Everyone is waiting for Spider Loc to drop his album.  This will mark the comeback of the Westcoast.  Detox need not apply.

Spider Loc will change the game completely. If you thought releases like The Chronic, Doggystyle, 2001, Restless, etc were classic than you will be blown away by Spider Loc's coherent flow and lyrics.

Exactly, shit, he's the most anticipated since Pac got signed to Death Row.  Others are waiting for him to drop so that they can mimic his style.  Some call it elementary.  I call it Bangadoshis.

Label is trying to figure out which single should come out next. Fuck Wit Me, Haterz, or Go Bigg. Plus we gotta wait for Carter 3 to drop b4 Beachcruiser.

Don't they have sample groups to get feedback from? Fucc Wit Me would be a horrible single, didnt get much attention when it leaked and probably wont now nationally either.

Damn I forgot how much I like that song. Props Rud.

On a side note, Glasses has been on fire lately with the guest appearances. On Both quiz's "Vote for me" and the Mack 10 single, Glasses sounded real hungry and had a bunch of quotables.

Lmao talk about bad business. So they opted to wait a longer time now when G Malone had his biggest buzz? Lmao talk about stupid muthafuckas. He aint never gonna
re-create the lil buzz he had with that single, at least not on this album.

Bottom line is this, if your 1st project on the label bricked, then don't expect to see a 2nd project on that same label. Artists are forced to re-evaluate their label situations and asking themselves if the risk is worth taking in this poor sales climate. So if you can't meet the label's sales goal with your 1st release (regardless if the album gets 5 mics and rave reviews), then plan on being stranded on that label indefinitely, or until you're able to buy yourself out of the contract.  Sad but true.

While I wish all these new West Coast cats luck in getting their projects out to the masses, it just goes to show how unhealthy the industry is at the moment. Obviously risk outweighs reward, monetarily speaking. The question labels ask themselves is why should we continue to risk taking sales losses with a new artist who has no proven sales resume?  Not to mention that labels are in the process of downsizing their workforce which leads to smaller budgets and shelved projects.

Granted the usual suspects will always receive priority treatment (Jay-Z, Snoop, Game, Wayne, Dre, Em, 50, Kanye, etc.), but even they aren't guaranteed to see the kind of numbers that they used to see, which makes it even harder for new artists to break through.

So to sum it up, a new artist faces more risk than reward when delivering that 1st album, because the end result of that 1st release will determine whether they have a future in the industry or not.

Spider Loc is a joke. Chapelle needs to do a skit about Spiders career.

Like i said dumb ass business move. Glasses will not, i repeat NOT gain the same buzz again for his album, and the buzz wasnt even that big.
Who gives a fuck about Wayne? I mean hes hot at the moment anyway so it wouldnt matter if dude released it months after, and Glasses
will not sell that much in todays market either way. So know what we'll see is Glasses album being pushed back and pushed back over and over again
then they will put out a couple tracks on the internet that wont gain any buzz, then he will  do some new records and still wont gain buzz then he'll
be in the backburner waiting to blow up and release his shit and then before you know it he's gonna leave the label.

+1. Real niggas recognize Spider Locs undeniable talent with his great rhyming patterns and crazy metaphorical shit that makes me want to stick a rocket up my dogs ass.

your post got lost amidst the morons in the thread like eric b bishop aka bouyaka bouyaka aka mess19 what do you know about buzz your in europe LOL honestly.
these labels aren't generating the same money that they used to get back whenever they gave an artist a multi million dollar budget to work with they take a hit.
In what direction is music content on the internet going next?? they've even got myspace rippers, sure the songs off myspace are low quality but still accessible so even that channel isn't safe anymore.
RAP BUISNESS is like the NATIONAL ENQUIRER or those crappy gossip magazines that you see at the supermarket now artists have to do something to set them apart from the rest.. some gimmick (make up a dance, a saying, give out your phone # mike jones) or say something in shock value most recently the game saying hes going to commit suicide, nas Nigger, 50 cent vs kanye west.
if you thought your favorite artist album kept on getting shelved 5 or 10 years ago, welcome to 2008.

  I too, get lost in his ability to flip shit.  Like when he said, "Bleed blue blood and got blue balls", I was like, whoa, that shit just blue my mind away.  Homie chooses not to get any head or pussy just so he can have blue balls.  That's gangsta.
