Gerrard is a TOP player,right now the best midfielder in the world,but Messi is something else.

Gerrard is an absolute beast one of the best all round players today.... but messi is just on another level to other plays, i guess we will have to see how he goes next year if they get rid of eto and bring in Zlatan

Its hard to compare players like gerrard and messi.

Messi is all about grace, dribbling and beautiful football where as Gerrard is more like a machine, box to box full of energy, long/short passes and has a great shot.

I havent seen much of Messi this year, as for Gerrard he goes through purple patches but then can dissapear for 3/4 games in a row.

People will say otherwise but his poor form for England has been replicated for Liverpool at times.

Im not knocking the guy because at times he performs miracles for Liverpool and very few players can sustain excellence for a whole season.

I personally prefer Messi's style though.
