nobody should be taking that job until they know what lebron is doing

on the other hand, if lebron announces he's staying @ cleveland everyone will be after that job

bit of a big gamble

he officially has rejected the offer.

no big name coach is going to sign with Cleveland unless they are guarenteed LeBron.

Cleveland is absolutely doomed for infinity if Lebron leaves them. They even have stupid contracts throughout the next years... Varejao due to make 9 mil in 2013/14... Jamison makes 30 mil during the next 2 years... Gibson having a long-term contract... Mo Williams locked through 2012/13... they're fucked

exactly cuz he was dope but got fired for what you said not cuz he should have been fired but who else will they fire...yeah watch em fire james over lil mike...nah

if james runs the team....why fire mike brown?
it was never his fault to be fired...haha

absolutely not; he shouldn't take the job regardless, unless he really wants the cash.

you really think Izzo would do anything different than Mike Brown? Tom would still just sit there & basically let LeBron run the show; these aren't college kids, he can't motivate them the same way.

also, i personally don't think LeBron is even going back, so it would be a waste for Izzo to leave a program he built into a powerhouse to coach a team without the best player in basketball.

They fired Mike Brown because they had to fire SOMEbody in order to show the fans, and LeBron that they were interested in making things better. He basically was the easiest guy to blame things on. Nobody gives a shit if the coach gets fired. I feel bad for him tho. Cus i think he was stuck in a no win situation. If the team won a title...it would be because of LeBron.  If they didnt win a title...it would be "Mike Brown couldnt win a title even with LeBron"

Either way, no

but what's this "players to help LBJ" shit ppl can saying? That was a problem years ago but is no longer an excuse. Antawn Jamison, Mo Williams, Anthony Parker, Varejao, Zy, tried Shaq, etc.

This team has a good enough supporting cast. No excuses.

LOL, seriously. People were locking them in for a title even before they acquired a first-option type player in Antawn Jamison...what a joke the LeBron apologists are.

Are they as good as Kobe's? You cant really compare it to Bostons situation because they dont have ONE dominate player.

they can easily be as good as Kobe's cast. LOL. and you know that.

Like i said in the past, looking good comes with winning. Kobe's cast was trashed like never before after Game 5.

I bet they can still make the playoffs without LeBron

PG Mo Williams...Daniel Gibson/Sebastian Telfair
SG Delonte West...Daniel Green
SF Anthony Parker...Jamario Moon/Jawad Williams
PF Antawn Jamison...Andersen Varaejo/Leon Power
C Shaquille O'Neal...JJ Hickson/Zydrunas Ilgauaskas

Thats a fuckin deep ass squad...

^LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL.

I'll be in complete shock if they win more than 30 games, as would the rest of the world, as would you; you just need to spice up the Cavs team to make it seem like LeBron had half the squad Kobe has.

JOOOOOKE.

Even with a guarantee from LeBron....fuck that. I would want a guarantee from the front office that they will go after some good players to help LeBron. At least if you dont have LeBron, the expectation will be low. Just making the playoffs would be a huge accomplishment for Izzo. WITH LeBron...anything short of a championship is seen as a failure.

The front office already did go after good players to help LeBron. Hell, as far as actively seeking help and attempting to rebuild goes, they actually did a damn good job.

The only problem is the team had no general direction as to HOW they could improve, because the team was already doing good to begin with. So they just went out and got random big-named all-stars and hope they can do well instead of stopping to consider whether or not the player actually fits with the team's curent style... pretty much what the Mavs' management has been doing these past couple years (although Mavs have been even more ridiculous). The final two additions that they added to the team, Shaq and Jamison, are both good players who were mis-used horribly. They're both players who are better at getting their own shots off, and that becomes a problem when LeBron has the ball every single possession. That's why the Cavs did better years ago when they were just a bunch of no-namers who knew how to play sick defense and knew how to follow LeBron's lead. Add to the fact that neither Jamison or Shaq are great defenders, and you see why the Cavs' plan failed miserably.

If this team actually had a real coach or game plan, they would have found more success. No disrespect to Mike Brown, his defensive philosophies did wonders for Cavs, but he once they finally started getting other offensive players to work with, it seemed like he had no idea what to do with them.

I definitely agree with the context of your message though as to why Izzo should stay away from Cleveland. What you said is pretty much what the problem is with the Cavs whole situation. And that's the reason Danny Ferry simply resigned as GM. Anybody with any shred of dignity is not going to want to stay with a franchise where the franchise itself will villainize every single person who is not named LeBron for any of the team's shortcomings.
