So much for hating
« on: November 27, 2002, 09:37:42 AM »
I've never started a thread here, but today i have to. I just got Paid The Cost, to be honest that is the first Cd from snoop i've really enjoyed from start to finish except for one song (it wasn't your fault). I read over here so much negativity about this album, you know whats funny tho, everyone else that is into hip hop (not west, not east & not south), but just someone who appreciates music, they appreciate it. Every reviewer who has reviewed it has given it a two thumbs up. This CD is not the usual westcoast beats, its some new shit, experimental & you know what it worked. Most of you here are stuck on doggystyle, which is fine, but why dont you ignore the remainder of the snoop releases & stick with doggystyle coz that was the first & last one. to be honest this album is probably the best one to come out this year aside from AZ (aziatic) & styles. Tha jigga is alright but he should have made it a single CD. I for one will tell you this, i'm impressed with Snoop, he has grown out of Dre's shadow, he doesn't go around lickin' the hottest star of the moment's ass (like xzbit trying to be Dre & Ems right hand man & dissing his likwit crew), i respect him for always trying to put his homeboys in the game.
My point is dont listen to anyone's opinion, if you need opinions read unbiased reviews, not from the source. I'm glad i didn't listen to the hatin'. You want the same ol' westcoast sound get the WC, it's a good CD but he didn't bring anything new to the table, maybe now you can ask yourself why the west dont sell. That's my word, & i'm stickin' to it. PEACE  ;)

Well Said  :) - And Yea If You Listened To Others Opinions And Chose Not To Pick It Up, I Advise You Reconsider  ;)

And if you're a Snoop Dogg fan you will realize that Doggystyle is actually the odd album out of all the rest of them....

"he doesn't go around lickin' the hottest star of the moment's ass "

Dre and Em aren't the ones going out for Ludacris, Just Blaze, The Neptunes and other hot stars.  You don't see an Eminem album packed with that shit.  If anything, they are keeping it real.

This is the first Snoop album after Doggystyle that I didn't pick up right away.  This is because I really wasn't expecting much after that lead single and his track record of late.  So I heard it for the first time today.  And I'm saying this after only one solid listen...What the fuck was he thinking?  Hopefully this grows on me but that first listen left a bitter taste.  One thing is, The Neptunes have made some good music but overall they can't make quality hip-hop music.

But I can't really pick apart the album yet but I noticed some real trash on the first way thru.  And some bangers but overall this is what I expected.
