To be fair, these kid artists only adapt to what their audience (other kids) wants. They obtain success through simplistic formula's, and they get rich off it. Other people simply copy it, including rappers that are looking to expand their fanbase...

Too many kids? I don't know - pop music has always had its share of youngsters on top. Thing is, music is different now. The 'pop' genre hardly exists, so these youngsters have taken on positions in popular genres such as R&B. That's only natural if you ask me.

you're on the right track in my view, hip hop and r and b have become pop because they are so popular corporations took them over.

Of course there is people making the kind of music you say there isn't, you have to go out and find it yourself instead of hoping it'll appear on the radio or whatever, that's why the shit stuff is so popular because the kids don't hear anything else so they have no idea that Marvin Gaye & The Ronettes are much better than Chris Brown and Ciara.

high school kids are the only ones left buying albums probably. once you get into college its all torrent and other bootlegging. gotta play to your demographic

good point, college kids are just too broke to be otherwise.
