http://www.cnn.com/2010/LIVING/03/12/beck.boycott/index.html"When you are harvesting in your field and you overlook a sheaf, do not go back to get it. Leave it for the alien, the fatherless and the widow, so that the LORD your God may bless you in all the work of your hands. When you beat the olives from your trees, do not go over the branches a second time. Leave what remains for the alien, the fatherless and the widow. When you harvest the grapes in your vineyard, do not go over the vines again. Leave what remains for the alien, the fatherless and the widow. Remember that you were slaves in Egypt. That is why I command you to do this. " Deuteronomy 24 14-22Damn near sounds socialist to me... I wouldn't even get started in the Gospels. That's a social justice clinic.
Jesus always taught that people should help the poor. Conservatives such as myself do that in tons of ways, by donating money, doing volunteer work, etc. In fact studies show that conservatives are far more likely than liberals to do those types of things. What we don't believe is that government is the best way to help the poor.Nowhere in the Bible did Jesus talk about needing government programs to help people.
