Shaq Stats
Pts/40min- 26.8
eFG- 60.1
AST-r- 10.9
TO-r- 11.1
REB-r- 17.8
PER- 27.55

Wade's Stats
Pts/40min- 24.9
eFG- 48.3
Ast-r- 24.9
TO-r- 12.9
REB-r- 7.8
PER- 23.67

PER = Player Efficiency Rating - A single number that represents a player's ability adjusted for minutes played and pace - a great representation of his offensive ability (30 best - 0 worst)
eFG = Effective FG% - Takes into account three pointers made, ignores free throws (best & worst similar to FG%)
AST-R = Assist Ratio - Used to evaluate passing skills (40 best - 2 worst)
TO-r = Turnover Ratio - Lower numbers means better (5 best - 20 worst)
REB-r = Rebound Rate - Is player minute sensitive (20 best - 3 worst)

LMAO...It doesn't work like that...You don't adjust shit, you take what you're given...The Big Baby would die if he averaged 40 minutes...Stop fucking with all those numbers and just look at them straight up.

as a Laker fan, I say Shaq still deserved it. Shaq had an average season for him, BUT, it was better than most anyone else. Nash only got the award 'cause they didn't want to give it to the obvious chose, just like Malone got a couple MVPs instead of MJ.

its not about fucking with numbers, its about having a system that truthfully represents the value of a player.  To hell wiht the traditional stats, theres already a new wave of stat heads that are coming up with stats the represents a player better.  The Pts/40min is not saying that that certain player should play forty min but it represents the direct impact the player on the court in a better way.  Look at the Sonics, they are acquiring players with players that excel in those stats.  They are the "moneyball" of basketball.  WEll i guess the less people know about their ways the more time tey have to build a winning team.
