Chicago is right in the center of the U.S. which is far from the East Coast. It's just as close to the West.

Shiiiit I am from L.A. and I thought Chicago Detroit and Cleveland were all considered East Coast....just because of the big city image that they all have. Also, the Sade song "Coast to Coast L.A. to Chicago" didn't help...I used 2 think of Illinois, Ohio, and Michigan as Midwest but those cities always seemed east coast 2 me...
