The Wire Season 4 Finale, ** spoilers**

wow is all i have to say.. *spoilers below*

damn, this was a pretty crazy season. This is probably my favorite season since the first one. I really liked how they focused on this small group of kids. Michael, Duquan, Naymond, and Randy. We see their progression from like a innocent tight knit crew and then how they all parted ways, Randy going into the group homes, and just having the snitch label wherever he goes. Randy just had it bad, he was just a kid trying to get outta that whoel mess, you see him from the start slanging candy instead of drugs.. he had a straight head, but unfortunately the politics of the ghetto caught up with him. Naymond straightening up, and living with that ex-police guy, it was cool to see him get off the corner, and Weebay setting it straight with his crazy wife. I'm glad that happened cos she was a fuckin nut.. Duquan's situation was crazy depressing though. With him not even being able to bring clothes home before his folks sell it off for drugs. And then his house eviction didnt seem anything new to him, and him moving in with Michael and just getting involved with the whole Marlow situation is crazy. Like in the ending scenes when Presbo sees Duquan on the corner after all that happened at school. Michaels is just the most depressing, going from a pretty straight edge kid, boxing in the gym with cutty, going to school, and taking care of his ltitle brother, and even disapporiving of naymond slangin at first.. and then you see him transition, starting when he asked chris/snoop to off bug's ddaddy. and then Michael starting to jack the 5-0, beating up that little kid, and ends up owning his own corner, and starts offin people. Chris is like treating him like his own son and shit. It seems that Michael's loyalty will be his downfall. I hope he turns around next season.... and then Bodie got killed. That shit was hella sad too, he was pissed cos Marlow and them werent really running business right and were just droppin bodies left and right, and really wanted to just get them off the streets so other people can make a living. but unfortunately, peole thought he was snitchin and he got killed. but like Mcnulty said, Bodie is a fuckin soldier, That fools been in this shit from season one all the way till now, just doin his work.  I wasnt sure but who killed Bodie? the guy who saw him with Mcnulty? . I dont know, the whole season was just hella sad. You got all these kids with no hope or future. And I love how the story is interconnected all the way from season one through four. Its like still following more or less branches off the same storyline, and there was the conversation between Bodie and Mcnulty in that aboreteum about the pawns and chess pieces, which was in reference to the conversation between D angelo and Bodie in the first season when they were in the projects. I can not wait till Season 5.

Marlo is going down next season. If not by McNulty then it'll be by fucking with the Greeks the wrong way. You see when he asked Chris to follow Spiro and Chris asked if he should kill him. That would have been their downfall right there. I hate having to wait a whole year though.

that was classic when Marlo was asking the Greek if he trusted the driver, and the Greek said "I looked into his eyes and saw his soul". It's funny cos the whole time, the actual Greek stays out of the picture, and the only thing these hoodlums see is the point man. If Marlo tries to step to these guys, its a wrap for him.

There were a lot of different things that you start to notice, like when Chris was beating Bug's dad, he was making it real personal and just beating his head in with his bare fists, usually its just a swift gunshot, but he took his time. even Snoop was like WTF?. It makes me think that chris probably experienced something in his childhood similar to Bugs and Michael. At first when Michael asked Chris to off bugs dad, i thought he just made up a random excuse that he was a pedophile/molestor. But the more and more you think about it, Michael trips off that shit. Especially with Cutty, like Cutty tries to hella treat him nice and everything, gives him rides, and everything, but Michael hella thinks hes a fag, and avoids him. So that kinda indicates that Michael has a problem, whatever it may be.  and when Michael asked Chris for the favor, they didnt even have to really say much to each other, it just seemed that Chris already knew how he was feeling. and with the hardcore beating, Chris was definitely releasing his anger from somethin.

I'm interested in seeing how the relationship between Snoop and Chris and Marlow developed though. Snoop and Chris are like soldiers to the death, and will like do anything for Marlo it seems. Is it just chain of command and whose boss?, or does it go deeper than that.

Also if you look at the HBO website, it seems that Method man "Cheese" is actually Randy's dad. or they are somehow related, as they both have "Wagstaff" as their last name. something interesting.

The finale was the best episode of the season hands down.

Yeah I'm pretty sure Michael really was touched by Bug's dad and the way he reacted to Cutty makes me think Bug's dad would be real nice the whole time he was doing it. Either way Marlo's crew won't last. The theme of the inner city crug streets is that there is too much greed and and stupidty for anyone to stay on top too long. You build a big enough rep and some young kid will want you dead just like you got rid of the guys above you. Hell it may even be Michael that kills Marlo. But my bet is McNulty finally does it right and gets them all.

all the kids had a mentor in a sense in this season too.. Michael had Cutty, which eventually turned into Chris/Marlo. and then Naymond had the Hamsterdam ex-officer, Randy had Ms. Anna, and then Carver. Duquan had Presbo. and Sherrod had Bubbles.

I need to watch this episode again.

Great season. Can't wait til the next one, I believe it's the last. Do you guys think Avon is coming back? Wood Harris who played Avon was on The Wendy Williams show, and she asked him if he was coming back and he said maybe.

i dunno.. i hella forogt, how did Avons storyline even end? or it didnt? .. I just remember him giving the word to Omar for stringer, but dont really recall anything that happened after that..

I hope he comes back in, but maybe under a different light this time. Maybe like a transformation like Cutty, who knows.

He broke parole and they made it pretty clear that he'll be serving the full 7 years. He had 1 down during season 2 and then 1 and a half till season 4 started. So let's say he'll be done 3 and a half by the time season 5 hits. That's a long way to 7. But he could still play a role with in jail. Namond will be visting Wee Bay so Avon may show up in any Wee Bay storylines. Also if one of Marlo's crew ends up in jail they better be ready to face Avon.

you gotta watch season 1,2,3, 4 all in order, and it becomes one long 48 hour movie. its crazy how the stories are interconnected from season to season.

season 1s about the original project boys doin their shit in the towers, season 2 about the greeks and the big time trafficking through the harbor(drugs, prostitutes, etc), season 3 goes back to the project boys, adds in Marlo, but kinda wraps up the Stringer/Avon storyline.

damn so it seems that the only people that are still out on the streets from season one are Omar, Poot, and Prop Joe. Damn, back in season one, u had the fuckin crazy ass click with Weebay, Bird, and Stinkum. those fools were crazy.

I'm going to go on a Wire marathon seasons 1-4 during xmas break.
