin n juice, then "Snoop hasn't evolved at all since 1993"....if he drops "Drop it like its hot" then he is sellin out and he's tryin to go pop......if he drops Candy then he's droppin watery bullshit to appeal to the masses...if he drops another "B Please" then he's doin somethin we've heard before and he needs somethin else....it's like damm, it's no way for him to please us anymore.

I just want Snoop to make the dopest music possible. I can appreciate the Drop It Like It's Hot Snoop, the 213 Snoop and the R&G Snoop. He has come back with a harder edge on almost all of the tracks he has been on so I think I will be diggin this new album. This forum has taught me to wait until the album comes out and bump it on ya own.

...he even got this great Soul singer called Raul Midon...

Oh shit, this is off topic, but he got RAUL MIDON on there? Last summer I went to a Kanye West concert, and Raul Midon was one of the warm up acts - and let me tell you, Raul Midon is DOPE AS FUCK! He's this blind Cuban dude, he performed by himself with just a mic and a guitar. He performed all types of songs, jazz, blues, soul... And they ALL - ALL - were off the fuckin chain. The only thing wrong with his set was that it was too short. I hadn't heard of him ever before that day, and I instantly became a fan. I need to get his record somewhere.

I haven't downloaded the album, what the few tracks I've heard, I liked. Thus, I'm gettin BCT. Plus, it's got another Snoop & Dre track, you gots to love that.
